View Full Version : Got a virus..what can I do?

Well I got some type of virus - I can't get on internet explorer or into My Documents, My Computer, Recycle Bin etc. I can still gain access to these folders if I go through "run" in the start menu.

When I click on any of the shit that doesnt work, a message pops up telling asking me if I want to send an error report. Sometimes the Error Report question pop up just comes randomly too.

Is there anything I can do without reformating? I have no idea where my XP disc is, I got this computer as a favor sort of so I don't really have any of the shit that came with it.

get the latest anti-virus from www.grisoft.com, put it on CD and install it in safe mode

how can you compare real work with a pussy job like fixing computers? You are right tho I cant fix a comp - I'm not a huge ass geek

Ill bring it into my aunts work and get fixed for free I guess.

I have no idea what happened. Out of nowhere a pop up comes up and goes "would you like to make IE your default browser?" I clicked no. Then clicked the IE icon and it worked. Same with the rest of the shit.

It just came back now though - I got three files on my desktop. Ones a BIN file named 293322. The other is a DAT file named 31242705. Then there is a text document named 51757006.

He's just jabbing at me. He thinks he can get under my skin by calling me a geek with a pussy ass job.

I've been working with computers for over 7 years now...I've already figured out and come to terms with the fact im a geek ;)

It would be like him making fun of me for being white...

Just like i'll bug him for being a dumb internet tough guy jock. Im sure it doesnt really bother him, but it gives me something to do to pass the time.
