Matt Hardy vs Edge.

What's going on? I assumed they'd have a rematch at Unforgiven. Are they ending the feud tonight, or just creating something to take into Unforgiven? What do you think?

Probably just making this match so the fans get back on Hardy's side because his reactions are going down IMO.

That's true. I haven't cared about him at all since his return.

probably to make up for his crap performance at SS where he got his ass handed to him

Edge will still punk him out like he did at Summerslam, and Raw the night after... I notice a trend.

Well if anyone had any doubts about this not being a shoot from the start then you are insane. Only WWE could have fucked up this angle and they have done by totally burying Matt Hardy.

I'm not too sure about this match. Should be good, but it makes me wonder if they've lost faith in Hardy (it was them that dropped the ball, not Matt). Hopefully this just leads to a Money in the Bank Match at Unforgiven. Maybe in a Last Man Standing, I Quit or Ladder Match. I can see tables getting involved to. First to put their opponent through three tables? I can see them doing something like this, anyway.

If say two months ago (Before Hardy came back), I was to find out that there would be a street fight between Hardy and Edge coming up at the end of August, I would have been very excited. However, the inability of Hardy (or) the management to put across the momentum of the fued well as devalued any kind of build up to a match like this.

yeah only reason I wanna see this match is because I'm a Edge fan and I wanna see Hardy get his ass beat...

The novelty has wore off. And I don't think it's anyone's fault. We've just got tired off it, and I think the wrestlers have too (we know for sure that Lita has).

well when you feed Hardy to people week after week after the initial showing of him. I mean the initial showing in teh back was awesome. Every other time after that took more and more away which lead to VInce's announcement which was more of a killer. Then Matt was basically jobbed/made to look real weak in his first match back on Raw, then he was destroyed at SummerSlam.

IT was nothing more than oversaturation

I remember the buzz on the boards when he came back. Even KKK (the extra K is for Kynical) was marking out. But now its been done and now that he's jobbed, what else can they do? Edge can't run off with Lita again! :nono:

Did anyone else think that last nights match was awesome or was that just me.

Yeah it was probably one of the better Raw matches for a while. The non finish was a bit shit though. Not the non finish itself but what is was. It's been done before with Mick Foley and didn't end a match. Personally I think they should have just had Matt choke the shit out of him by hanging him or something where they would need the police and medical staff to come out to stop him from "killing" Edge.

I wouldn't blame Matt. It's not like he's booking himself, especially the whole "major headwound" deal.

The WWE has got to protect its no. 1 priority here, the guy who's got a guaranteed title shot in the next 6 months - EDGE. They can't possible put Hardy over a guy they've pushed so hard. After all, didn't they fire Hardy? Wouldn't putting Hardy over Edge be an admission of a mistake?

WE all know how much Vince & co like owning up to their fallacies now

That woulda been cooler, but honestly, I think that this was good enough, especially given the quality of the match. I would have preferred a less recycled finish as well..

It'd be an admission of two mistakes.

Since they'd be more or less admitting both firing Hardy was a mistake, and that Edge shouldn't be a main eventer.
