What is he? Is he heel or tweener?
When he super-kicked Hogan two weeks ago I (like many of you on this board) was extremely excited about Shawn Michaels’ heel turn. His last ‘real’ heel run in late 1997 was extremely well done and I was hoping to see some semblance of that this time round.
But after the last two weeks of RAW his character hasn’t really changed too much. I’m not seeing the HBK of late 1997. I’m not expecting him to crotch chop and yell “Suck It!”, but I really expected the cocky chicken shit heel act he played to perfection.
Is this possibly a slow burn? Or is this the “new” Shawn Michaels?

I'm thinking he's more of a calm, collective type heel.

He looked like the same HBK we’ve seen the last few years. I'm starting to think this heel turn might have been in vain. I wouldn’t be surprised if he turned face again once this Hogan thing is through.

No I think this is smart booking, why must someone's overall dominer (sp?) change just because they turned heel? A good heel feels he's justified in his actions and that's what he's doing, right now there's no need for an overall character change IMO

He's the "Show Stopper", the "Icon", the "Main Event". He also wouldn't step into the ring with Hulk, because "I don't want to wait another two weeks for an answer."
Nope, not a heel at all there.

yeah, but with the exception of the last line he's acting the same, which I think is the point. What he's saying if different, but he's acting the same way he used to.

That's how most great workers are. There were a lot of similarities in face and heel Hogan, a lot of similarities in face and heel Austin, and face and heel Rock (at least after the "Rock Maivia" phase) WERE the same person.
A more modern example would be Eddie Guerrero. He still lies, cheats, and steals, and feels he's the best.
Jericho's another one.

Sorry have to dissagree with some of those:
Eddie is waaay more evil and intense now than he was when he was a face, his overall persona and facials are different from what they used to be.
Hogan was a MASSIVE change, how can you say when the nWo had the same Hogan? If it was the NWO would never of took off like it did, it was a far more cocky and arrogant Hogan.
Austin I agree with though, your spot on there, with the exception of WHAT!
Rocky's turn was more of a gradual thing, it wasn't an instant turn compared to the others, that was more because the crowd were warming to him

Eddie still used all the weapons and everything and was "Latino Heat". He's drawing boos for some of the same actions that would've gotten him cheered three months ago, such as the use of that lead pipe on SmackDown!
Hogan was always cocky and arrogant, talking about the whole world shaking at his feet and being "the immortal". He didn't have a pack of lackies, and he didn't attack the faces with such malice, but overall, same guy.

He'll probably get more heelish as it draws to Summerslam. I like this whole "I say I'm doing it for the fans to give them a great match, but really I'm a cocky prick who wants to beat you" storyline.
