Damn, I want this book. For those who don't know, it's a fictional book about Kane's life. Click below and scroll down for Chapter One (or part of Chapter One, anyway). It's really interesting thus far.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1416507477/qid=1125332663/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-6541629-8482544?v=glance&s=books&n=507846
Some random bits of interformation from the book (Spoilers, I guess):
-Kane's birth name was "Glen Jacob Callaway".
-Kane is Susanna's (Kane's mother's) maiden name.
-Paul Bearer's real name is "Paul Grimm", and he worked in the Callaway family's funeral service as the embalmer.
-Kane's father was named "Randall Callaway".
-It appears the Kane family was cursed, and that they are connected to the car crash that killed James Dean.
-The Callaway family lived in Marfa, Texas, where the film "Giant" was filmed in the 1950's.
-Kane has some kind of biological disease (or perhaps the curse) which prevents him from feeling pain, so his father forbade Glen from playing sports, fighting or anything that could cause him to sustain injuries (which he would not know about since he wouldn't be able to feel them).
-Kane made a friend named "Brian Erben". I'm not sure why, but the name strikes me as familiar. It should be interesting to see how he connects to the story (if at all), and how Kane meets up with Katie Vick (if she existed at all).
I really enjoyed what I read, and being a Kane mark, I will definately pick this book up. :y:
I wonder how they will cover up the insane inconsistencies that have taken place in his life.

I've never really understood nor bothered with fanfic of any kind. If it's not canonical, I won't read it
EDIT:
Wait...that's authorized by WWE? Christ. They go from books that break kayfabe (like stories that happen on the road) to authorized fanfic.

Lol... nah this would seriously be a fun read because of how badly they fucked the Kane character up.

Of course it is, it's a book about a fucking fictional character. It's got me intrigued, though, because Kane was my favourite wrestler when I started watching wrestling. But since then so much has happened to fuck up his storyline, it should be interesting to see if they CAN explain it all.

this is probably the funniest book ever written.
Kane has some kind of biological disease (or perhaps the curse) which prevents him from feeling pain,
So wait how has he ever been beaten?

Dammit, this book's gonna CREATE more inconsistencies than it'll try to explain.

LOL seriously if he can't feel pain then wtf was with him during the pregnancy angle when he was crying and being a total bitch because the baby died? and again when after he got his ass kicked he would come out all bandaged up...
TerranRich

About the baby thing, that's mental anguish, not physical pain. There's a difference!
But yeah, I chalk it up to the reader marking out for Kane and thinking of him as some invinsible, unhurtable monster.

oh.. now that i'm thinking about it when he chokeslammed Snitsky off the stage before the Royal Rumble and he was out because of injuries sufferd then he came back all bandaged and bruised... good job Vince, you get a A for trying.

"Pain is the body's warning mechanism. I have to watch what I'm doing all the time, I have to be careful not to get into fights or play sports or do any of those kinds of things because since I can't feel pain I'll never notice things like cuts or bruises or broken bones."
all the cuts, bruises.. yeah real good job Vince...

Wait, that one didn't make sense. What are you sarcastically congratulating Vince for this time?

I wanna read about the whole Katie Vick thing... how they explain that one...
Didn't Kane AT LEAST once get blasted in the eye with a fire ball, and then sold it like he was shot in the head?
LOL, I wonder if this line is in the book...
"In school, I studied Dentistry..."

It's really depressing to think about how insanely bad-ass Kane was, and now we see him crying ... and.. POSING FOR PICTURES... Kane is dead.

It doesn't say he can't be hurt, it says he can't feel pain. If all your nerves are dead in your hand, you could still cut it. According to this book, Kane can't FEEL pain, it doesn't say he could survive a nuclear explosion.
I think you're all being too hard on the book. Looks pretty decent, IMO. Should be good, even if just to laugh at the way they explain some shit.

Is that Shane McMahon? He looks 54 years old there.
On the book topic, this proves WWE is completely fucking lost.
YOU CAN NOT air programming geared towards adults, with half-naked bimbos, etc., and then expect people to buy into childish characters like Kane, Carlito, etc. It won't be as successful as gearing programming either one way or the other.
You either have to commit to kids and family programming, or commit to adult themed stuff like ECW or even late '90's WWF. They pull shit like this and wonder why house show crowds are down, PPV buyrates come in lowe than expected, and why they do not move any action figures except for the Classics line.
If this were early '90's WWF, this book would be perfect - but with their current, less than genious, marketing strategy, it's completely and totally ridiculous.

Very true, O Man Of The Kayfabe. This book would have fit in well around 1997 when Kane was new. Now Kane's character has..."evolved" and wrestling is no longer in that state where outlandish characters need to be explained. We just want to see Kane wrestle (for the most part) and forget he ever spoke with a vocalizer, or Brisco & Patterson ever acted horrified at his (un-)burnt face.
