I'm not talking about Old School Punk like the Ramones, DK, Clash etc etc.
I'm talking about the mid-school punk like NOFX, No Use For a Name, No fun at all, Lagwagon and all that.
It seems that most "punk" music produced these days is more of a soft punk, sometimes pop punk, but I'm not really trying to count that. I'm regarding alot of the new emoish kind of bands as "punk" here, but where is the great fast music gone?
Can anyone recommend me some new punk music that follows the trends of the mid age style of punk? Decent punk!
Looking for boobies.

Pennywise, Bad Religion, Dropkick Murphys still produce the same tune they always have (a similar tune if it's not the exact same)... I believe each of those bands have new or newish albums out now, available for download anyway.

Yeah, I've just downloaded the new pennywise album, gonna give it a listen to now, but I'm just wondering if there are any newish bands making music like that?!
Looking for boobies.

Ahhh newish bands. That's a good question, I might have to look into it. Tell us if the new Pennywise cd is good or not as well. :)

I've listened to a few tracks, still sounds like pennywise :D Seems pretty good.
Looking for boobies.

Nice. :D
I could rattle off a lot of bands that fit the description, but they've all been around for a good while. Rise Against are reasonbly new. A lot newer than the other punk bands.

In fact, if you learn the chord changes for one Murphys song, you know the chrods for about 30 of them. :D

Yes. They're just not getting the same hype that the New Wave Wannabes are getting. Now if only my HD hadn't died. :'(

It's definitely not as popular as it used to be. It's still there though, you just gotta know where to find it ;)

yeah i was thinking the same thing. pretty much every cd i have in my car is from the same bands i listened to when i first got into punk about 10 years ago(pennywise, bad religion, nofx, h20, bouncing souls). punk just aint the same
the new pennywise sounds great from what i hear. i got the rise against cd and its pretty damn good, check that out.
gotta plug my boys band, check out lastcallbrawl.net they got a couple mp3's up, they just opened for H20 and played a show with Dropkicks and are gonna be on a few punk/hardcore comps.
if you like h20 watch out for their new album, i was talking with Adam(bass) at their show and told him the last album sucked, he agreed and said the new one will be more like FTTW and thicker than water.
check out epitaph.com to find some new bands, they usualy have a few mps'3 up. just gotta sift though all the emo crap they sign now.
i realy feel old when i start sayin music aint what it used to be when i was a kid

Err...Only about a hundred gigs of music. Nothing major. ;)
Had a large collection of various genres, just based on songs that sounded good. Problem is,m I don't know who did the majority of 'em. I downloaded rcommended records and kept what I liked on my HD.
Plus the shit from my own colection, but who cares about that?
Anyway, I had some of that middleground stuff. Not huge on a lot of the bands who seem to make noise for the sake of noise, but there were some quality bands in that sorta spirit.
And sadly, since NOFX is the only of those names I can place, can't be totally sure that we're talking the same genre. :D

Thrice and perhaps Thursday, aren't exactly the genre he's looking for though. But yes, they are great stuff. :D

And whatever happened to disco? And I'm not talking about Old School Disco like Gloria Gaynor etc. etc.
I'm talking about the mid-school disco like Andy Gibb, The Trammps and all that.
It seems that most "disco" music produced these days is more of a soft disco, sometimes pop disco, but I'm not really trying to count that. I'm regarding alot of the new danceish kind of bands as "disco" here, but where is the great fast music gone?

I love you, Loopy.
Though Disco is now called Techno or Hip-hop. Basically anything you play in a club is the bastard child of disco.
