Undertaker was promised at least one more world title reign when he renewed his contract a year and a half ago. He was supposed to win the title at WM21 against Angle but that idea plan was dropped since Vince was adamant on keeping the title on JBL. Anyway he has a year and a half left, in other words, 2 more WrestleManias.
I just heared this on IGN. I wanna know if this is true, because I didn't hear anything about it???:shifty:

I'd give him a run if he promised to turn heel.
Don't know if it is true, but wouldn't be totally shocked if it was.
they need to give him at least 1 more run with it

it seems logical that he would do it once he starts whoing up more consistently expect that #1 contendership to go to him and he becomes the new champ

even if it's just 1 month he needs another run before he retires

I say have Rowdy Roddy Piper return to full action, put the title on him, then have him lose it to Taker, who then loses it to Jim Neidhart, who then loses it to Dusty Rhodes! They all deserve title runs! Not like any deserving talent like Christian or Edge deserve it...

Plus, putting the belt on established talent=ratings and credibility.
Undertaker squashing every hoss (And most everyone else) on Smackdown in the last couple of years has brought us HUGE ratings. If we put the title on him, and bring back a faction of 80s superstars, we can DOMINATE!

Whats so important about him getting another title run?
personally, I would put the title on him if he actually deserved it...if the WWE thought that he could take the ball and run with it. Frankly, having it written into your contract is complete and utter crap!!!
I remember reading a lance storm  q and a and someone asked him would he join TNA if he was promised the title. His response was something like "no. I don't want to join a fed just to hold the title. I want the fed to give me the title because they have faith in me, not because its written into my contract" (or something to that effect).
Taker could have another run, he is still mega-over. however, to simply have a run because its in ur contract, IMO, is total and utter crap. I personally think Taker should start turning up to shows b4 he has the chance to wear the title

Well, unless they work out something like...
Around the Rumble, 'Taker wins the world title. He runs with it for so long, yadda yadda. Then, a month before WM22, they rebuild the Orton/Taker feud, with the title on the line at WM22. Orton than beats 'Taker for the title, and 'Taker leaves the company.
Would just seem to me like a good way for Calloway to pass the torch, get a title run, and would end his undefeated WM streak.

And while we're at it...LET'S DIG UP OWEN'S CORPSE TO HAVE THE UNDERTAKER SQUASH!
I'VE GOT IT. We'll give the Undertaker a gimmick true to his name by having HIM dig up the corpse, then have him form a stable with Owen's body, Heidenreich calling himself Hawk, and Katie Vick as a manager. It works because the Undertaker's a zombie! Give Undertaker a title run, have everybody job and culminate it at Wrestlemania with Undertaker v HHH (who has jumped to Smackdown). In an attempt to swerve and actually join the stable, HHH kills himself.
The end.

In his last year, The Undertaker should win the Royal Rumble to get a title shot and lose at Wrestlemania because he has never won a Royal Rumble and he is undefeated at Wrestlemania. Wrestlemania should be a retirement match, whoever loses has to retire.

Taker should have at least a good 11month to a years title reign with the WWE belt first then at the draft after wrestlemania 22 in 06, have Kane and Snitsky join SD! (of course it would have to be while UT feuds with Heidenreich) and turn both Kane and Taker heel by then and have Snitsky and Heidenreich as the good guys, and have them and 2 other tag teams, 1 being the champs and 1 other team, compete in a fatal four way tag team battle royal for the belts, and UT and Kane could start a legit 6 month title reign with the tag straps if done properly...note i said IF done properly...which is highly unlikely in today's wwe...but just a thought...or 7--lol!

Fuck that. Leave the streak. He doesn't need another title run, but I really think he deserves to keep that streak. In all of Undertaker's years, there are some things he's done and some things he's never done (including selling his opponents' offense ;))
Losing at Mania should really be one of those things that he just doesn't do.

The only reason I would ever put the World Heavyweight Title on Undertaker is if it was as a heel, and he jobbed it at WrestleMania to a new star.
Undertaker could and probably should keep his undefeated streak, but if he's going to shit all over talent by winning the title again, I say shit all over him.
I like The Undertaker, and he had a fantastic match with Orton at Summerslam, but this feud should be over and Taker should be finding someone else to put over before he retires. If Taker had class he would request that his title run be given to a younger star like Christian. Winning titles because it is in your contract is low, but I think The Undertaker could do a Robin Hood thing here and rob the rich and give to the poor.
Although, the "anti-Cena is God ideal" inside me is screaming for The Undertaker to show up on RAW, full Ministry Taker, and beat John Cena for the WWE Title before losing it to Kurt Angle. :-\

The only time he really could have lost @ mania IMO was against Orton.
I see no other reason why he should loose @ mania.
I would love to see Orton beat Taker at Wrestlemania 22 tho, I think that Orton beating taker would be unreal (btw, i'm big on orton @ the moment)
he has to keep his mania streak but think about this
orton wins the title from batista....drops it to taker who then drops it to jericho with outside interference from orton

I honestly don't see where he's being that selfish if he wants another title run. Granted, he's aging and nowhere near what he once was, but look at how many title reigns some of these other guys have had, and remember that Undertaker's been mega over and been a part of the WWE for fifteen years now.
Then recall that he's only held the World Title some four times, the longest reign being for four months in 1997, in a time where he was taking on "Number One Contenders" that had either lost or drawn in their last "big match".

He's only not beaten JBL at all, lost to Orton, lost to Cena back before Cena was in the main event, lost to Vincent by god McMahon himself, lost to Brock Lesnar, lost to The Rock, Steve Austin, etc., etc., etc.
If I wanted to nitpick, I could name more.
he's never been like hogan and refused to job
like pepsi man said in his post you could name more
i just dont see where the big fuss is about 1 more run with the title cause the biggest part of you on here are tired of batista with the belt and you hate jbl's ring work well taker is better than jbl and he does make people look good
orton vs taker both times was real good matches even with the taker sitting up deal BUT thats his character and thats why i think alot of people accuse him of not selling but he does sell more than alot of guys out there

He should take the title off of Batista at Survivor Series, and hold it till Wrestlemania 22, where he should loose it to the winner of the Royal Rumble, Randy Orton, CLEAN, 1,2,3 in the centre of the ring.

I'm usually against backstage politics, and for veteran's using their "stroke" backstage, but in Taker's case, he is right a lot of the time. Taker complained if he had to lose a pointless match on RAW or Smackdown to a low mid-carder like A-Train or something, and he would refuse and get the ending switched (I've heard of that a couple of times). But, Taker is smart, because if he's jobbing to low-mid carders, the credibility of his character goes way down, and so would "defeating the Undertaker".
For example, look at Kane. In 1997/1998 he was basically unbeatable, and when you would beat Kane is was a "big deal". But in 2002, 2003, they had him losing matches to Renee Dupree, Sylvian, and other wrestlers that were no where near at the top, and because of that, Kane's credibility went way down and his character is basically in the crapper. But, of course, Kane unfortunately can't play backstage politics like Taker can.
What I like though is that Taker jobs when he feels that the wrestler he is losing to is about to peak, and because he only jobs to people that will be World Champ in the next year, that's why his character is still as credible as it is.

Which would make sense, except the Undertaker feuds with a midcarder almost every week...
...Losing pointless matches is bad, but fighting in them isn't pointless?

Right, because, how much more build can his character get? But, he has to fight once in a while besides pay-per-views and title matches. But, you are right, because having him defeat low mid-carders without anyone else interfering in hype of a PPV match or something, is indeed pointless, just like it would be pointless if anyone else were to do it.
