Mike Vanderjagt hired a kicking coach :y:

I doubt he will see the field in this game. Manning and the crew will be sticking it in the endzone all night long. I think we might be able to get Cory Saughter some good work against the champs.

LOL this is the reason the Colts will never win a championship. Their fans are looking foward to a REGULAR season game 4 months down the road. Big deal if they beat the Patriots. They aren't going to anyways, but so what if they do? Colts will just get it handed to them in the playoffs like every other year.

Steelers were pretty excited when they beat the Patriots in the regular season too. Good for them, I was more excited when the Patriots destoried them in their own stadium in the playoffs.

What difference does it make if 2 of 4 losses come at home. Every team loses a couple here and there. It happens. Its not a shock.

BTW I wouldnt know if New England can beat us here in INDY. Seeing as thought we've had to play you in New England for the past 3 years, both regular and postseason. I think Indy has had 1 home game in the last 5 games with New England. So ofcourse as a fan i cant wait for this game November 7th. When we beat you. It could mean home field advantage throughout the playoffs. So yes i do care about this game more then anything right now. And yes i do wanna win a championship.

And I guess you didn't get me mocking you up there, posting the thing about homefield advantage then posting the pic of the Colts losing - at home. I figured it would go right over your head

But hey the Dolphins beat the Pats!!!! :lol

Edge has a one year franchise contract and has already said he will report to camp.

I got the picture. I just didnt find it funny. I fail to see what a victory in the RCA dome, three years ago, has anything to do with November 7th 2005 monday night football. Are you trying to say New England has never lost at home or something? I'm not sure what you are getting at. I get the fact that New England beat Indy at home 3 years ago. How does that have anything to do with us possibly getting home field advantage this year?

Its easy having all of your games at home in December , protected by snow, rain , sleet, mud, wet horrible fields and just all out bad weather. Which is why i stress this game so much. When the playoffs come and you are not at home for the holidays. Everyone on this board will see a totally different team. A team that cant be protected by mother nature. Maybe perhaps, dare i say it, dry field conditions /gasp ! And your team will lose.

Last year opening week. We came pretty damn close to beating you. Infact you guys won the game , but we actually beat ourselves with silly turnovers. Its not happening this year.

And yes you did lose to the Dolphins. Probably will lose to them again.

Wouldn't your team be more protected by oh say a dome? don't the pats still play some of their games in normal conditions? Haven't the pats only lost like once at home in 3 years or so? I dunno I don't really see your point I suppose. You do tend to make eagles fans look awesome though.

You made my point. Yes we are more suited in a dome. Just like if you ask New England Fans , they'd tell you they are more suited in shitty ass weather. I dont remember the last time New England played a playoff game in non-shitty weather. They just dont. New England is a shitty state with shitty weather. Thats why Indianapolis needs to win November 7th.

And yes they do play some of there games in normal conditions. So do the Colts imagine that. Infact we played a game together in New England, in normal conditions and almost beat them. Obviously almost doesnt count. My point is ... We need home field advantage, because obviously we cant seem to pull a victory out in the dead of winter in New England, which is why this game is basically a playoff game for Indianapolis. You get me?

I fail to see what you're getting at. Home field advantage is surely important but its not like you're automatically granted it by beating the Patriots. Who gives a shit if you beat the Patriots? You're putting far too much emphasis on one game. So what if they beat the Pats? There are still 15 other games to play.

I can see it now: If the Pats win then you'll just be like, "Oh, well there are other games too ya know." If the Colts win it'll be "See, told you we could beat you!!!1!1!!" Just give it up.

Because i think both teams have 15 win capabilities. Which makes they're regular season matchup a big deal. It could possibly decide home field.

Thats the most ridiculous thing I've heard this week. Say you do beat the Patriots, and winning 15 games grants you home field advantage. There were still 14 other teams you had to beat to get that home field advantage, so you could say that every single one of those games could have possibly decided home field. You see what I'm saying?

I can see if they were the last game of the season and they both were 15-0, but it isn't so that point is just null.

I dont think 14 other teams are gunna have 12-15 wins at the end of the regular season. I think the Cheifs , Patriots and Colts will . We dont play the Cheifs in the regular season. Which is why this match with New England is very important. We have a chance to get one up on the Superbowl champs in the standing.

