View Full Version : Is it just me, or are the lower card divisions repairable?

I dunno, just thought I'd start something here to discuss how fixable the tag team and cruiserweight divisions are. Here's how I see things possibly shaping up if the WWE buckles down and fills some slots.

Cruiserweight Division
Paul London
Nunzio
Matt Striker
Spanky
Jamie Noble
Juventud
Funaki
Khosrow Daivari
Simon Dean/Hollywood Nova

WWE Tag Team Division
Heidenreich & Animal
MNM
William Regal & Scotty 2 Hotty
bWo (Stevie Richards & The Blue Meanie)
The Mexicools (Super Crazy & Psicosis)
The FBI (Johnny Swinger & Big Vito)
The Thrillseekers (Matt Cappotelli & Johnny Jeter)
Danny Doring & Roadkill
The Christian Coalition (Two developmental guys the WWE is going to bring up. Just have them play the Shelton & Charlie to Christian's Kurt.)

World Tag Team Division
The Hurricane & Rosey
The Heart Throbs
VV & TT (Val Venis & Tyson Tomko)
The Shane Twins
Danny Basham & Kerwin White
Balls Mahoney & Axl Rotten
The Highlanders
TNT (Garrison Cade & Trevor Rhodes, I think)

-Teaming Val Venis & Tyson Tomko together gives both guys something to do. Val Venis isn't on the rise anywhere, unlike Christian, which allows full-dedication to the tag team. Tyson Tomko confessing to Val Venis that he wants to be a porn star would be compellivision, IMO.)

-I hate myself for delaying the singles pushes of Danny Basham and Kerwin White respecively, but neither guy is being used at the moment, and it capitalises on Chavo's awesome gimmick. There is no shame in being a tag team guy. Well not as long as there is a tag team division worth competing in. Kerwin and Danny are both recognisable, and together they could add some depth to the tag team division.

So yeah. The divisions are OK, IMO. They just need some attention. Thoughts?

Instead of Daivari, I'd have listed Frankie Kazarian, since he's been blowing up Velocity lately and is clearly the only cruiserweight they are even attempting to get over.

And yes, there's enough talent on the roster that the tag team and cruiser divisions would be entertaining and produce some good matches if the WWE writers would take the time to foucs on developing feuds and storylines for those titles or even with any of the competitiors. But that's pretty much the problem, isn't it?

EVERYTHING is repairable. I'm kind of tired of peopl whining that this or that will "never be taken seriously again" by the fans. It's bullshit.

Yeah, I'm not sure I agree with the Christian Coalition, not because I don't like Christian, but because Christian doesn't have the credentials Kurt had when Team Angle was formed. Kurt was already a former WWE Champion and an Olympic Gold Medalist. Christian's only held the Tag Team Title on many occasions in addition to a few Intercontinental and European Title runs and other lower titles.

I don't think it'd quite work out.

Aren't you the same guy that constantly talks about how the WWE has no idea what they're doing? Just checking.

I'm someone currently entertained by the product. I have a lack of faith in the WWE, but that doesn't make it beyond repair by any stretch. They've made significant improvements in their programming of late, so it's hardly like it's impossible for them to repair the undercard.

No, I don't "Constantly" talk about how the WWE has no idea what they're doing. In fact, have you seen my thread "Wrestling fans are stupid," or the fallout from it?

That being said, I do lack a lot of faith in the WWE, but that's kind of irrelevant to this discussion as to whether or not it COULD be repaired. But thanks for your point. Its pointlessness was...Pointy...

Jobber stables always work well. bWo, the RTC, and Hell, everyone's calling for a return of the Truth Commission. ;)

Nah, I didn't see that thread. Or the fallout for that matter. I just saw some of your posts recently about Rob Conway and the possible return of the Horsemen. My bad. Should have researched you better, you impenetrable wrestling god.

Just kidding, we all know you are penetrated quite easily.

That was what I was gonna post!

Really, if they set their mind to it, they can make anything look good. It's whether they want to or not. Well, not necessarily the current writers, but it's possible. Just get the right people and the right intentions.

I mean, I've always figured that if posters around here could do it, then wrestling writers should, right? That's why it's so frustrating when I don't see it happening. The tag division especially irks me... it's like they don't even try or care, and that's just unacceptable.

But any division or character can be pushed if done correctly. Hell... they got JBL to be credible eventually, right? So anyone can be made to look good... if Vince and the writers so desire.

It's whether they want to or not.

I highly doubt a meeting ever happened where one person was like "Hey, let's fix the midcard and the tag team divisions" and another person was just like "Nah".

Well, the posters around here WANT it. The writers don't see it as necessary. And yet, even the midcard is weak enough that no credible challengers will come up for the title...

Look, for the last time

The WWE does not give a SHIT about the crusierweight division. It will never be a main priority of any show.

Whether or not the writers care about it is not the issue I'm discussing. They obviously don't. I was just pointing out that ALL the pieces to making some stellar divisions are there, yet the WWE constantly ignores them.

I don't know how I forgot Frankie Kazarian. He'd be in the Cruiserweight Division for sure.
