This probably should go in the PPV thread, but it won't get read there...

Matt Hardy was apparently given the OK by WWE to appear on the TNA No Surrender PPV tonight to further establish his "outsider" character and maintain the image that his WWE angle is a legit shoot.

Hardy contacted TNA, telling them he would like to appear on the show, but has apparently been denied since he has no plans to work with TNA after tonight and would basically be using the promotion to further a WWE angle.

TNA issued the following press release earlier today:

On Sunday morning, it was reported across the internet that WWE star Matt Hardy would be appearing at tonight's "No Surrender" Pay-Per-View.

TNA Wrestling would like to officially address this rumor as totally false.

In an effort to further his own agenda, Hardy told several people last night he would be traveling to Orlando for "No Surrender"

TNA Wrestling would like to let our fans know this is not the case and he will not be appearing.

well...he didnt show up....

I was especting it before the show began but once Jarrett got in the ring and mad fun of the fans for believing that this whole Hardy/Edge Angle was real I knew he wouldnt show up.

Good choice by TNA

I dunno. Having Hardy come in and do a clean job to someone that wasn't already on the show, even if it was in an unhyped match might've worked in their favor, and they probably wouldn't have had to pay him a lot.

They should have made him job to David Young, it would have been classic.

so it looked like in another incident where TNA could've really benefited by having Hardy show up, therefore most likely causing a lot more views, especially for a replay of the show to see it then jobbing Hardy to some random TNA jobber was just tossed aside.

They focus too much on the now.

Plus, now if I'm Matt Hardy and I DO end up out of the WWE one day, I'm less likely to sign with TNA now.
