Second best fighting game series, IMO.
Right below Street Fighter.
YOUR OPINIONS???
What Would Kevin Do?

'99 and '00 were the best I think :y:

I'd put them as the No. 2 as well. SNK's most consistent series.
Speaking of which, though '00/'01 US version is CRAP, if you can find it, definitely pick up KOF '02/'03 for PS2. No editing, all the action.

IMO, 2001 was the best. I love the CVS-style Ratio System.
Own bitches with my K9999 and K' team.

I, however, can't stand ANY of SNK's bosses.
Is there like a law somewhere saying that most of their attacks are 5613216851231 hit combos?
Igniz, for instance.
Grant and Geese are the only two I can think of that don't.

IMO, the series is better done than Street Fighter in almost every way. Street Fighter is only as popular as it is due to the flashiness of their graphics and a better marketing program.
I am not all that familiar with all the SNK games, but thanks to my brothers' ROMS and actually going to an arcade for the first time in like 5 years, I have come to appreciate SNK games more.
Also, Guilty Gear > KOF > Street Fighter
Also, someone link me to a site where I can but a controller-to-USB port thingy so I can play with a controller. Playstation or SNES preferred.

Your search - "controller-to-USB port thingy" - did not match any documents.
Sorry Funky. :-\

Why did everyone think Maximum Impact sucked? Besides the stupid storyline (uncharacteristic on SNK's part) I enjoyed it.

I didn't think it sucked.
I just didn't like it as much as the other KOF games.
I'm a 2D fan.
BTW, Who's gonna get KOF XI?

Maximum Impact was horrible. I ended up taking it back to Gamestop for a full refund within about 2 days.

I was in an arcade last Thursday and me and a friend saw a KOF 2002 machine just start up randomly.
I started playing against the computer when I noticed there were still 16 credits in it.
A good time was had.
I didn't like 2001, 2000 was better, and 1999 is almost as good as that.
2003 and 2004 are meant to be coming out on home consoles soon I think. Will be nice.

What's the main difference between 2002 and 2003 then?

I heard 2003 now have one round fights with switching on the fly implemented.
ie. Radically different gameplay.

I'm not a big fan of tag team matches like that. I.E: Marvel vs. Capcom style.
I prefer the old style of turn taking.

Ah, could be a nice change, but then again could ruin things, may give it a try when it finally comes out anyway.
Still want 2002 to come out (they're coming out seperately for some reason), it's been pushed back from the sounds of things
