right now...
fighting for a playoff spot.
all these other teams are doing great things by adding some new better players...while the canucks are just retaining their players.

yeah, I would guess anywhere from 3rd to 8th depends on what happens with Bertuzzi and what they decide to do with their goalie situation.

Fresh NHL, im willing to give Cloutier another season to show he isnt a bust. He's been off for a year, is at that age where goalies learn better, first half of this season is going to be important...especially since I dont think Nonis thinks as highly of Cloutier as Burke did...

I think I am going with 6th Place in the West for the Canucks. My not so big surprise in the West is the return to glory of the Edmonton Oilers(3rd place). Calgary will also make the playoffs(7th or 8th).
In the East it will be Ottawa & Philly 1 and 2. Not because I'm a homer, but I think that the new rules make Ottawa the team to beat this upcoming season. Leafs will make the playoffs, but I'm thinking they will be near the bottom 7th or 8th. Personally I'm hoping they come in 8th so we can knock their asses out of the playoffs finally. I'd like to say that the Habs make it to the playoffs this year, unfortunately I don't think they will.

Do you think Bertuzzi loses some of his fire now? I mean he is such a good player a lot due to his aggression, and you have to wonder if that will stick in the back of his mind or if he will be able to go out and play just as hard and angry as he always does.

I dont think his "fire" will be questioned, but even Bettman has said that Bertuzzi is being held to a different set of standards than everyone else this season...a probation if you will. Thats going to affect his game, as 90% of what he does is done with aggression.
