Ellis Hobbs should be crazy quick in Madden, rookie corner for the Pats. If he isn't that they fucked up.

TY LAW

Last time Ty Law played for the Patriots is when they lost to the Steelers during the regular season.

I think they did alright without him (Colts scored 3 points, that whole winning the Superbowl thing)

Losing Ty Law doesn't mean anything, I like how Skip Bayless (SP?) on Morning Pizza was making it seem like it the biggest loss the Patriots had this offseason

Stima totally killed this topic by talking about his team. He learns from the best obviously.;) Keep in mind they still have Troy Brown and David Terrell too. Johnson seems like he could be good, but he's probably gunna have to learn to tackle on kickoff returns if he wants to make the team. I dont know about Branch tho he does manage to burn the Colts on a repeat basis.

As far as T.O, I'm sick of hearing about it honestly. I cant beleive he is such a fucking cry baby. He seriously needs to take a step back and take a good hard look at what he has become . I understand he probably doesnt give a shit , but if i was in his shoes and i took a step back and had a look at what i had become, i'd be disgusted.

If there was one way to totally mis-handle a situation , T.O found it. If he just shut his mouth and came back this season and had another Pro Bowl year and possibly a SuperBowl ring, he could have asked for a re-working of his contract and the Eagles probably would have happily oblige. Instead he is acting like a punk bitch. I love the fact the Philly wont trade him. The best punishment for this guy is to make him have to play with his teamates now. Sure he probably will go out and put up Pro Bowl numbers and the fans will cheer, but just the fact that he has to think about how childish he was and play with his teamates after the fact, has to make him feel like a real peice of shit deep down inside. I dont care how much money you make. If people ( obviously ) dont like you . It affects you. Anyone that says it doesnt affect you is a lying jackass. Its beyond stupid anymore. Its to the point where i dont care. T. O could walk into the Philly training camp and cold cock McNabb and i would not care. I bet Baltimore is breathing a huge sigh of relief right now.

BTW. I havent heard or seen anyone mention this before so i'll go ahead and say it. Can someone drop a random piss test on T.O now please. Under Armor is not that flattering. He's starting to make David Boston look like Chris Rock.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
08-11-2005, 02:11 AM
Watson on the IR? I don't think so

The offense is better because the Patriots back up running back is actually a back up running back, not a 3rd down back. That will also make Faulk better because he can just do what he does best - play running back on 3rd down. Patten is gone but they have added Terrell. Deion Branch has looked great in camp thus far, and he missed majority of last season so he will be a much bigger factor during the regular season this year. David Givens is still there, very underrated wide reciever. Watson is going to blow up this year I think, which will allow Graham to do what he does - be the best blocking tight end in the NFL.

Offensive line works as a unit, one man can't dominate the line. They drafted Mankins and he has been the starter from Day one. Much like they had a few years ago with Dan Koppan, all he has done is start every single game since. Even their back up QB situation is pretty good, 3 guys battling it out for it. Everyone thought it was just going to be Rohan Davey and Doug Flutie, that's not the case though. Matt Cassel has been surprising people all camp so it should be intresting.

Marvin Harrisons numbers put T.O to shame. Anyone ever see that catch Harrison made agaist the Titans. 40 yard, over thrown ball by Manning. Harrison layed out and reeled it in with one hand. Harrison highlights are beautiful to watch, but no one knows about that because we here about T.O and Randy Moss, who both are every bit is talented, but get coverage time for the wrong reasons. While guys like Holt and Harrison who are brilliant, not good, brilliant recievers , do amazing things and never get talked about.

Eagles: T.O. can play for us or not play at all

day after they booted Terrell Owens (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player/70702) out of training camp, the Philadelphia Eagles (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/67058) took an even harder stance on their star's contract dispute:

Although I don't watch much football, it's interesting following this story because we get to witness a guy completely blow away his life. Well at least his manner in which he makes a living. I think I'm reading this situation correctly, and I don't think T.O. understands the severity of his actions and where he's headed.

The Eagles are still the favorites to win the NFC? I doubt it. If they don't have a No. 1 or No. 2 reciever, everybody speculating "what if" after each loss, the NFC getting better...

Last year they got through the shitty NFC in the playoffs without T.O., but that doesn't mean they can get through 16 games and three more without a legit threat on the outside.

Look at who they played in the playoffs last year, the Vikings barely made it into the playoffs where they beat an equally shitty Packers team, no chance. The Atlanta Falcons who played what, like three teams with winning records during the regular season? So they have the record to get the bye, then here comes St. Louis, the shittiest team in the playoffs.

