Youell, be honest. Batista beats HHH because HHH won on Monday. Cena wins against Jericho and Christian, and Jericho gets drafted....

I wish they would stop messing about the titles. It's hard enough remembering which ones are which.

I knew Hassan was gonna go. He was one of my pics. Im betting next week either Jericho or Christian goes along with Shelton Benjamin.

Didn't expect Hussan...

Even though Raw is the more superior show, Smackdown, I think, does have potential if used right. You got alot of talent in the under, mid, and upper card to have a really good show.

El Santo
06-23-2005, 08:47 AM
I suppose having both titles on Raw makes sense from the standpoint of having the title with the more storied history on Raw. There will probably be a Unification match at Summerslam, I guess.

Still, the mind reels over this turn of events.

This means havoc for my Wrestling Titles page (http://titles.xylot.com). I'm going to have to make a few more branching lines for this new Smackdown Heavyweight Championship.

I dont think the match will be for the new title.

I would bet that the World Champ or maybe even Cena, but more likely the World Champ goes to SD, which would happen before the match. Teddy then makes the match for the #1 contenders spot at GAB not for the new title.

It makes no sense to have that match on TV and not at the PPV if they were really going to introduce a new belt.

Funny, PWInsider.com has this for the spoilers:

Velocity:

Booker T def. Billy Kidman
Rene Dupree def. Jobber.
Orlando Jordan def. Nunzio
Chris Benoit def. Jobber

SmackDown!:
Joey Mercury def. Heidenreich
Paul London and Chavo Guerrero went to a no contest after Juventud, Psicosis, and Super Crazy came out on a lawn mower.
Muhammad Hassan def. Big Show
Rey Mysterio def. Eddie Guerrero

Only slightly different. You forget about the lawnmower, Youell? ;)

From pwinsider.com

That's a joke right

From WrestlingObserver.com and John Brown:

Dark match:

Hardcore Holly defeated Beard Blackwell- Blackwell was some big indy jobber with a Mike Haggar gimmick and he used a lot of early 80s to late 90s wrestling offense but was put down by the Alabama Slam.

Velocity:

Scotty 2 Hotty and Shannon Moore defeat Garrison Cade and Trevor Rhodes- Decent little tag match but the worm put those big dogs to sleep.

Chris Benoit defeated Akio- Pretty good stuff here even though it didn't last long. Akio showed that he wasn't 4 REAL by tapping to the crossface posthaste.

Orlando Jordan defeated The Phenomenal Phil Dorchestor- Pretty much a squash match with Orlando busting out the moveset all over the skinny kid decked in all white.

Booker T w/ Sharmell defeated Billy Kidman- Ok bout which saw Booker pick up the win with the Scissor kick.

Smackdown:

The Show opened up with Smackdown GM cutting a promo and showing us Smackdown's pick and it was none other than Muhammad Has! san with Davairi they were apparently a package deal. The heels run their mouth for awhile and The Big Show decides that he has had enough of the talking and wants some action tonight and in standard ECW fare an impromptu match goes underway.

Hassan defeats The Big Show- As he was going for the Chokeslam Davairi gets his attention and next thing you know WHAM he gets hit with that flatliner/complete shot thingy and 123.

Paul London defeated Chavo Guerrero- Chavo was distracted by the arrival of El Lucha Luxury (Crazy,Psycho,Juvi) or 3L as they referred to themselves. Paul picked up the win with a dragon suplex and then 3L beat the snot out of Chavo for some reason.

Joey Mercury w/ NM defeats HEIDENREICH- HEIDENREICH was distracted by Melina and was CRITICAL'd by Joey's double underhook DDT.

Rey Mysterio defeated Eddie Guerrero- Easily one of their worst (but still very good) matches. Disappointing ending but hey flash pins are cool.

There were back! stage segments and stuff but I don't remember them but I do remember one showing Charlie Haas go to Post Office and The announcement of a Smackdown Title and a match deciding for it (to take place next week, and feature Benoit vs. Booker vs. JBL vs. Taker vs. Hussan vs. Show).

Jericho is definately headed to SD...a tradeoff between the Highlight Reel and Carlito's Cabana.

So...Jericho wins the WWE title at Vengeance, thus giving SD a hvt. championship belt.

