View Full Version : Hardy and Edge...what next?

After seeing the video package they played on Raw about the Hardy/Edge & Lita feud, it made me wonder - where can they go after Summerslam?

Looking at it now, it would be pointless having another match between the two, as the energy and momentum of wanting them in the same ring would have gone.

So what happens to the two after their match? Is there a way to build away from their feud while making the whole thing worthwhile?

Edge uses his money in the bank shot.

Matt uses his unemployment insurance.

I think it's pretty obvious that this is RAW's answer to the Rey/Eddie fued...only retarded.

Maybe they will carry on the feud, but having them fight over Edge's Money In The Bank Shot.:-\

Edge stays, WWE.com gets notified that WWE released Matt Hardy and would like to wish him well on his future endeavors

It all depends on how the match ends this Sunday, as it's really up in the air when you think about it. Hardy could win to boost his popularity even more, or Edge could win to expand his heel heat towards his MITB title match.

I'd like to see Edge get a cheap win and continue this feud for at least another month - maybe putting them against each other in a gimmick match on RAW or at the next RAW PPV. Of course, we all know that Edge is going to take that title shot sometime soon - he can't carry around that fucking briefcase forever.

My guess is that he'll forget all about the case one day and we never see it again

I'm guarantee Edge will use his MITB title shot at Survivor Series... You can bank on that.

I can see Matt Hardy moving on to feud with either Chris Jericho or Triple H. I think the best thing to do with Hardy is move him to SmackDown!, though.

Have Christian appear during the match at Summerslam, which leads to Matt yelling "What the fuck are you doing, Jay?" playing up to the shoot side of things. Christian then gets a microphone and says that he's sick of being held down, and held back, and it's a travesty Captain Charisma was not on the Summerslam card. He says he's on Matt Hardy's side, and he gives a big "fuck you" to WWE management. He grabs two steel chairs, walks into the ring and then...goes to town on an unsuspecting Matt Hardy. Edge and Christian hit the con-chair-to on Hardy, and Edge pins for the three count. Edge and Christian celebrate when it is not Edge's theme they play, but Edge & Christian's old "You Think You Know Me" theme.

Matt Hardy is annoucned as SmackDown!'s newest superstar, alongside Tajiri, as compensation for Muhammad Hassan and Khosrow Daivari. Christian vs. Matt Hardy at No Mercy.

Mr. Nerfect

That's what the whole feud would be based on. Matt Hardy and Christian are both dead in the water, sticking them in a feud together would revive their characters.

It'll dwindle down and Matt will get released again.

Er, why don't they just have a contract and then the winner who gets the suitcase with the contract in it gets dominic? Would've made more sense, but yeah anyway I hope they cancel the hardy/edge feud after summerslam, i've lost all interest ever since Matt revealed it was a work and then he came out for 3 weeks doing exactly the same thing, and then lets not even get started on how poor the 'big announcement' by Vince was done.

Matt Hardy goes to ROH and fulfills his booked indy dates and Edges, despite our pleas, goes into the main event picture bu utilising his MITB stipulation.

Once this feud is over, so is Matt Hardy's push and therefore, his resurrected WWE career.

I see this going past Summerslam, whether that's a good idea or not. The match will end up being a massive brawl and will get thrown out, both guys getting counted out, or disqualified, something like that.

Once it is over though, Hardy could be an IC contender, With RVD coming back they could build a decent enough division up.

Christian's push is dead. Just accept it.
How can you call his push dead? He has his own interview segment! I'm sorry, but I hardly see how giving him a high profile segment every week is killing his push! Oh, and he had a title shot last week. Yes, he didn't win, but for the most part wrestlers are only given title shots on TV to make the Champion look good for his PPV challenger, and it says a lot about WWE's faith in Chritian that they have done this twice since his SmackDown! debut.
Oh, and I hope this turns out like Rey/Eddie, so Edge has a nice long feud to make him look better and give him a slow build up to when he eventually challenges for the title. I think he will challenge at WrestleMania, what would be the point of making the stipulation so he can challenge within a year if he challenges before the year is up? Also, it's kinda common sense that Edge would choose Wrestlemania for his title shot, because even if he doesn't win, storyline-wise(and in real life) it's a great opportuntity to make his name.

I think any regular segment on the show should be considered high profile. Also, like the Highlight Reel, it will hopefully be used to promote big matches etc, as well as Christian's own matches.

Still doesn't strike me as high profile. That's like saying Tazz is high profile, because he opted for job security.

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. I think that an interview segment is very different to being a colour commentator though, as you can actually see Christian and/or the guest throughout the segment, and also it is basically both interviewer and guest cutting promos. Also, WWE giving Christian this segment shows that WWE have faith in his abilities to put over wrestlers over in interviews, so maybe it's not a high profile role as such, but it's certainly an important one.
Anyway, I definitely think it's a perfect role for Christian to play, and I think will, if anything, strengthen his eventual big push.

Important, yes, but far from a push. In fact, a regular segment like this will keep him from the real limelight more than likely.

Yeah that's a good point. Thing is, I think it's still too early to put Christian in the main event. I think he needs some high profile feuds, big wins, and possibly a decent US Championship run before he can look like a strong challenger to the WWE Title. If they used this segment right, it could be the perfect way to establish Christian as a major player.
If they gave him a PPV title shot now, it would feel rushed and nobody would believe he could win it, especially after already being beaten by Batista not so long ago.
You're probably right though, it is more likely to keep him waiting in the sidelines like Jericho than being pushed.

There could even be a segment where Christian gets his release papers, and then we'll never have to see him again.

Dominik is suspended abov the ring inside a pinata and the winner must climb the ladder and break him out.

Yeah and they have to hurry too or Dominik will run out of air. I can hear Tazz now: "Oh my God Cole, that kid just died in a paper mache donkey! I never thought I'd have to say that!"

On a side note, once Dominik comes out of the pinata, he begins to claim that he real mother was the pinata, that he was re-born from the aformentioned paper-mache donkey. He will begin a feud with both Eddie and Rey and assume the name Hijo del Burro(Son of the Donkey).
