According to the Futon Critic Television Website, ALL six broadcast networks: ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The WB and UPN will present a one-hour commercial-free simulcast on Friday, Sept. 9 (8:00-9:00 PM) entitled: SHELTER FROM THE STORM: A CONCERT FOR THE GULF COAST”.

Here is the link to the article.

That means that, as it stands now, the first episode of Friday Night SmackDown! will be either postponed or delayed, which is the rumor around the business right now, everywhere in the US unless the local affiliates choose to not air the concert.

How funny they're advertising all these big happenings, and it gets postponed at best.

Poetic justice, considering their failure to deliver all these other times, despite having all the tools.

I don't want to see Hurricane Shane Helms on TV anymore. Vince is mocking the situation much like the London/Hassan situation. I demand that he be off my TV screen for good!

Vince's had the best timing lately, hasn't he?

And what ^ said. :shifty:

Hurricanes happen EVERY year, just as Earthquakes do and did when John Tenta was working with the WWF. I know you guys are joking, but there is nothing special about the "timing" here. This isn't the first time Hurricane's gimmick has been found to be offensive during the hurricane season, and unless the WWE finally does something else with Helms, I doubt it'll be the last.

Doesn't matter. It was going to be postponed here ANYWAY because of the fucking Yankees.

You can't really blame them for keeping the Hurricane gimmick. After all, it was created before the fact. It's just like saying the second Lord of the Rings was a potshot at 9/11, but it was the book's title, which was released DECADES ago. Yeah, JRR Tolkien had a time machine...

Yeah, but look at 50 foot wave, who got shit for the Tsunami. Oh, it's not like they had the name, a record, or popular exposure before that. No, let's complain.

There's nothing special with the timing of most of these incidents. The WWE is just more PC now than it used to be.
