View Full Version : Wrestlers Discussion Day One: Christian

This is a thread to discuss wrestlers in the WWE and where you can see them going. And day one is my favourite peep: Christian.

Christian is a heel that is so entertaining, he's often cheered more than the faces. Though popular, the WWE seems to be ignoring the crowds chants and are making him job, apart from the cheap win on Booker T, Christian has not won a match in a long time.

A feud with John Cena was brewing since Royal Rumble 05. Most fans were looking for Christian to move to Smackdown and face Cena for the title, but it all went quite wrong. Cena moved to Raw, and the WWE didn't have enough confidence in Christian to let him have a match alone with Cena as they put Jericho in the match.

Christian's move to Raw hasn't really helped him or buried him. It's equal at the moment.

Christian getting his own chat show helped him as he's gold on the mic. and is now guaranteed air time.

Pros:
He has his own chat show.
Regualar TV time.

Cons:
Has no feuds lined up at the moment.
Must stop losing.

---------------------------------------------------------

That's my thoughts, what are your thoughts on Smackdown's Captain Charisma?

I hope he doesnt get passed for the strap. He's gold on the mic and smooth in the ring. I would much rather see Christian as the champ then Batista.
Vote for me for best post of the year! KINGLACOSTE

Well he should be preparing to face John Cena for the WWE title in the main event of the second biggest PPV of the year. Instead, we are two weeks away from Summer Slam and he has nothing to do. Hopefully the WWE will not be able to ignore all the chants for too much longer and realise that CC can step up into the main event.

He's pretty much done at this point. This was the WWE's perfect oppurtunity to pull the trigger on a Main Event run for Christian and they chose not too. You realize that it's never going to be in thier plans to have Christian have a Title run or be a top guy. He got up there and then Batista killed him. That's all she wrote.

Sad, but true.. It's over for CC, IMO. It's a damned shame but he won't be the first guy that WWE didn't use to their full potential:

K-Kwik
Jerry Lynn
Booker T
Lance Storm
Sean O'Haire
Ted DiBiase
Spanky
Chris Jericho
Devon Storm
Taka Michinoku
Lenny Lane
Raven
Perry Saturn
Dean Malenko
Stevie Richards

Feel free to add to this...

During this weeks Smackdown! I got the feeling that he could face Mysterio at Summerslam, but w/ this whole Eddie-pappi thing it doesn't look too good for Captain Charisma having a scheduled match at Summerslam...hopefully a run in that leads somewhere.

For one, you're bitching about my "bitching."

I mean, while it is totally unreasonable to request that we don't have 70 "X of the day" threads, the fact that you are complaining about my complaining is supremely ironic.

The problem isn't with what I want to read, the problem is with what it does to the board.

I know. Totally unreasonable.

ya they droped the ball with Christian. As much as I love Jericho Christian should be facing Cena for the WWE title.

I know thismay be unpopular opinion, but I think it was a wise move to get Christian taken outof the feud with Cena. They had great chemistry together through the safeguard of being on separate brands, but when they got together it didn't work too well, IMO. Could have been a great feud, but I think it will turn out better if done next year, or the year after.

Christian is still awesome, and hopefully they run with the Triple Threat they had for the US Title at house shows recently, because by accounts it was a great match. That's not going to do muh in the long-term for Christian, though. Captain Charisma NEEDS a role to play at Summerslam, that isn't confined to wrestling in a meaningless match. He needs a program that makes us SCREAM for a match, and I think that could be with one man who has had great chemistry with Christian in the past, only to have the feud slip through our fingers causing the peeps to uproar.

I would mark out like a little bitch if Christian cost John Cena the WWE Title at Summerslam. It won't happen. A lot of people will say it's a bad business move, and that is will make too many fans unhappy. You have to keep in mind the fanbase Christian has, though. It would be awesome to see Christian make war with Cena because their feud didn't take off. A war between The Christian Coalition and the Chain Gang would be all shades of greatness, and I for one hope the WWE go through with it.

Cena trying to get Christian's blood by appearing on SD!, and trying to get CC drafted back to RAW, or trying to get himself drafted to SD!. A John Cena/Women's Division trade for Muhammad Hassan, Rey Mysterio and the Cruiserweight Division would shake things up, and it may leave the flagship without a top star for a while, but it would be a great chance to further establish your Big Shows, Edges, Chris Jericho, Kanes, Shelton Benjamins, etc. Bring in Brock Lesnar to join Rey Mysterio, and you have a decent roster until Cena makes his comeback to feud with the top heel heading into WrestleMania 22.

Or you can have Christian help out his "brother", Edge, at Summerslam, starting a Christian/Matt Hardy feud. Christian has the mic skills to really get a great feud out of Hardy. I'm not saying Edge doesn't, but he's playing more of the badass heel that's prided himself on breaking out and really reaching World Championship level. The feud seems out of his character, and seems to detract from his main event push. Hardy on the other hand needs to have that breakout match, and that probably isn't against another rising star. Both Matt Hardy and Christian have been hot discussion points in the wrestling world earlier this year, and both have fizzled down with fresher news and bad creative decisions holding them back. These two could re-focus each other to the rise, and I think that is what these guys need more than anything on SD!.

With this scenario, you get Matt Hardy as another face on SmackDown!, Edge able to challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship, Christian gets a feud to re-focus him, and we may even see the revival of Mattitude (I don't think it could happen on RAW).
