When I play with a gamepad, I don't get that issue. DO you play entirely with the keyboard?

I got the sound thing, but the game didn't freeze yet. I got a lot of glitches too.
Glad someone "gave" it to me. :shifty:

yeah it's pretty bad. i had to download some special driver for it to even run. was ridiculously shit beforehand. not too bad but sound keeps cutting out when it rains.

you must have the same friends I do, as someone "gave" it to me as well.
Almost bought it before playing it though, amazing extras in the packaging was almost enough for me. Sure glad I didnt buy it though.
So much wrong with the actual game, cant really list it.
Heres hoping R* release a patch that fixes even half the problems.

http://spaces.msn.com/members/NeverMike/ All my GTA :SA PC screenies. Had issues with the game crashing at first but I put my sound card acceleration down to basic and it works fine now.

According to Rockstar, all of the problems people are having with this game on the PC has nothing to do with them and it is simply all of our fault.
This attitude is starting to really fucking agitate me.

downloaded and have NO problems whatsoever so far
but that's probably because my computer is a fucking power house

My computer has a radeon 9800 pro, 3.20 GHz and a Gig of Ram.
And the sound still sucks. That's called lazy programming. I know what I'm talkign about. :o

Yes you do, because you are not the only one suffering with this problem. And Rockstar refuse to take any responsibility.

Mine works perfectly. :$
And Klepto, just go to the Control Options screen and turn on "steer with mouse". It'll get rid of the free-look shit.

Not as good as Vice City.
The worst thing has to be the whole driving/pile up business. Just fucking annoying and especially because when there is a pile up it slows down the way everything runs.
RoXer
07-10-2005, 06:56 PM
Yeah, but pileups normally only happen on the freeway. On the PS2 version, the other cars speed would be in bursts while on the freeway and I found that to be annoying. I dunno of its like that on PC.
Moonax
07-10-2005, 07:23 PM
That is what is so stupid. You can be in a fast car bombing a long and then a Linerunner will ram you from behind and you get stuck in a massive pile up.
The music isn't as good as on Vice City and it lacks Maurice Chavez.
It is good but there are some really annoying aspects to it that just bring it down a touch.

Heh, yeah. Personally, I think Vice City is FAR better than San Andreas.

07-10-2005, 11:35 PM
Vice City is the smoother-running game, by far, but I've preferred the missions and stuff in San Andreas so far. :$

I've already uninstalled it until rockstar comes out with a patch, but i'll remember that when i do get it going again, thanks.
and with no question, vice city had way better music than SA

I may have said mine was running perfectly a little too soon.
I'm having a problem now, and I was wondering if anyone could help me out.
In the "Mountain Cloud Boys" mission, every time I get to a certain point (getting out of the car after driving Woozie around the block), the game half-freezes. I mean that in the sense that the game is still running, but my keyboard and mouse stop responding in game only, as I can still get to the menu and move my mouse and type and stuff. It's only on this mission and always at this point. Anyone know of any patches or anything that might be able to help? :(
Game can fuck off doing that pilots license with the mouse keyboard is the most impossible thing ever

it took me fucking ages to do it with the joypad too. first time around anyway.
Get online you cunt your doing them for me :$

so annoyed. was doing that casino mission where you need to nick 4 bikes, stole 3, went for the forth, shot the policeman to bits and then the bastard bike blew up. GOD.

07-20-2005, 10:07 AM
So no problems with Mountain Cloud Boys for you then, huh?

07-24-2005, 04:38 AM
I got it to work. :$ I just did a different mission first, and then for some reason it wasn't an issue. Weird.
The only thing that is shitting me about the game, since I am otherwise glitch-free, is how poorly programmed the traffic is. :$ It's like, all the technology they used in GTA 1 to Vice City for recognition of the user car to allow things like NP-cars giving way, stopping when you are in front of them, etc. is gone.

Ogen is right, that pilot's license shit is THE most frustrating thing ever. Circling the airstrip and landing with clunky ass keyboard controls can fuck right off. What a pointless mission. All that painful fucking manoveuring for one stupid plane mission. Go to Hell, Mike Toreno.

I got one more glitch to report. Yesterday I was playing it, and out of nowhere, my computer stopped by itself. I thought it might be overheating, but I have air conditioning. So I power it on again, it shuts down without even coming on.
So I wait ten minutes. It does power on, but I get a message that says "Overclocking failed, load original setting?". I never even overclocked anything in my life, so I don't know how it could even say that. I guess I'll try the game again tonight.
I don't want to break my computer for a stupid game though. :(

The dancing games and the keyboard just suck dick. Even if you press the keys at the right time it doesn't show up.
Driving is a nightmare and flying is pretty horrible as well.
I definately think that it is a case of putting too much stuff rather than sticking with what they are good at.
I dunno about you guys but rain seems to slow things down for me and fuck the control up.
mitchables
07-27-2005, 11:07 PM
Yeah rain slows it down fairly noticeably, and lags the controls pretty badly.
At the moment, I am trying to catch a plane with a bike that refuses to get anywhere near said aircraft. I dunno, I was really really enjoying this game, but unless the next mission is fun and not just pointlessly frustrating, I am considering just canning it for now, until I am feeling less rage.
Moonax
07-28-2005, 11:26 AM
What you have to do is tap/press lean forward and that should give you some more accelation. You just have to touch the tailgate of the plane and the cut scene should begin.
The Mask
07-30-2005, 07:22 AM
yeah the sound cuts out when it rains on mine, like you can hear the rain, but nothing else at all.

Klepto I need your help.
GTA crashed on me again. I'm thinking it might be a overheating issue since the crash happens in different parts of the game. However, I bought a computer especially to play powerful games. I have a Intel Pentium 4 3.2 with 1 GB of RAM and a Radeon 9800 Pro video card. I guess they make the material good enough to support the heat. All the fans seems to be working OK. What can I do about this?
The Mackem

Does this game support joypads?
mitchables
08-31-2005, 10:12 AM
I think I remember seeing somewhere that Kapoutman plays it with a gamepad, so I'm going to guess yes :$
The Mackem
08-31-2005, 12:09 PM
Might be a bit easier than using the keyboard hmmmm
Kapoutman
08-31-2005, 10:35 PM
It does support gamepads. I go around on foot with the mouse and keyboard as shooting is more precise with it, but I keep the gamepad on my lap for driving. It manages to get both at the same time.
Kapoutman
08-31-2005, 10:36 PM
Also, I checked inside my computer as a certified tech myself. The processor fan is fucked up. I called the company, they replaced it free of charge. I can play it now without a problem. No lag for anything because my computer is a FUCKING POWERHOUSE.
Every mission available to me involves flying and thats shit
