How do they produce the lightning that seems to come out of nowhere? Is it actually seen in the arena, or is a graphic-type thing?

I ask this mainly because, thinking back to the original Buried Alive match, at the end, The Undertaker's hand comes up and the lightning doesn't exactly look 'real'.

So yeah, how do they do it?

I'm pretty sure it's seen in the arena, like a very strong pyro effect. I think it's done to the same effect as the ceiling pyro that the dudley's used to use. basicly as soon as the pyro coming downwards hits the floor, they set off the ground pyro to make an explosion effect

I know how they do the explosions, it's like any other pyro. But the actual lightning effect I don't get. I guess it could be done like the Dudley's pyro, although it actually looks like lightning, not like a missile.

I get what you're saying, though, and you could be (and probably are) right

Pyro? Graphic?

What the hell are you people talking about? He uses his dark, sinister powers to conjour the lightning. Jeez people, get a fucking clue.

It's difficult to aim when you roll your eyes up like that.

It's actually not done in the arena, it's just the sound. It is, however, shown on television through placement of a few frames of lightning graphics. I don't know if that was explained yet or not, but there ya' go...

Didn't Paul Bearer control the Undertaker? Maybe Paul Bearer makes the lightning? Maybe it comes out of his ass?

This is not directed at anybody except imafuckingmoron.

Now this might be how they do the Lightning gimmick for the Undertaker:

A rocket flies dragging a microfilament (thin wire) and gets upto a considerable height.

The wire provides a low resistance conduction pathway and creates a lightning strike.

This is explained in the book "State of Fear" by Michael Chrichton on pg.no.310 and pg.no.322

My mom ordered and taped Summerslam for me and when the Undertaker comes out two bolts of lightning strike the stage area "starting" the fires. However, I was in the MCI Arena at the time and I can tell you from a first-hand experience, that there was, in fact, NO LIGHTNING.
