First, I've been off for a while. Some of these somments date back about a week. Pardon if they've been mentioned.
Yup. You heard me right. Wrestling fans (The majority) are stupid. I find it amazing that all this programming that gets changed due to fan opinions, boycotts, how many programs get brought back, how many get axed, etc., because the fans do stuff, and wrestling fans watch like cattle.
It amazes me because even Star Trek fans found they had a limit, ending the series Enterprise before it was planned, yet wrestling fans still watch even when they hate the programming. Even the fucking Trekkies have figured it out. But back we go to the trough.
Don't get me wrong, I like the current position of wrestling overall, but I hear people bitch about how horrible the product is, and they keep fucking watching.
On the other hand, Edge cut the promo of his life last week, and all it took was for him to vent his frustration over getting ripped on by wrestling fans, so maybe we should bitch more. It seems to have given Edge the capacity to be entertaining. Last week was the first in a long time that I found him entertaining. So I guess we should keep ripping into him, but if you hate the product so much, TURN THE FUCKER OFF.
But keep taunting edge. Maybe he'll stay entertaining.
Part 2. You notice that Hassan got booed for saying how flawed America was, then JBL got booed for saying how GREAT America was? Okay, we boo Hassan and chant "USA!" because he's an evil American hating foreigner, then we turn around and boo JBL because...He says how great America is? :wtf:
Now I know it's deeper than that. It's because we don't like and are not supposed to like them. However, we boo and chant at "I have been treated poorly because of my color" and "America is great, isn't it?" simultaneously.

I dont thnk JBL was getting Booed for saying America was great. I think he was getting booed because hes a heel. Fans dont care have the time what the wrestler is really saying. If they are a heel then they get booed....face they get cheered.

KK,I think what you meant to say was 'marks are stupid'
But i get what your saying. especially about the boo'ing for saying how great america is and then chanting usa to someone pointing out the countries flaws.(which Hassan did perfectly i reckon) I also thought Edge stepped it up last night, but that is probably because of all our criticism so i hardly see how criticism is a bad thing, so like you said we should keep doing that until he's earned respect with good perfromances, instead of just letting him expect a free ride to the title.
The only reason i keep watching it though is because i know somewhere down the line there will be great matches.Like Eddie/Rey at GAB and Shawn Micheals V Shelton on Raw. I would've missed them if i stopped, thats why i keep watching WWE even when it is in the shithole.

I agree with Shaggy
Meanwhile I have no problems with WWE programing at the moment it entertains me. On the other hand TNA does not, therefore I do not watch it.

Really. How often do you see smarks give up on wrestling? How often do you see them refuse to watch, even though they think the biz is in the shitter?

I already told you why i watch it when its in the shitter,so that's probably the same reason smarks watch it aswell, i can't speak for them though.

It's not a new revalation, just something that has totally overwhelmed me of late.

We hear it all the time on here.
"I'm gonna quit watching."
"The product sucks."
Yet these same people keep showing up in Raw threads and making threads wherein they vent. Just ignore them. They're having their periods or something.

So if smarks keep watching shitty programming, how is it you think I mean "Marks are stupid?"
I mean "wrestling fans are stupid."
If you keep watching the shitty program for Rey and Eddie, you send the message that the programming is good. You make the WWE richer, because they're getting money off the ads you watch (Or don't).
And if you do it while bitching about the state of wrestling, you're an idiot. Mark or Smark or whatever you want to call yourself, this is not the act of an intelligent person. This is the action of someone who isn't smart enough to see the repercussions of his act, or how he (along with all the other stupid marks and smarks) actually helps enforce the programming he hates so much.
So please, if you don't get it, don't assume I mean something else. I specifically cited behaviour of Smarks, because I think they're a problem too.

It was only a joke when i said marks, because we all know how stupid they're when it comes to WWE.
I think your overeacting. I have to point out that i do not pay for ppv's, i only watch the ones that are for free. I didn't even order wrestlemania.I just watch the free shows on sky.
Also by your logic, say like you supported a team, and then they were in the shitter, would you just stop supporting them?I've seen my team go through some of the most humiliating shit ever yet i can't stop supporting them. It's the same thing.

Since when have coaches played based on what was drawing ratings?]
Of course "In the shitter" in sports generally means that they're losing. A losing team can still be entertaining. Since wrestling is entertainment, not a sport, the primary determination of its success IS the entertainment value.
Seriously, now you're just reaching to explain stupidity. If you want some touchy-feely chick flick response, go talk to Lammy and have a good cry over some herbal tea. You're basically asking to excuse stupidity, because your explanation still endorses it.
Of course, since the attendance of games drops, and ticket prices drop, and even ratings drop on smaller teams, maybe you're onto something. Maybe sports fans who will watch a cripple in right field fumble the ball for the 30th time in a game in the name of "Support" need to be bashed over the head with a shovel. However, that's really none of my concern.
Wrestling by nature panders to the fans. That's why they get paid to perform, not to push for the belt. They're dancers/actors, not atheletes in terms of competitive sports.
Sorry, at least the marks will wander away from the business when it's boring. "Stupid" though they may be, at least they have the common sense to leave when a program designed for entertainment is not entertaining.

Or perhaps during a match featuring midgets and a guy in pyjamas.

Could be worse. You could be the stupid fuckers cheering it.
I'm so glad I taped Raw last night. MAN was I glad I could skip that shit.

I agree with KK. It is ridiculous. That's the very reason I've started skipping Raw and Smackdown more often, especially since I can record it with my DVR.

I always think marks are stupid everytime (quick example) they chant 'you suck' at Kurt freaking Angle. COME ON. Guys like Orlando Jordan, Tyson Tomko and Chris Masters don't get 'you suck' chants, whereas Kurt does. :nono:

Because the best chant you can give a guy who absolutely sucks is no chant at all. Either that or a Zzzzzzzzzzz chant, cuz they're boring.

Yea I agree with your point about how annoying it is when fans constantly complain about the product but continue to watch. What makes me even more irritated is when these people bitch but don't watch any of the many alternatives out there. This isn't just among marks either... people here do this as well.

Kurt loves those chants though

If you were a part of the Other Arena (www.otherarena.com) a couple of years ago, plenty of smarks (older ones, too) were jumping off the bandwagon and calling it quits.
I think your definition of stupid really defines loyalty. I'm loyal to the product. I've been a fan of WWE for over 13 years and I'm simply afraid to stop watching, like I did for awhile back in 1997. Oh yeah, big mistake. I missed the "Austin 3:16" speech and the return of L.O.D. (i think it was 1997...might've been 1996). Then I stopped watching in 2003/04 and look what I missed...Goldberg and Brock having a laughably shiitty last match and Eddie and Benoit as champions.
So I think I'll keep on watching until something entertaining comes on. I'm simply afraid to stop watching for fear that I'll miss the next "big thing", so to speak.

Exactly my reasoning. It's not stupidity at all, atleast i don't buy PPV's.(i'm not too bothered if i miss something great on ppv, because if i do, i could get it cheaper when it comes out on tape if its that good)
KK, i don't know why your getting so angry about it, did i piss you off? That seems rather easy to do.Calm down man.
