Coach signs new deal with WWE
August 18, 2005

WWE.com has learned that Jonathan Coachman has just signed a multi-year deal with World Wrestling Entertainment.

“Obviously, the powers that be love my work,” an arrogant Coach claimed when reached to comment on the signing. “I also received a Coach-sized signing bonus.”

Coach, who has been with WWE for six years, admits that there may have been other options available to him other than the RAW announce table.

“There were tons of other offers on the table, but I thought it was in the Coach’s best interest, as well as WWE’s best interest, to stay home. Let’s face it; the voice that’s running this train is the Coach’s.”

Coach sees big things for him in the future now that is new deal is in place and he’s is an official member of the RAW announce team.

“I’ll be doing commentary long after J.R. and The King are gone.”

Also long after the fans have gone home too.

best story I heard is the first week of the Diva Search in the Bikini Bootcamp thing, Coach did a dry run earlier and did it in 20 seconds. Vince told him to mess up on purpose and be a goof, and he still gets a better time than most of the women

Thank god....I know that I was truly worried for a second there that the WWE would be unable to keep the services of this hack comedian/mediocre announcer/Rock's bitch. I'm sure that there were many offers out there such as.......um...the host of The Real Gilligan's Island Season 3....or token black guy on an episode of "Stacked"...or hipster owner of the "cool hang-out" on some shitty Nick Teen drama starring Lindsay Lohan's younger cousin or something.....

Coach :y: :y: :y:

JR and King are getting stale. By God, their commentary isn't made of fava beans, you know. Anyone else is better.

That's sort of my point. There's a lot of love for Coach that I think is fairly unjustified. If you listen to his work objectively, he's not that good or entertaining. He just sounds better in comparison to the commentary we've been used to hearing on Raw.
