View Full Version : Concerning ECW One Night Stand card
With the WWE's ECW One Night Stand PPV coming up this Sunday, you'd think the buildup would be complete by now. After reading the Smackdown spoilers, it doesn't appear that any new matches have been added to the card.
Currently, on WWE.com, the card stands as follows:
Lance Storm with Dawn Marie vs Chris Jericho
Extreme luchador action:
Rey Mysterio vs Psychosis
A three way dance:
The insane luchador Super Crazy vs Tajiri with Sinister Minister vs Little Guido
Eddie Guerrero vs Chris Benoit
Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman vs Bubba & D-Von Dudley
ECW One Night Stand will feature special appearances by:
Paul Heyman
The return to PPV of Rob Van Dam with Bill Alfonso
Tazz
Spike Dudley
Al Snow with Head
Sabu
Balls Mahoney
Danny Doring and Roadkill
CW Anderson
Rhyno
Joel Gertner
Axl Rotten
Justin Credible
Kid Kash
Masato Tanaka
Mikey Whipwreck with Sinister Minister
The BWO - Big Stevie Cool, Hollywood Nova, and The Blue Guy
Does this mean that there will only be five matches while the rest of the guys will be involved in skits, angles, and situations with WWE wrestlers? How can this be?
All I know is that if guys like Kid Kash, Rhyno, Masato Tanaka, Balls Mahoney and fucking SABU don't have matches then I will be extremely pissed.

Probably just gonna have them all thrown together with the invading angle and have 1 big brawl at the end for a match.

The way ECW shows used to be ended up with several matched happening on the night that were un announced, so i'd expect at least 7 or 8 matches

There will probably be like 5 un announced matches, that's the ECW style

I hope there isnt just 5 matches...that was something that I didnt like when looking at the match listings the other night. I guess right now maybe they want to surprise people. Put some matches up to get people turned in and then during the show just make matches happen surprising the people. Because the show would suck ass if they only had 5 matches and then in between had the other guys talking about the ECW past....We already had a freakin DVD that did that.

The card looks great as it is right now...
Add in the announce team of Joey Styles/Joel Gertner or Joey Styles/Mick Foley...
Rob Van Dam and Tazz won't be able to wrestle, but that's still acceptable... I can see them in an entertaining brawl against the WWE guys, though...
Mikey Whipwreck has seemingly retired so I don't see him competing in a match, however I wouldn't count a role on the card...
Mahoney/Rotten are hardly immensely entertaining wrestlers and I doubt they'll be given a match, however I see them playing a major part in the brawl against the WWE guys...
Due to a lack of serious name recognition, I can't see Kid Kash playing much of a role on the show aside from an appearance in the brawl...
Matches I would add to the card include:
Sabu vs. Justin Credible
Rhyno vs. Masato Tanaka
BWO vs. Doring/Roadkill/Spike
...and...
On HEAT...
Al Snow (w/Head) vs. CW Anderson (or perhaps something with Kid Kash)
Add that to a card already including:
Rey-Psychosis
Guido-Tajiri-Crazy
Storm-Jericho
Benoit-Guerrero
Dreamer/Sandman-Dudleys
and you've got a classic...

There will be more than just 5 matches, add the brawl and the segments, greatness. This is gonna be awesome and if it isn't, I'm gonna set myself on fire and throw myself off of a scaffold while my neck and shoulders are all taped up together with tacks and staples into a stack of steel chairs and tables.
Nah, I'll just cry to myself as usual instead.

Balls Mahoney is an amazing wrestler. Like I've said before. Watch his matches against RVD.

What happened to all the other confirmed names?
They'd mentioned Joey Matthews being there, and also I know confirmed for the show is Tony Mamaluke. In addition, isn't New Jack supposed to be there?? And what about Tracy Smothers?? He was supposed to be booked for this too.

Yeah, Balls has had some good matches with lots of people.
I remember him and Masato Tanaka having some good matches, and that was when he [Balls] was even heavier. He looks to be in better shape now and all that. I also remember him putting on good tag matches as well, and actually dragging some nice stuff out with The Sandman.

The way ECW shows used to be ended up with several matched happening on the night that were un announced, so i'd expect at least 7 or 8 matchesExcept the WWE writers are booking this, so you're just gonna get rehashed Invasion stuff where the WWE guys win or something. :'(

he gets type cast though as a new jack kind of wrestler that was pretty much just a weapons wrestler, but he was pretty kick ass as a solo wrestler

For anyone who doubts Ball's ability to put on a show take a look at Balls Vs Tanaka from Hardcore Heaven 2000.

Heyman has confirmed on Byte This and many other interviews that more matches will take place than what has already been listed. He said that was the greatness of ECW. They would put the matches together at the last minute so really some matches were always made right before the show went on. He says that he wants it to be that way this time.
As for people making appearances that arent listed on WWE.com.....
Heyman has also said that many more people will be there. There are surprised that will shock everyone with people showing up that no one would expect. And word now is that TNA has told there wrestlers that if they want to take part in the event then they can.
So with Heyman wanting to surprise us and everything im expecting perhaps Mike Awesome to be there....
Also Heyman has said that many surprises will take place for the crowd also and will not be shown on PPV and the DVD. He said that since Vince had high ticketprices he wants the fans to get there moneys worth so they will get an experience that people who order the ppv and dvd will not be able to experience.
Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka is now confirmed for One Night Stand. Sweet.
Other matches I'm hoping for:
Tazz vs. Kurt Angle, with Tazz making Angle tap out AGAIN
Sabu vs. Kid Kash
CW Anderson vs. Rhyno or Justin Credible

Or Balls vs. RVD from Anarchy Rulz '99. Hott match. And another example of ECW booking, because RVD was supposed to be fighting Johnny Smith from the Impact Players. Balls, Axl, and LSD took out the Players and Dawn Marie, then Axl cut a promo about how RVD needed a new opponent. RVD and Balls proceeded to tear the house down. And it ended up being the last match on the card. How freaking awesome is it to end a PPV (that included a Three Way Dance for the World Title where the champion got pinned first) with an unscheduled match?
Man, I miss ECW.