I get what you're saying. I'm saying that if we can gain a possibly tie breaker at the end of the season with the Patriots by beating them in the regular season. Then we must do it.

I'm not sure why you dont get this? Maybe the way i'm typing it out. This isnt nothing new. Its pretty well documented that theres a good chance that New England and Indianapolis may be facing eachother in the playoffs again. Since the Colts obviously have problems in New England ( this i admit ). Its important that they do everything in there power to not have to go to New England come playoff time. Which is why they need to secure atleast the tie breaker against New England.

Well unlike the Colts, they are able to perform under all conditions. That's football. Football should never be played indoors, I hate dome stadiums. The reason the Patriots beat the Colts has nothing to do with the weather coniditons either. It has to do with the fact that the Patriots are the best team in football, while the Colts aren't.

RP
07-19-2005, 03:04 AM
You have to be the most naive person in the world to think that weather conditions didnt play , at the least, a little bit of a factor in the playoff games. I dont doubt they are the best team. They have 3 rings. Cant argue that. But lets not be silly.

RP
07-19-2005, 03:06 AM
I agree with the Dome argument tho. I want nothing more , then to experience what fans like Pittsburgh , and New England get to experience. Outside weather. It would be awesome. It'd take a little bit of getting used to as far as the team goes, but it would be great for them.

The snow had the same effect on both teams. People act like just because the Patriots are from New England the dudes on the team are gonna be used to the weather. Not really, they aren't from here. Most of them can't stand the cold either. The bad weather hurtsPayton Manning passing attack, true but I thought the Colts could run all over the Patriots so why didn't they just hand it off to Edge?

RP
07-19-2005, 05:46 PM
You got me there. They ran all over you guys in the regular season game. I think they had something like 230 yards. Then when the Patriots dropped 8 guys back in the back field and started jamming at the line. They totally forgot about Edge. Almost as if they paniced or something. I'm not sure what happend there. I know a couple of things for sure though..

1) No Bruchi is really gunna hurt you guys. That guy was probably the biggest difference in the playoff games.

2) I hear you guys may be starting second string offensive lineman this year? Thats not to good. Indianapolis might have the quickest defensive line in the league and you know you're gunna have to double Freeney. At times even double teams didnt work on him. With Mathis on the otherside and Brock in the middle. These guys are quick and will give those second stringers fits.

But yah if we dont run the ball. We may not win. This isnt gunna be one of those Peyton Manning pitch and catch games you're used to seeing with every other opponent . We must run the ball.

RP
07-19-2005, 05:49 PM
Last year in the playoff game i was pleading with my TV for a couple of run plays. Maybe mix in a screen pass. I mean New England was leaving Edge wide open on flank screens. They just werent doing it. If Edge doesnt get 25 touches. We wont be moving the ball up and down the field. We have to make them worry about Edgerin James, before we can actually start throwing the ball up the field.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
07-20-2005, 12:36 AM
Thats what you get when you got a QB calling the plays. Manning wanted to show that HE could finally beat the Patriots, what he needs to realize is that the COLTS need beat the Patriots. I think the Pats have won the last 16 outta 18 or something like that.

RP
07-20-2005, 12:46 AM
Your defensive backfield was on there 3rd stringers. You had a WR playing DB in a playoff game. He chose majority passing plays because he thought he could exploit them. But when you dropped 8 back in the field and were only rushing 3 linemen . Colts just never adjusted.

Lotus
07-20-2005, 01:38 AM
As much as I hate the Pats, they are going to win. Too much of a team for the Colts.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
07-20-2005, 02:44 AM
Everything you bring up is just showing how much the Patriots outplayed the Colts. 3rd string defense backs, wr playing db and everyones favorite Qb Manning couldn't throw ONE touchdown pass? Patriots always drop dudes back they are playing teams like the Colts, Rams etc. They aren't the Eagles, their style isn't to blitz every play. Even when Edge had a huge game on the ground the Patriots still won. Maybe the Colts will FINALLY beat the Pats but I doubt. Every year the Patriots are suppose to lose but they just man up and win ball games.
