Hogan believes he put over Michaels.
WMOA 1490 in Parkersburg, WV just interviewed Hulk Hogan about his show on VH1 "Hogan Knows Best". He talked about how it's the hottest reality show around and how his daugher Brooke will be a huge music star soon.
The topic of SummerSlam came up and Hogan said he was proud of the match that came out. He was asked why he won the match against a full-time WWE star and Hogan responded that he bent over backwards putting over Shawn Michaels by making the crowd believe Michaels is good enough to hang with The Immortal Hulk Hogan. He said by shaking Michaels hand after the match, he helped further put over Michaels. He then said after watching Raw Monday night, he wishes he had thought more carefully about putting in so much effort to help out another wrestler.
Hogan was then asked if his wrestling career was over and he responded that he would love to work with John Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin because he believes they could be big money matches. Hogan was asked if he would be as willing to make stars of Cena and Austin as he was Michaels. Hogan said that he's be very open to discussion but is a bit leery following Michaels' promo on Raw.
The interview began to close as Hogan plugged his show one more time. Before cutting to a break he was asked for his final thoughts on Michaels and he responded quickly that some people in the wrestling business don't appreciate the favors that are granted to them.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Hulk Hogan is an asshole.

LMAO! Is that real? Seriously? I know it is a bad business decision, but if I were the WWE and/or Shawn Michaels, I would do everything I could to throw shit on that man's legacy. Seriously, HBK made that match with Hogan WATCHABLE. Hogan should be thanking HBK for giving him a decent match to add to his resume of about two.
Seriously, I hope that the next guy does a performance in a "smart" arena, I hope we hear "Die Hogan, Die" chants. Honest to God. The guy must live in his own little bubble. He's worried about putting Stone Cold Steve Austin over? The guy can't even wrestle anymore! Give him his God-damned win over your incapable of "making stars" body.
By shaking his hand, all Hogan did was destroy any heel momentum Shawn Michaels had going. If this interview if true, fuck Hogan. I never watched wrestling in the 80's, never in the 90's, I don't give a fuck how much revenue he made, right now he is a fucking waste of time. He's not believeable, he's not entertaining (debatable, but we've seen everything he does before) and he's a completely delusion idiot. Plus he won't put ANYBODY, no matter how deserving they are of it, over. He wouldn't even return the job to HBK.
And his daughter's going to be a big musical success soon? Did she grow extra talent over night (a new for the Hogan family)? Honestly, Hogan's been saying that for months. Why didn't Hulk suggest she sing the National Anthem at Summerslam? He had the power to, because management has been sucking his dick enough in recent weeks. Wins over the Intercontinental Champ, Muhammad Hassan, Khosrow Daivari and two over Kurt Angle. All those men should have realistically gone over Hogan.

As far as I know it's real. I got it of WZforums.
Hulk Hogan is a big headed shit, he wont go over for anyone. He thinks he had to make Shawn MIchaels look good? What about all the other of Michaels matches Hulk? You dumb shit. Michaels made you watchable, nothing could make Hulk Hogan look good.

Seriously, this guy is so egotistical if he thinks HE was the guy who carried that match at Summerslam. What...the...fuck?

OK, IMO I think you may have over reacted slightly here, a few points I would like to make:
In 2002 Hogan tapped to Angle and put over Lesner like a god on a TV show, not even at a PPV, so when he was on a full time (ish) scedule he did put people over.
Right now he's back on his terms, why should he be putting people over? If it's on his terms I mean, he does have a legacy and coming back just to job wouldn't make sense, it's not like he needs to money is it? If he's at all serious about coming back for the fans they would want to see him go over anyway (the marks anway), plus the guy will have an ego, as would anyone else who's been put over like a god for the past 20 years. Why would you come back for 'one more match' after everything you've done to put someone who doesn't really need a rub over?
As for killing HBK's heel run, the writers have already done that by making him feud with Masters, so I don't think this was a long term plan anyway
I'm not saying Hogan did the right thing, but from his point of view I can see where he's coming from and why he did it.

Hogan is the most un-realistic "worker" around. He has the weakest punches I've ever seen. Linda Machmohan threw better punches. While i think Michaels is a chicken shit arrogant punk, who bret should have beat up properly in the ring after the screwjob, I think Michaels should have won the match.
To be honest even Michaels ring work isnt as sharp as it used to be. This Hulk Hogan VS Shawn Michaels wold have been something of a classic if it was done in say 1996 ( in know hulk was in wCw at the time etc..)

Sounds like he's tired of vince blowing him. Hollywood/hulk should hang it up..the fans asked for one more match- not a couple 100 slow motion, phantom punches from an old man who is turning himself into a joke with every match.
BTW isnt it sad how the other guys sell hogans moves even though they are more fake than macmohans hair.

No he didn't put him over, but he did a blade job and sold for a good 10 minutes to his offence, where he could of been a dick and just no sold everything.

I like how HBK over sold the boot.
PureHatred
08-25-2005, 11:07 AM
Mmmmm...he also delivered that big boot and then let Shawn lay on the ground for what felt like a million years before he delivered the leg drop.
It's hard to think this is kayfabed because Terry and Hogan are exaclty the same person;he doesn't know where the character ends anymore. Sure, this quote proves Hulk is an insanely egotistical old fuck, but I think we all knew that.
Over all I think Dave made the best points so far; Hogan did a fantastic job of putting people over during his last run in the WWE, but he was also in the company for over a year (IIRC). This stint is clearly going to be an appearance by appearance deal, HBK didn't NEED the win (he's just as over either way), and the WWE probably want him to look good because (sadly) Hulk is right: the WWE could do big business by lining up Cena/Hogan in th next few months and then Cena/Austin at WM.

It'd be made two out of three falls. Each man would get a fall, and then two younger guys would come and break it up. The match would be changed into a tag match right then and there, just so neither Hogan nor Warrior would have to lose.

Mr. Nerfect
08-26-2005, 06:14 PM
Dave Youell is right, I did overreact a little bit. He lost cleanly to Lesnar and Angle, but he did sort of win the fall back from Angle on RAW when he beat him by disqualification, where there was NO mention of Angle ever beating Hogan.
If he keeps coming back, sure I can see why he might not want to job constantly, but maybe it's time to start creating new stars by, not shaking their hands and giving them the rub, brother, but by losing to them and making them look better than the greatest professional wrestler to ever live. Carlito beating Hogan to retain the Intercontinental Championship would be huge, but the "Ultimate Dude" can't let himself lose any credibility that has been embedded into his character since the 80's.
Kane Knight
08-26-2005, 07:47 PM
They also don't mention him losing to Lesnar...Didn't before he left, and probably will continue not to after he returns.