Basically, the Eagles were the only legitimate team in the NFC last year, which is why they easilly made the Super Bowl. Thats not taking anything away from them, they were a legit good team, but there were none other in the NFC. Had the Eagles met the Steelers, the Colts, the Chargers, or even the Jets I still probably wouldn't have put my money on them.

So this year the NFC West is still shitty as ever, Seattle or Arizona will win and lose in the first round, but the rest of the NFC is improved (albiet the AFC is still stronger). The Falcons got Roddy White, they will be just as good as last year (which we will see how actually good they are since they have a legit schedule this year), the Vikings have a top 5 defense on paper (up from what, like 29?), the Panthers were probably the second best team in the NFC prior to the injuries last year, basically the NFC as a whole has improved from last year.

The only reason the Eagles were so good last year was because they were the only good team in the league, they simply aren't far and away the best team this year even with T.O. Other teams are catching up and the Eagles aren't exactly holding strong.

They can suspend him for the remainder of his contract, basiclly he won't be able to play or get paid for the next few years if they want.

The word is, he got in an argument with the OC and told the OC "Not to talk to him, only to talk to him when he told him to" so Reid heard this and stepped in and told him to "Shut Up". Which escalated it.

Plain and simple, he's doing whatever he can to force a trade because he wants a new deal.

TO has the phsyical tools to be the best WR in the league, but not the head.
Moss is the same, we'll see if Oakland changes him.
Have to give Harrison the nod as the top WR, simply because of the top 5 (Harrison, Owens, Moss, Holt, Johnson) he's the least likely to go mental and has a great team arround him, so rarely gets double teamed. Holt is pretty focused to, but doesn't have the team around him he once did.

AlphaBean
08-13-2005, 09:27 AM
The only years Moss had a good team around him were 98 and this year. 98 he was a rookie, and still torched everyone. Last year, he was hurt. So by saying Harrison has a great team around him is admitting that he's tops in stats only.

I highly doubt Moss will change in Oakland. As has been reported, he may have gotten worse. First off, he feels like he must prove that he still "does what he wants," and second off, he has been dropping a lot of easy catches. Maybe he's going to stink it up and force another trade -- MN
sending Raonall Smith and a 1st rounder to the Raiders.

You really have to watch Harrison every week to appreciate the little things he does along with the amazing things he does. Obviously he isnt the type that will out jump 2 corner backs for a ball then run it 20 more yards after the fact. Thats not Marvin , but thats what sport center highlights fall in love with. Thats what people seem to measure athletisism on these days. Thats what got TO and Moss on the highlight reals and there attitudes keep them on the highlight news shows.

Watch how Harrison runs his routes. He never moves his shoulders. I read a poll last year in sporting news that said 75% ( somewhere in the 70% range ) of DB's said Harrison was the toughest to cover because of his route running. He runs full speed and never moves his shoulders. When he breaks to the post or to the outside. You never know it. So the DB's are always trying to catch up.

Harrison is the most spectacular reciever in the league, pre-catch. Meaning when they show a overview of a TD pass to Harrison. Watch how he splits 3 DB's and pretty much manipulates them into doing and going where he wants so that he can be open. When this guy retires people will look back on this stuff and realize how amazing he is or was. Moss and TO dont do that stuff because they are big and physical. They dont have to. Harrison is smaller so he has to make up for the physical by using the mental. He's the smartest reciever in the league. He has the best route running in the league. The most balanced reciever in the league. (IMO) The best hands in the league. He doesnt have to put up 18 TD's because he has 2 other guys playing with him who are capable of putting up 10 TD's. One of those guys ( Reggie Wayne ) will be a star in this league if not this year , but next. I guarantee it.

All in all Marvin is just a guy that you like. He's a guy that i love to route for not just because he's on my team, but because he doesnt get the press that TO and Moss gets. He doesnt get it because he doesnt want it. He doesnt complain or take plays off. So its impossible for him to get that kind of press.

Owens attends Falcons-Ravens game
/ Associated Press
Posted: 1 hour ago

ATLANTA (AP) - Terrell Owens was at a football game Saturday night. Just not one involving the Philadelphia Eagles.

Unhappy with his contract and sent home for a week by the Eagles, Owens attended the Atlanta Falcons' preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens at the Georgia Dome.

The receiver has a home in Atlanta and plenty of time on his hands after getting kicked out of Eagles camp, the fallout from a heated dispute with coach Andy Reid. He can't return to camp until Wednesday, but has made it clear he won't be happy without a new contract.

Philadelphia has steadfastly refused to redo the seven-year, $49 million deal that Owens signed before last season.

Owens, who was sitting four rows behind the Falcons bench, declined comment when approached by a reporter.

While the Falcons desperately need a big-time receiver, team officials have said privately that there's no chance to trading for Owens.
