View Full Version : Create-A-Alltime-Lineup For Your Favorite Team

Yeah, I was on this Mets message board and there was a topic where you posted your favorite Met all-time roster....and yeah, I did one cause I was bored, so I figured this could be a topic where you could pick your favorite team and make an all-time favorite roster for them or something, it doesn't even have to be baseball really, but if someone actually wants to do a full NFL roster, you've got problems...

Anyways, my Met lineup mixes guys mainly from the more recent years because that's when I really started paying attention...mixing in a few 80's guys and a couple of 60s/70s...and every player here is based on their best season with the Mets..

Lineup
1. SS - Jose Reyes
2. CF - Mookie Wilson
3. C - Mike Piazza (A little biased here, just couldn't bring myself to put Carter above Piazza)
4. RF - Darryl Strawberry
5. 1B - Keith Hernandez (True leader)
6. LF - Cliff Floyd (Using the 2005 season Cliff, of course...)
7. 3B - David Wright (The future of the team)
8. 2B - Edgardo Alfonzo (Fonzy is an old fav. of mine)

Bench
C - Gary Carter
OF - Rickey Henderson (Speed off the bench)
1B/2B/OF - Marlon Anderson (Amazing PH season this year)
OF - Kevin McReynolds
3B/SS - Howard Johnson

Rotation
1. RH - Tom Seaver
2. RH - Dwight Gooden
3. LH - Jerry Koosman
4. RH - Pedro Martinez
5. LH - Bobby Ojeda (Based on his TREMENDOUS '86 season)

Bullpen
Closer - LH: John Franco (Again a little biased because I never saw McGraw play)
RH - Roger McDowell
LH - Jesse Orosco
LH - Tug McGraw
RH - Roberto Hernandez
RH - Turk Wendell
RH - Armando Benitez

------

Yeah, that's what boredom gets you.....I'd be interested to see some of these for other teams if anyone else is that bored

A kid I know at college made up some rosters of active NFL players from schools like U of Miami, Purdue, Texas, a bunch of big schools like that. Some were pretty sick.

You can kinda see there, when he was a Jet, John Hall would wear his chinstrap around his adams apple almost, his helmet hardly covered the back of his head, he was a fan favorite back in the day. You can't notice the chinstrap as much as a Redskin, but he still does it. :)
