View Full Version : Hopkins vs Taylor
Hopkins is getting ripped up right now. I'm not surprised. He's up there in age and Taylor is pretty talented.
Hopkins is making this a fight now. He's picking up some rounds. If he gets 10 and 11 this could come down to the final round.
Hopkins is definetly woken up. He's fighting big time right now.
Taylor wins split decision.
Hopkins came on strong in the last 4 rounds. Taylor basically just held on.

How long did Hopkins hold the title for?
that was his 21st defense of the Middleweight title
Rematch is set for October 1st
Apparently he has to wait until November now because Taylor needs 14 stiches in the head. I was kinda shocked at the result but only because I didn't think there were any middleweights of a good enough standard. Hopkins is 40, overrated and over-hyped. Any solid challenge now would be enough to have a good chance of beating him.
And just to add to the boxing theme, Danny Williams is a fucking gutless coward. Never have I seen such a friggin pussy in the boxing world. He doesn't deserve to fight again. You don't call in sick after weighing in for a fight. People pay good money for shows and if you can't make it, then fine. Promoters deserve the chance to replace with a good prepared opponent though.
Hopkins started to whip that kids ass in rounds 9-12. I think Hopkins will win the rematch. He just sat on his hands and didnt do shit for the first 7 rounds. Maybe winning one of those , but other then that he got whipped. Then he turned it on and started to dominate Taylor. The next fight is gunna be so much different. I think Hopkins is going to demolish this kid. Unless Taylor matures a whole hell of a lot during the next 5 months.

Hopkins fights dirty. Fucking headbutts, low blows, holding and punching, more head shots, kidney shots, low blows, he brings it all out. I thought Taylor beat him pretty fair and square. I don't know what world Hopkins was in to say he deserved a unanimous decision. I also don't see how a judge could have scored it 116-112 in Hopkins favor. He dominated 9-12 and I thought Taylor took 1-8; Hopkins might have took 8 but it was a close round (or maybe it was 7? 7 or 8) I thought Taylor deserved it though.
