The direction of the company is strongly personified through their champions and their contenders... It is clear right now who the company wants to push and some of these choices make sense, whereas others are just a waste of space...

ON RAW:

WWE Title
Right now, the focus on RAW is strongly on John Cena... Shawn Michaels is also becoming a more controversial character that brings more to the table... They are pushing Chris Jericho as a contender and I'm really liking him... He reminds me of Owen Hart (RIP)... I would love to see a swerve with Jericho winning at SS and with Bischoff having his back, it could be an exciting new direction for the show... It is great to see HHH taking a break from television... This is really allowing for something new and prosperous to take place... Kurt Angle is currently being used for other projects on RAW, however he should be brought back into the title picture by WM... Shelton-Angle at WM = money... It also looks like Edge is in line for a push and I honestly can't stand him or Lita or the whole storyline with Hardy altogether... His work is sub-par and he should be featured in the IC division at best... Edge-Cena could be a good feud if Edge picks up his work and stops relying on X-Pac heel heat... Hopefully, in the future, Jericho, Shelton and RVD are featured as prominent main eventers...

IC Title
This division is actually pretty strong, however not a lot of title matches are taking place... Shelton is perfect for the division at this point and a WWE title win at WM could elevate him to a new status... Carlito is a really entertaining new star and although he has yet to put on any breakout matches, his work is very funny and he can carry the division... Kane and Big Show are no longer "main event" material... Maybe you can start putting them into the IC title scene, along with Edge  ... Guys like Viscera, Chris Masters and Snitsky seem to be featured on RAW all the time and they are never used in the division... Snitsky/Masters could be a good long-term team... Viscera is :-\ ... I'd like to see Danny Basham, Kerwin White, Rob Conway and Rene Dupree utilized as strong contenders with TV time on RAW because they are better than a lot of what's on... Especially Chavo and Conway... The direction of Tajiri is odd altogether and he truly belongs on SD! with the likes of Nunzio, London, Crazy, Juvi, Kazarian, etc. Maybe if Eugene can develop less of a one-dimensional character, he can be part of the division in the near future...

Tag-Team Title
Really struggling... I really wanted Hurricane/Rosey/Stacy to trade with MNM, but it never happened and Hurricane is stuck on RAW... The only other legitimate tag-team is the Heart Throbs and they seem to be getting TV time, which is good, only to get squashed, which is bad... I would put Snitsky/Masters on as a permanent tag-team and maybe even as champions because there desperately needs to be something new... Tomko really needs a partner too if he's going to stay around... Someone like Luther Reigns perhaps since I have a newfound love for the guy after watching the fat guy and his tape of his camera getting fucked... Luther = ratings... :-\ Viscera and Val Venis should really become a permanent team as well... Recreating a tag-team division could actually be exciting... There is also the prospect of Doring/Roadkill, Mahoney/Rotten, Cade/Rhodes and Capotelli/someone coming in as tag-teams... The idea of recreating a tag-team division is still possible...

Women's Title
Has been killed for a very long time and they can scrap the title altogether... They got rid of all the women and I don't even mind as long as the title is gone, however if they keep Christy/Trish/Victoria around as a "women's title" division, I'll be fairly disappointed... It's just not entertaining and it's all been said and done...

ON SD!:

World Title
Batista and JBL being featured right now is actually good television... JBL is hilarious and Batista is not bad... The match at GAB wasn't the end of the world either contrary to all these flames... It was a different kind of main event, but whatever... I'd personally put the title on Taker at Summerslam to set up an Orton/Taker feud for the title... Down the road, Batista/Lesnar feuding for the title could be good money... Bringing Eddie and Benoit back into the title picture down the road is not a bad idea... Pushing Christian into the title picture for next year's WM is also a great option... The talent is there, it's just that a lot of this has already been said and done...

United States Title
They have to take the title off Jordan right away... I'd like to see it happen this week on SD! in a rematch from GAB... Booker T should carry the division because he's still very over and a legitimate star, however he's lost the star power and the momentum that it takes to carry the brand as World champion... Booker as US champion is key... If Hassan comes back, he could make a great US champion... While guys like Benoit, Eddie and Christian are not involved in the main event picture, they can carry the division... Ultimately, Christian deserves to make it to star status and Benoit and Eddie are good to carry any division since they both carried their respective brands last year as champions heading out of WM... Rey Mysterio winning the title at some point could also be something new... William Regal and Doug Basham deserve strong midcard pushes in the future as well...

Tag-Team Title
MNM is a strong team and I personally don't mind Animal coming back permanently to team with Heidenreich... They get a huge pop and seem to work well together... The opener at GAB was actually pretty exciting... They desperately need to build new tag-teams, though... I would put Psicosis/Crazy/Juventud into an angle where they win the titles and always switch the two people that wrestle... That could also be something new... Richards/Nova as a permanent team is also quality stuff... With Mexicools, bWo, MNM and LOD 2005, they are at least building towards a division... Big Vito seems to be coming in soon so teaming him with Nunzio against Mexicools in a tag title feud could be quality stuff... The more teams, the better.... Let's not forget about the teams that are working dark matches (Mahoney/Rotten, Doring/Roadkill, Rhodes/Cade, etc)... Why does Sylvain Grenier still have a job? :shifty:

Cruiserweight Title
London being featured is good stuff... I'd like to see Mexicools break up down the road and have 3-way, 4-way matches in the division... With Kazarian coming in, it adds even more dimension to the division... Nunzio is always around, as is Funaki... S2H is :-\ ... Tajiri and Hurricane coming to SD! down the road is a good idea and bringing in guys like Kid Kash is also a step into the right direction... Chavo deserves his push... Rey can also come back to the division at any time... Rey-Juvi, Rey-Psicosis, Rey-London, Rey-Crazy, Rey-Tajiri, Rey-Kash, Rey-Kazarian, it's all money in the bank...

Yes, I am excited with this Cena / Jericho feud compared to yet another Triple H feud. Having him off TV has been the greatest thing since the last time he was away.

Having some swerves at SummerSlam with Taker and Jericho winning gold could bring back some of the "anything can happen in WWE" atmoshpere... Most of the title reigns or wins lately have been very predictable... Jericho can carry RAW with his heel work as champion...

Cool analysis, SGD. The title scene on Smackdown seems to be developing nicely with the arrival of the new stables and new cruiserweights. While I hate to see Christian depushed to the level of US Champ (I mean, he had that long IC reign already; that should count), it may be the thing that restores glory to the belt after the OJ reign.

Also, if Animal and Heidenreich are to be a permanent tag team, Road Warrior Heidenreich needs to don the paint and spikes, gosh darn it! :)

Batista has his hands full as champion right now, so Christian won't be winning the belt anytime soon... Having feuds for the U.S. title with the likes of Christian, Booker T, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit can restore a lot of credibility in the title... Orlando Jordan is okay, but he was shoved down our throats and nobody ever wanted him as a champion... His reign should have ended a long time ago, even against someone like Heidenreich...