And Bentoit is on Velocity already? Boy, that was quick.

BENOIT ON FUCKING VELOCITY?! :nono:

If not bringing the World Heavyweight title to SD is a stupid move, having a six-pack challenge for the new SD title on TV FOR FREE as opposed to having it at GAB is even more stupid.

Glad to see Hussan, Booker, and Benoit in the title scene though.

I suppose having both titles on Raw makes sense from the standpoint of having the title with the more storied history on Raw. There will probably be a Unification match at Summerslam, I guess.

Still, the mind reels over this turn of events.

Making up a brand new title = GAY
Unification matches = CRAP, especially since it sounds like a freakin' excuse for "HHH-A-MANIA" all over again.

Bring one of the existing belts to SD!, dammit.

In fact, it would be cool, if all the "WCW" titles (since basically, even though the history behind them is mangled, that belt Batista wears is the "WCW" title in appearance, the US Title is a "WCW" title as well, and those "World" tag titles might as well be from WCW as well, the Cruiserweight title is sort of a "WCW" institution, to boot) went to SD, and all the "WWE" titles went to Raw.
It would be like having WCW back without it being called "WCW" per se.

Just think... Hurricane back on SmackDown.
MNM seems to fit the mold of..."Get all the guys with heat on Raw!" now as well.

Benoit on Velocity is sad. :(

06-23-2005, 07:13 PM
Sounds like an interesting SmackDown!. 3L should have attacked London as well, though. Get a gang warefare thing happening for the Cruiserweight Title. Hey, at least it gets attention for the title.

I'm looking forward to the title match. I'm kinda enjoying the whole "SD! needs to establish a new title thing". It sort of feels like you're a part of history. I think they should throw in Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio, though, and make it an 8-Man Tournament.

Why the fuck was Charlie Haas at the post-office, though? Guess we just have to wait and see. If it gets him closer to Shelton Benjamin I'm all for it.

I'm really curious as to where the title scene is going to go now.

No it's not!!! :'( :'(

But yeah... attacking London makes more sense. Plus, Chavo's Mexican...ish... he could be a Lucha. :D Rey could lead 3L tho.

Anyway, if they're serious about this new title, I'll cry. It'd be better to have JBL use the old title and then go with his calling himself the champ.

06-24-2005, 12:25 AM

It seems to me that they will have HHH take "his" belt back from Batista at Vengeance, and then be totally absent from RAW for the whole night, except to confront Batista and tell him that he will NEVER be World Heavyweight Champion because he's going to SD! whether Bischoff, Batista, Teddy Long, Vince or the fans like it or not, then on SD! he doesn't show up until towards the end of the 6-Man main event, when all but 2 people (I'm guessing UT & Hassan) are down and out on the floor, HHH runs to the ring and knocks UT and Hassan out cold with the belt, then pedigrees each of them, and Teddy Long makes a Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship at The Great American Bash, where Hassan picks up the title by waiting till HHH is down and out and Daivari distracts the referree while Hassan flatlines taker to the mat and picks up the easy win. May happen differently on TV, but I guess we'll all just have to wait and see now, won't we?

Yeah...the Hassan segment was definately not the top of the show. Either they messed with the order after taping, or this guy wrote up some horrible results.

Also, Teddy never actually took the alleged new title out of the bag. I'd say that's a pretty big hint that SD is getting one of the world championships next week. (The fact that they even included that stupid bag is a terrible continuity error, too...they weren't supposed to settle the championships until after the draft. They only waited two weeks to contradict that!)

See they could have added Eddie and Rey and just have an 8 man tourny at GAB.

I'm still not convinced the title sees the light of day, or if it does, its only around for until GAB when they will have the World Champ against whoever wins the match next week (likely JBL).

Bingo. And why else end the feud on free TV? one is gonna get drafted, and that sucks. I hope it isn't Eddie. Man, fu</>ck, I don't want it to be Rey either.

And this new title thing is ridiculous.

If one of those two were going to be drafted to raw monday i'd have to assume it would be Eddie, automatically, because Why the fuck would Vince send one of the cruiserweights (and one of the best i've seen in a long, LONG time) over to raw, especially when it's so apparent that another CW title run for rey-rey would really help get him noticed more for more prestigious gold?! I mean come on, really! Think about it folks!
