Both of them have Hannibal Lecter (even if his last name is spilled with a K in Manhunter) but Anthony Hopkins is definitely a lot more popular then Brian Cox since SOTL got a lot more publicity. IMO Manhunter is a lot better and I prefer Cox's portrayal of Lecter since it's a lot closer to the Harris's novels not to mention a lot less theatrical. He doesn't need to act like a looney, it's his realisim that is so terrifying. I also prefer the way "The Toothfairy" is actually ugly like he's supposed to be in the story. The only advantage RD has is Harvey Keitel as Jack Crawford.

Manhunter. I thought William Petersen was a lot better than Ed Norton. Also, I'm a big Michael Mann fan. But Red Dragon surprisingly wasn't bad either, I thought.

Hannibal sucks, however.

I liked Red Dragon way better. But I saw it before Manhunter so I dunno.

As great an actor as Ed Norton is, I didn't think he played a convincing Will Graham.

Also, yeah, Ralph Fiennes is way too beautiful to have played Dolarhyde.

Ive yet to see Manhunter...i know...its sad.....but I have seen Red Dragon before and I loved it.

I guess I need to go rent Manhunter one of these days. I meant to before but eventually other movies took its place.

I found Manhunter really hard to watch after seeing Red Dragon, mainly since I don't like watching movie adaptions of books. So I didn't really pay much attention.

I should probably give it another shot though, I'm quite a fan of Brian Cox and William Petersen...
