WWE are currently interested in adding several new tag-teams to the roster. ECW stars Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney are scheduled for tryouts at TV tapings next month. It’s also believed that Rotten and Mahoney are booked for Raw on 7/11 in East Rutherford, New Jersey and Smackdown on 7/12 in Worcester, MA. The suggestion to bring them in came from John Laurinaitis. There’s no word on whether they would retain their ECW personas if they were picked up.
It’s also believed WWE have been in talks with Danny Doring and Roadkill as well. Sabu is also set to meet with WWE officials soon too.

This is good in several ways... First of all, they could be choosing to revamp the struggling tag-team division... There are lots of teams but a lack of exposure on both shows... The teams are:
Dudley Boyz
Basham Brothers
MNM
Resistance (if there is some sort of reunion)
Heart Throbs
Regal/Eugene/Tajiri
Hurricane/Rosey
Simon Dean/Maven
Charlie Haas/Bobcore Holly
If they build new teams like Heidenreich/Snitsky and maybe bring back World's Greatest Tag-Team and Los Guerreros, the tag-team division could definitely pick up... Especially with a lot of cruiserweight teams, as well as the potential additions of Doring/Roadkill and Rotten/Mahoney...
I am also strongly pushing the idea of making SmackDown! an ECW-show...
The ECW guys that are already on the show include Rey Mysterio, Super Crazy, Psicosis, Juventud, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Little Guido/Nunzio, Dudley Boyz, Spike, Dawn Marie and Rob Van Dam...
The ECW guys that would have to be drafted/traded in order to get the guys from RAW over include Stevie Richards, Nova/Dean, Tajiri and Chris Jericho...
Then, it's important to sign some key guys to get the promotion over: Joey Styles, Joel Gertner, Mahoney/Rotten, Roadkill/Doring, Sabu, Rhino, Mike Awesome, Masato Tanaka, Justin Credible... This will be effective with occasional appearances and plugs with Tommy Dreamer, Lance Storm, Sandman and Whipwreck to put the promotion over...
Lots of the other ECW alumni is pretty washed up and aren't really needed for permanent contracts of any kind...
Steve Corino, Jerry Lynn and Perry Saturn would also be awesome additions to an ECW-promotion, but it has become clear that there is no interest in getting some of these guys... An ECW show will survive without old guys like Terry Funk and Shane Douglas if they still have casual appearances from ECW alumni like Foley, Austin, Sandman and Dreamer...
There is also the TNA cruiserweights and the free agent market with the likes of American Dragon and Low Ki that can be signed, however I don't see too much interest from WWE in this type of thing...
Signed guys like CM Punk, Johnny Swinger, Kid Kash and Frankie Kazarian can be put into ECW right away...
Some WWE guys can also convert to ECW if they will fit the style and can be used... Some people that come to mind include a variety of cruiserweights, Matt Morgan, Batista, MNM, Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas and that's about it...
Ratings will surely pick up and it will create an interesting to the WWE product/RAW that will showcase the likes of: HHH, HBK, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton, John Cena, UnderTaker, Kane, Big Show, Booker T, JBL, Christian, Edge, Hassan and Carlito... This can create two interesting cruiserweight divisions except with the TV title in ECW, as opposed to the cruiserweight title... Two world heavyweight championships... Two tag-team divisions... And WWE can also feature the Intercontinental championship due to a bigger roster and probably a lot more TV time to showcase the roster...
ECW could consist of RVD, Sabu, Rhino, Benoit, Jericho, Guerrero, maybe Awesome/Tanaka as the regular main eventers... Not bad at all and definitely exciting TV...

Either way, more tag-teams on the way can be a good sign for the company and especially the second brand (not RAW, the other one) that is going down the drain...
