Trish set to return to WWE

In the summer of 2001, Trish Stratus was out of action as she recovered from an ankle injury.

Stratus had three months to watch RAW from the comfort of her living room and contemplate her eventual return.

“During that time away, I decided to make the commitment to be a full-time wrestler once I returned,” Stratus told WWE.com. “And when I came back I won the Women’s Championship for the first time, so that was a career-changing decision.”

Now, four years later, Stratus is nearly fully recovered from a herniated disc in her lower back. Stratus, who last appeared on WWE television at Backlash in May, has been keeping up with RAW from home, and is looking forward to another successful comeback.

“I’ve been sitting at home and watching how the RAW landscape has changed,” Stratus said. “It’s very interesting. But I look forward to coming back and doing what I do best, and that’s delivering Stratisfaction.

Anyone remember Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves? Remember in the early scenes, Robin returns from the Crusades to find the country in shambles, his home burned, his servant blinded, and poor fluffy...Maybe that part was Men in Tights. Anyway, this is what Trish is returning to. If she wants to be a serious competitor, this is not the place to be it, since she has one competitor. In other words, here's a list of her competitors within the WWE right now.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Maybe they could bring Lita into the scene, but that's not only pointless, it's downright dangerous. There's Ashley and Red there, who might be good in a few years, but so far Hemme hasn't taken to the learning curve (And is best suited as a retarded cheerleader for a retarded wrestler) and Ashley. Ashley has been training for wrestling for a couple months? Not a great Pedigree.

So what is Trish's place in this "new landscape?" I mean, she's hot, but I've always read that she was interested in more than simply being T&A. This is not the place to showcase your abilities, unless said abilities include hot dog eating or pushing up your cleavage. Of course, if that's what she wants, if she's okay with this, who cares? I'm just curious because I LIKE having a woman's division.

Well the sensible idea would be to invest in new womens talent, what the fuck ever happened to bringing that Alexis laree chick in? Bring some talent in, pad it with female jobbers, and there you go. Sadly this is the WWE. Sense dies a lonely and forgotten death here. Torrie and Candace probably will be the new division.

WWE was the last bastion of hope that any women's division had of surviving. WCW never had one. TNA never had one. ECW sure as hell didn't have one. WWE was the last remaining place, and all they have to show for it is a title and two real competitors. It's very sad indeed. All one can hope for is a revival of the division and Vince coming out and saying, "Nah, I'm just fucking with all of you, here are Jazz, Molly, Ivory, and Nidia, back for you guys."

To be honest, aside from Victoria, Melina might have a chance in the women's division, as would new talent they brought in that had any talent. Divas like Sharmell, Christy, Ashley and Lita would be good with a little training and practice.

My suggestion, as I had said before, would be to move Trish to SmackDown with the Women's title, and then rebuild from there. It does seem like 3/4ths of all the avaliable talent for that title is on SD! You have only Victoria and maybe Ashely (provided that the latter girl can improve on her already decent, IMO, skills) on RAW, but, as TR said, Sharmell, Melina, Christy, and a few others are on SD! Imagine Melina getting that Women's title. That would push the entire MNM stable up a bit since they could have another title reign to add to their stable.

Moving the division to SD might not be the best thing to do, but they might not have too much of a choice right now if they want some real competition.

KK, leave Sharman alone. I mean damn, looking at Booker T what else can he get. I think the women's division in the future is looking bright with Ashley, Melina, Sharman, Christy and Lita, but by the time they finally come into their own Trish might be in her late 30's. She'll probably be like Moolah and hold the title until she's damn near 50 because there's no competition.

Well, Ive seen Torrie Wilson put on some matches that were almost watchable, maybe Trish can carry her to a few good matches and then go on to feud with Vicky. Maybe thats what there doing... making a stable of heel divas to go after Trish.
