View Full Version : Eugene Sucks

I hate this character. With his fucking Rocky-rip-off music, his stupid fluffy hair and that god damn voice. How much longer must we suffer this inconveniece? We lose a great gimmick in Muhammad Hassan, an Arab-American fighting against the obvious racism in today's world - yet we must still watch a retard play wrestling in his underwear.

Does anyone else hate this character as much as I do? Or am I totally alone here?

I'm sure others hate the character, but I like it myself. I did find it hilarious when he got a "Eugene sucks!" chant on Raw. Kurt Angle even tried to insult the crowd, but they still cheered him. :D

when you put him in a situation like he was on RAW with Angle's medals, it makes me wanna boo him. But once he's in the ring, it's good stuff :y:

His gimmick was at its best when he fought Coach and Garrison Cade. His match with Coach was one of the best I've seen in terms of keeping your ass on the seat and keeping you entertained. The hilarious spots were too much. :D

Eugene is still awesome and is still watchable. But when he's in Pittsburgh claiming he's the gold medalist, that's just asking for trouble

I don't think he "sucks ass" but I'd much rather see him drop the gimmick than keep it.

Personally, I marked out when Eugene hit the referee over the neck on RAW and said it was Angle. Not because it was a playful thing to do, but because it was a heelish thing to do. At Summerslam, part of me wants to see Angle LOSE the match, when Eugene snaps out of his charatcer, which Angle would sell brilliantly with the greatest ever "What the fuck?!?!?!" expression on his face. The fans will either then cheer or boo Nick Dinsmore, and you can adjust the character that way.

I know it would probably suck ass, but I just can't help but getting this image of Kurt Angle on RAW the night after losing to "Eugene" pissed off he was conned. Have him talking to Todd Grisham, saying he's going to make Dinsmore pay, etc. saying this is about something Angle has poured his life into...his Gold Medals. He then shoves Todd Grisham away, then goes to leave when he bumps into a garbage can. He then looks in for some reason, and he is horrified to see his medals in the bin. He literally begins to cry because his prize possesion, his life in fact, was taken from him, then hurled into a bin by that same man as if it were meaningless. I can just see Angle playing it so sympathetically.

Stick Christy Hemme with Angle, they've already proven they have decent chemistry with their WrestleMania commercial, and Nick Dinsmore wouldn't need her anymore. Have Rob Conway revealed to be in on it, and that they've been waiting for the right time to reveal themselves as the...Lords of the Ring. They win the World Tag Team Titles, and Angle then challenges them with Matt Stiker (who lets his admiration for Kurt Angle be known), and Kurt Angle finally becomes a "true" Grand Slam Champion.

I think this is it CC.

Thing about the Eugene character is...I think he's already breaking from it. Look ath the match he had with Angle on Monday. The retard was using Heel tatics! Heel tatics for gods sake! How the hell can a retard act like a heel? It's no possible. Thus I think Dinsmore is about to break from the Eugene gimmick and tell us how he "fooled" us all. Espcially Christy.

Chavo Classic

Its going to happen one day. Eugene is going to pull a Kane and say he was never really <s> burnt </s> a retard. It's the ultimate heel heat and would make all the kids in the front way cry! Watching Chrissy's face and heart break would be classic and also help her get over as a performer!

There can be no harm coming from this. Dinsmore would be the heel of the year and open to feuds with all the faces on Raw.

All the heels as well. And I gots me a feeling that's how it'll happen.

That or they'll have him drop the Eugene gimmick and adopt the Doink gimmick...again.

i agree with everything you said here (Eugene makes me want to vomit) except for Muhammad Hassan being a great character. first off-everyone knows he is Italian. second-the idea of an Arab American fighting anti-Arab racsism is NOT a bad idea for a character, HOWEVER, at the point that they had the men in black masks assault the Undertaker, they went way beyond standing up against prejudice, and made light of a very real and tragic situation that should not have been re-enacted in a wrestling ring.

I still believe they should swerve this angle somewhere down the road and make Eugene (who reveals himself to be Nick Dinsmore) one of the biggest heels in the WWE: he's not REALLY retarded.

He and Bischoff just came up with it for 1) a ratings ploy, because regular people LOVE to watch irregular people succeed, and 2) to prove that Eric Bischoff is ultimately smarter than everyone else.

