Eddie a convincing heel?

I just can't do it. He's putting on a real show out there every week, probably utilising some of the better material he's ever done, but I just can't do it.

I can't take Eddie seriously as a heel. It just seems like it's too soon after he's amazing face run for him to be involved in such a gritty angle with Mysterio - especially since now he's playing such a SOB, would-even-sell-out-his-own-mother character.

I keep on expecting him to break into his old latino heat habits and crack that cheeky grin. And it's really sad, because I can't appreciate this pretty awesome angle they've got going on.

Week after week, you can still detect cheers, even though SmackDown! is taped and presumeably at least somewhat editted.

I'd be confuised as to whether to cheer Eddie or not. I admire his talent and think he's one of the best in the business, but I'm not an idiot, I know that now he's a heel - his purpose is to get heat and get boo'd. So if I'm to support him as an entertainer, then I'm supposed to boo him, right?

On the other hand, it just seems so unnatural to boo a guy who's done some of the most entertaining stuff (skits and matches) of the last year. I'm confused.

I didn't think it'd work either, but he's amazed me and taken it to a whole new level that even I didn't expect. He is just sadistically, sardonically evil, and I'm loving it. It's awesome, and Eddie is once again proving why he is DA MAN.

Try looking at it this way...

When Eddie was the WWE Champion, it was easy to act like a babyface. He had everything and everybody was supporting him, etc. People knew about his 'demons' and knew he had overcome them...

...or so they thought.

Upon losing the title, surely he would start doubting himself. With the self doubt, the demons are resurfacing, and people boo him for it now that they realize he hasn't really overcome them.

Yes, that was all straight from my ass. Maybe it'll help you get into the character though.

Whenever I see Eddie now, I try to like him but then I laugh and say that he is an evil motherfucker. :cool:

I have mixed feelings about Eddie at the moment also, i just want him to pick up a victory over Rey already and reveal the secret,which by the way i find kinda stupid but only because it's taking so long to be revealed.I reckon they're just going to say Eddie is Dominic's father, which would be dumb if that happens.

I have always admired Eddie's character though, he always comes up with something new.
