Looks siiiiick. SFX are a bit meh, but it's still early, plenty of time to polish them up.

Looks hot. Peter Jackson is renowned for working on his movies until the last possible moment. Can't wait.

I see what you did there.

Shut up.

why "shut up"?

There hasn't been a King Kong movie since the 1970s, and that movie was crap.

This one is a faithful remake of the 1933 classic. Fay Wray was originally signed on to be part of it. Props from the original are being used in this version.

Saying "another king kong movie" when seventy years have passed since the movie this is remaking and nearly thirty have passed since ANY king kong movie was made is a little odd.

are we forgetting the unforgettable 1986 classic entitled King Kong Lives

Lamuella

in fact, I was forgetting that. Or rather I'd never heard of it before.

Gotta love the fakey looking giant snake Kong fought in that one instead of the T-rex.

Anyway, the movie looks great. Kong himself looks very impressive. Not sure if I like that some of the scenes look like they were directly pulled out of "Lord of the Rings", though.

I actually saw it about 2 months ago. Just flicking around one day and watched it. King Kong had a girlfriend. Yowza

I've never seen "King Kong Lives", but Ken Begg has a pretty enjoyable (though long) review of it at his jabootu.com website:

Looks alright, but am I the only one who thinks the CGI looks really shitty (at this stage) Usually they only put finished shots in trailers, so what's the deal?

I think that, as well, Smitty.

I think the CGI looks quite crisp in some areas, but needs touching up in others, especially when king kong slides on his back towards you.

I hear Tarantino is directing parts of it.

Lamuella

not heard of tarrantino directing any of it. Bryan Singer directed one scene because Peter Jackson was so tired he literally passed out on set.

Jackson looks awful, he introduced a showing of the trailer on TV over here last night, and he's lost a LOT of weight, possibly more than is healthy.

Film doesn't look bad though.

Yeah, Jackson has been living on cereal for a few months and has lost shitloads of weight, he'll be ok though.
The reason the scenes might look out of LOTR is because they are both filmed in NZ and while some of LOTR was filmed in Wellington (NZ), most of King Kong was, also, the same digital imaging company WETA did both films.

You all forgot about MIghty Joe Young?? Which is in a Sense a King Kong Movie...Ya know Huge Gorrila looking thing gets dragged out of the jungle and taken to a Big City, for some reason or another gorrila goes on a Rampage and ends up getting shot at...If I remember correct though Joe ends up surviving and gets taken back to the Jungle.

(Shurgs)