Nick Dinsmore is actually a very good wrestler - and if he shaved off the beard and got a decent haircut he would actually look presentable. I pray that they take this route sometime in the future.

If you're referring to the London bus attacks, then the WWE were not "making light" of anything, because the tapings were held on Tuesday and the show aired on Thursday, the same day that the attacks took place.

If you're referring to the terrorist style executions in general - then I really don't see the big deal. The WWE has done far more controversial and offensive things in the past (the Kane/Lita abortion, the necrophilia angle, Billy and Chuck, UT's crucifixion of Stephanie McMahon - just to name a few), and there's no reason why a bunch of men dressed in black attacking someone should be considered worse. I know that the United States is in a "terrorists and terrorism are taboo" stage right now, but, to quote Peter Griffin: Come on... COME ON.

Hassan was a great character, and had they given him more time, I think he could've become one of the biggest draws in the company. And if Eugene ever becomes the top draw in the WWE, then excuse me, but America is a bunch of retards.

I like how people are saying that Eugene will pull a Usual Suspects on us. I LOVE the character, he brings fun to the show, the guy has talent, even if the character is supposed to be "special". I will say that yes, eventually, bring him as a heel with what was mentioned before and that's it, but it will happen, people. Mr. Wrestling will return. Just be patient and enjoy, because it'll be worth the shock when all is revealed.

And Hassan, I miss the guy even if the last thing they made him do had no purpose whatsoever. Maybe if it wasn't around the London attacks and/or maybe having Hassan say during the incident anything contradicting what he was doing and not a week later so that those dumbasses on the news could actually get the message.

If THAT offended you, you probably haven't been watching wrestling very long. Sorry, champ.

But back on subject, I don't know how they're going to manage turning Nick from 'tard to turd. I mean, there's ways to do it, but they'd have to cover all bases and make it a foolproof story to keep from sounding retarded themselves. Seriously. Like, Regal training Eugene? That whole time, Regal never suspected Eugene was faking? Regal seems like a smart fellow to me. Meh.

But yeah, Eugene's began to grate on my nerves lately. They could have done better with this Angle Invitational. Hell, they could have done better THAN the Angle Invitational.

i was referring to the executions.

the very fact that it was re-enacted in a WWE wrestling ring made light of it

none of those previous angles were as contraversial in my opinion. its not even about the controversy. its about the tastelessness and shallowness of the whole thing.

example - if you have ever lost a child, those "lost pregnancy" arent funny. you can deal with it, but it always hurts just that little bit. and the bottom line is, it's just a stupid and predictable angle.

now suppose that a friend or a family member had been was a civilian contractor and was kidnapped and beheaded by insurgents - or even a soldier who had been killed over there. wouldnt you be infuriated by the WWE making light of that entire situation by re-enacting it as a wrestling angle. and for what? shock value?

TerranRich
08-13-2005, 09:42 PM
No, WWE has never considered they might be offending anybody. Plus, anything can offend just about anybody...

Mae Young and Mark Henry offended older women looking for younger guys to rekindle their inner youth.

Victoria going psycho offended real-life psychotic women serial killers.

Christy Hemme offended mentally retarded girls everywhere.

You see? Just about anything can offend if it hits close to home for somebody. ;)

I think Eugene is one of the better characters on RAW. No, he's not a main eventer, but he plays his character great. I don't even feel like I'm watching an actor act as a retard, I feel like he really is. You don't doubt him for a second. I think a heel turn would be cool down the road, but I would keep him face for a while longer though.

I've met plenty of retarded people in my life, and never have I met one that acts as "normal/retarded" as Eugene does. I don't believe his shtick for a second, and honestly, I can't see how the WWE has managed not to get any complaints from mentally handicapped people in the US. Then again, I guess if they can do Timmy on South Park and that guy from There's Something About Mary then they can get away with this.

Eugene has lost a bit of his thunder, it's true, but like many people have already said, it's not the fault of Nick Dinsmore.

This is a character that the WWE would had to have known would be very difficult to change, and now that his 'shock value' has worn off, I could see things getting a little shaky for our retarded friend.

On a personal note, I'll say that I enjoyed Eugene the most when Triple H was teasing about letting him join Evolution. That was GOLD. He acted heelish during this stint at times, for whoever said that he shouldn't be doing so, and it worked very welll.
