View Full Version : I wonder if Scotty 2 Hotty hates John Cena.

In all seriousness, could Scotty 2 Hotty have been WWE Champion right now if they would've wrote out freestyles for him and just all around given him the same attention they gave Cena? He had the "white rapper" gimmick long before Cena and I was just thinking if after Too Cool had disbanded if they would have made Scotty stop wearing the goofy outfits, give him a haircut, have him shave and just pretty much do the WWE-written freestyles (like Cena's doing now I believe), would he have been a major draw and be right where Cena is now? Also note that his in ring ability is MUCH better than Cena's.

Exactly.
its a shame TNA hasn't utilized him as the face of the company. Remember when TNA first debuted?
At that time, Ron Killings was arguably the hottest star in the company, and was massively over with the fans...this was pre-Cena, btw.

Scotty doesn't have the build to be WWE champion or the skill. I could see a guy like Rey becoming champ for a month or two because of his skill set

People will get sick of the rap crap soon enough. Scotty is a great jobber but thats all he will be. Angle needs to be the champ in the worst way.

Scotty...is more of a "hype man". He rarely talked, if ever, while adopting the "Too Cool" gimmick (which was better than the quasi-gay gimmick he and Sexay had in Too Much). Though, it was cool for that brief moment he was feuding with Malenko for the Light Heavyweight belt.

P.N. News is probably mad that he beat Diamond Dallas Page quite a bit during the early 90's yet DDP is a former 3-time WCW Champion.

To me he was much more of the suburban fan...reminded me more of B-Rad from Malbiu's Most Wanted. If you were going to say if he was anything in the community it would be a break dancer because he did the worm and danced but other than that he was much more of a poser. It was cool when he was Light Heavyweight champion

I agree, it was cool. He was super over, but he's just been injured too many times and hasn't been going anywhere for years.
But I can still remember his matches with Malenko... now those were fucking great.

I think Too Much was pulled off WAY better than Too Cool. I laughed very hard at Too Much, but I don't think I ever even cracked a smile at Too Cool. Then they added Rikishi and I just wanted to stab things.

Oh man! He sucked the biggest balls in the WWE. Remember 'Let's get rowdy?'. What the fuck? No, how about lets get fired and piss off to TNA where I don't have to deal with your backflips and splits and pretend that its actually wrestling?

Rikishi was over big time back then. Its lucky for us he couldn't pull off being a heel or else he'd still be in a job, or even in the main event scene.

I think he was doing a pretty good job at being a heel. I just think the busted ear drum thanks to Austin, and then the ddt by Undertaker, in Rikishi's first match back that fucked up his shoulder for 8 months killed every bit of momentum that he had. He never really recovered, kind of simular to Edge, in the fact I do not believe he has had a good match since before his neck injury back in early 2003.

Meh, he had a tough break with injuries. But it doesn't excuse his poor attempt at being the heel, and two things stand out why -
1) For months and months his gimmick was basically that he was fat and he danced (and he shoved his ass in people's faces). So whenever I saw him cutting a promo on Austin, well, all I wanted to see was him to dance. First impressions matter.
2) HHH stole all of his heat when it turned out that it was him all along. What was the point? Did HHH feel his top heel spot was really under threat from a fat dancer who put his ass in people's faces? In the end, Rikishi was an accessory to the deed which made him a heel in the first place, and his motives were far too clouded for me to understand why he did it, and hence, why I should boo him.
...oh, and Scotty blows. :D
