IMO: HBK owns Cena.

Shawn is past his prime, but he can still put on a hell of a show and can actually wrestle.
Cena is incredibly over, but can't carry a decent match to save his life.

You might as well ask who is better: HBK or the inanimate Carbon Rod?
Cena is mad over, he's like Hogan or Austin. He could walk out into the ring, and make armpit farting noises and still get a HUGE pop. His in ring skills are lacking and his matches are shit (Though I blame that on main event status)
Michaels has lost a step, but he's still YEARS ahead of Cena, even in mic skills.

Cena can't hold HBK's jock when it comes to actual wrestling skill. Im a fan of Cena's gimmick though.

HBK is better
Even though HBK has lost a step he is still just as good as he ever was.

Everybody always whines about wrestlers getting old, but the matches that i've seen come out of HBK over the last 3 years have been twice as good as ANY of the up and comers, if not more. HBK wins by a landslide, because when John Cenas gimmick is over, he might not have anything left.

Yeah, HBK can definitely still deliver great matches in the ring. Cena is mediocre at best.

HBK ownz.
Cena is just a guy that had a gimmick that caught onwith the crowd and is now hugely over.

It says something that I loathe Shawn Michaels, but appreciate almost everything he does.

HBK is, imo, the best thing on RAW right now. Much as I love Jericho and Carlito, HBK's side of his feud with Hogan has been absolutely phenomenal. His promos, his matches, his...everything is amazing.
Cena isn't terrible in the ring, but he's light years behind Michaels. He's decent on the mic (when he's allowed to be a little passionate), but Michaels blows him away in that regard, too.
So, in conclusion: HBK > Cena

Shawn Michaels to me is the absolute best in the business right now. Yes he has lost a step, or two (or three) but the man is exactly what he says he is, the showstopper. Shawn Michaels puts on the match or segment that everyone remembers at the end of he night. He's forgot more about wrestling than John Cena will ever know.

Cena shouldn't be allowed in the same arena as HBK. Shawn is that much better.

hbk is definitely the better man. he is still the showstopper and far ahead of John Cena.

John Cena isn't the wreck in the ring everyone claims he is, he's just being so criminally protected by te WWE it isn't funny. The WWE has reduced the guy to Hogan-esque movements, and who can blame the guy for not argueing, especially when he is getting a giga-push right now because he has a gimmick based on a dying out rap craze.

But yeah, HBK is head, shoulders and shins above Cena right now in ability, and personally, I think he should be going over Hogan clean at Summerslam if they plan on having face World Champions walk out, which is extremely likely.
Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing HBK sent over to SmackDown! as compensation for Muhammad Hassan, and seeing HBK take the World Heavyweight Title off Batista. I am a huge advocate of the "have Batista hold the World Title indefinately fan club" but if you want to have 'Tista lose the belt, HBK is the best choice for a SD! Champion. HBK vs. Taker, HBK vs. Chris Benoit, HBK vs. Booker T, HBK vs. Mysterio, HBK vs. Christian, HBK vs. Guerrero, HBK vs. London, HBK vs. Nunzio, HBK vs. Regal, HBK vs. Lesnar, etc. If you want SmackDown! to go out in style, you may as well put HBK on there and have MOTY candidates every week.

agreed...fact is, the best matches of each of the past two years have involved HBK.
2005: HBK VS Angle
2004: HBK VS Benoit VS HHH
2003: HBK VS Y2J (was just behind Angle VS Benoit)
Very few will be as good as Shawn was. His performance over the last month has been superb and I think he should get another title reign.

Shawn Michaels all the way IMO, his matches are more compelling.
Although, i do think that Cena's ring work is not as bad as a lot of people claim. He does have a repetitive moveset that is quite lame and predictable, but his style that he brings to a match is quite fast and aggressive which I think is exciting to see. It might not be good technical "wrestling" but his matches often have a different flavour that often builds up a lot of momentum in the climax of the bout. Other wrestlers are capable of doing that, but I think the way that Cena is 'over' helps him look that little bit more authentic when it happens.

I wonder why people whine about wrestlers getting old:
Hulk Hogan (Can't lift his leg for the big boot any more)
Undertaker
Nash/Hall
Triple H (He's slowed down, he's injury prone, he's a main eventer)
Steiner
LOD
I'd say Michaels is the exception, not the rule.
Hulk Hogan (Can't lift his leg for the big boot any more)
lol notice on Raw that he pretty much kicked Kurt in the stomach with the big boot

I dunno...the inanimate carbon rod can cut a mean promo. And did you see how it took out Cena that one time? Perfection. HBK's got nothing on it.

To be honest I don't think you should compare them, compare Cena to orton, batista, or JBL, but HBK is a franchise, while Cena is on the road to it. Shawn has so much experience and presence in the ring the only people you can compare him to are the hogans, flairs, and harts of this world.
