DOHERTY STUNS DIRECTOR WITH SELF HARM

Troubled rocker Pete Doherty terrified a BBC TV crew when he started slashing his chest with shards of broken glass following a drunken argument.

The Babyshambles singer, who spent four months with the TV unit shooting the forthcoming documentary "Who the F*ck is Pete Doherty", infuriated producer Greg Roselli with his lack of co-operation and aggressive behaviour, but his self-mutilation came as complete shock to everyone.

The film maker recalls: "I'll never forget what I saw. I'd had to skip my wifes birthday because Pete had finally consented to talk to us.

"Pete had just had the implant to stop him taking heroin and was very jumpy.

"During one of the attacks on the cameraman a Becks beer bottle got smashed and he picked up a piece of the green glass and slashed it down his chest.

"Pete didn't even wince. It was like he was in his own private world as he started to toy with the blood and smear it all over his chest.

"He seemed fascinated by it like a child."

There were pictures of the incident The Sun newspaper over here and it looked pretty gruesome. It'll be a surprise if he makes it to his next birthday at this rate.

He's a mess, and is famous for all the wrong reasons.

He's an extremely talented rock star with a knack for writing brilliant, catchy pop songs, but unfortunately the trendy music media's need for this era's anti-hero obviously means much more to them and him than the music. Which is why everyone keeps playing up to this, including Pete Doherty.

There are sites saying it was play for the cameras, which isn't too far-fetched, gets people talking.

Maybe if he wasn't always drugged up to his elbows?

They seem pretty good, actually, if only Doherty wasn't smacked off his head every time he goes on stage.

There's no excuse for that, none at all. The people who turn up to see it are wankers too, for paying just to see a human being destroy himself, just so they can say they saw him before he died when they're 35 year old accountants.

Killamangiro is a great song. That's the only Babyshambles tune I know, though.
