Interesting one this. Is thinking back to how I first got into wrestling and it was actually earlier than I thought. My first PPV was the Royal Rumble in 1994, but then I recalled that I was incredibly jealous that my friends had gone to see the WWE at the Royal Albert Hall in London (and saw the LOD no doubt) and that was years before 1994.
Then I remembered. It was watching Tatanka down some jobber on Sky Sports on a saturday afternoon. I was a complete mark and I guess they were the smarks of their time. They told me that he was undeafeted and I was sold. I guess seeing him win was my first Mark Out moment.
The bigger shame is that my mum hated wrestling and forbid me and my brother from watching. So sneaking over to my mates to watch was our dirty little secret.

Mine was watching Wrestlemania 8 with my grandfather. I was sitting on his lap when Bret Hart beat Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior ended the show.
British Wrestling on Saturdays on ITV with Dickie Davies in the 80's. Far too early in life to remember names or anything.

First wrestling memory would be the first RAW I ever saw, was I guess the first time Vince McMahon got the Stone Cold Stunner. I didn't even really know who SCSA was and I still marked out. From that day on I caught RAW every week.

I watched that tape at my smark mates' house. I also watched Mania 9 the same day. Needless to say I wasn't overly impressed by the latter.
Me aged 8 - "Oh my god! That guy isn't wearing any clothes."
Smark mate - "That's Giant Gonzales."
Me - "Who?"

Didn't ITV used to show wCw on saturdays too. I remember being very confused as to what wCw was. I knew about WWF but didnt understand why there was a second federation too, and then I saw Hogan wrestling and I assumed that...
It's World Championship Wrestling right? Championship? Well, it must be the place where all the people who win the WWF championship go after the win the belt when they retire.
To an extent I was right

wCw!
It looks so much cooler, like the cool new logo the WWE designed for the invasion (and then never used)
WCW was the first promotion I watched regularly. Probably sometime in 1996 I started. I switched over to the WWF in early 1997.

Apparently I hav always watched wrestling since I was really really little but my first vivid memory of wrestling is of The Giant (Big Show) absolutely destroying the Renegade in WCW.
Giant came out, Renegade didnt even get in a punch I think then a chokeslam and it was over.

Sometime back in 92, I was flipping through the channels until I saw Sargeant Slaughter face in EXTREME CLOSEUP cutting a promo. Me being the G.I. Joe mark that I was, my immediate reaction was  SARGEANT SLAUGHTER! The show ended right then, and I resolved to myself that I would be sitting in this spot next week to watch whatever show it was that Sargeant Slaughter was on.
And here I am today.

Hmmmmmmmmm...now that I think of it...
WWF Superstars on Saturday mornings. I was sad they took it off the air. Hell, I even saw the begining of HHH and hated him then. I still hate him matter of fact.

Rey Mysterios WWE debut. At least I think it was his debut. Knowing WWE now it prob wasn't, but I was just all whoa  at his stuff. Then I had to do stuff on Thrusdays (I didnt even know RAW existed), and then I guess prob 2 years or so later the smackDOWN! after the 2004 Royal Rumble, I was flipping through the channels and Mysterio had a match and I was all "oh yeah ", and the ME of that was a smackDown only Royal Rumble, which Eddie Guerrero won, then he won at No Way Out. And i been watching ever since :(
yeah only been watching for like a year and a half :shifty: :(

let's see I got one for WCW and one for WWF.
WCW - in the 90's. I remember seeing Rick Rude smashing Ricky Steamboat's face into the cement until it started bleeding and the next thow they said that Steamboat had a broken nose and a cracked cheek bone because of it. And bein that I was so you ng I was like
WWF - The actual moment that got me interested in WWF and also got me liking Undertaker was when he was battling it out with Bezerker. Bezerker knocked Taker down to the mat with his shield. Then Bezerker took his sowrd, lifted it high then drove it trying to hit Undertaker but Taker rolled out of the way and the sword went through the ring. Once again I was like

I'd seen it ever since I was really young on Saturday mornings like 89-90ish but my first clear memory was going to a small (may have been benefit) show that WCW did in a Moose Lodge in my city. I met Sting there and talked to him and his neice for a while before he signed his name on a napkin that I had :D He won a battle royal later that night.
This was when I was about 5.
Ever since then I started watching regulary and was really into it.

Chris Jericho beating Stevie Ray for the Television Title, I think. The Giant came out to help Jericho win. This was in 1998 I do believe, on WCW Thunder. Ive been a Jericho fan and a wrestling fan ever since.

I remember watching that show Gorilla Monsoon used to host Saturday mornings that recapped all the matches that happened on Raw and had two special saturday matches. I was so young then, but I still remember. My first live match was awesome too. it was a WWF house show in like 95 or 96. Vintage Undertaker squashed some jobber in a casket match and it's true that when the lights go out and Taker's music hits you get goosebumps. I marked out big time. Amazing experience. Great thread man.

I remember Steamboat fueding with Rude with Steamboat's nose all wrapped up but I didnt see that event.
I totally remember watching that incident when the Bezerker tried to kill The Undertaker. I was so scared as a little kid (7-8 years old). It was definitely a classic moment.
***************
My own memories go like this. I dont remember the actual moment I started watching wrestling but I remember that when I was 4 (im now going to be 20 in 5 weeks) my cousin kept talking about the Ultimate Warrior this and the Ultimate Warrior that and somehow I bugged my parents about the Ultimate Warrior and I started watching.
The earliest specific memories I had are that one weekend I stayed over my cousin's house in Jersey and I begged them to watch WWF Superstars and they let me. Then the Funeral Parlor comes on (I forget the guest) but I remember flipping out and saying I was scared, running into their kitchen and telling them repeatedly to let me know when the it (the segment) was over. That is vivid in my mind.
I also remember watching lots of wrestling during the week. I would watch Superstars, Prime Time Wrestling (which was amazing), Saturday Night Main Event (when it was on) and whatever else I could find. One saturday morning... I found myself watching "WCW Power Hour" which I remember had The Barbarian vs some scrub, followed by "WCW Worldwide" and that was like 8am and 9am then on my local FOX station we had WWF Superstars, WWF Wrestling Challange. So with all of the wrestling during the week and then 4 hours on saturday... my life was wrestling and this was at age 5 or 6. My parents got so pissed off that I was watching so much wrestling that they took away the cable with the excuse that "I was abusing it" (at 6 years old). That was classic. Then after crying for a full week, I saw wrestling on saturday morning and I was able to handle no cable.
Other memories I that are vivid include watching WWF Superstars in 1993 and watching the Nasty Boys come out to the ring as tweeners, just becoming faces and they were chasing Money Inc. for the tag titles and Jimmy Hart was managing both teams. As the Boys were coming to the ring, Doink came out and he had a present for them. The Nasty Boys opened the gift and it turned out to be the foam republicas of the TagTeam titles and they were kinda pissed then sorta played along. At least to my memory.
I remember watching the Ultimate Warrior be put into the casket by the Undertaker and crying to see if he would make it out alive and watching all of the officials try to bust open the casket. I remember watching Papa Shango put the voodoo curse on the Warrior and watching his boots catch fire outside the ring and at the end of Superstars one time, the Warrior was throwing up violently.
I remember watching Shawn Michaels beat the British Bulldog on SNME after stumbling upon SNME because it was on a different channel than Prime Time and I didnt realize it was on. I forget the other matches on the card. But I remember seeing the Shawn Michaels name logo and the Bulldog's name logo on the screen at the same time.
I remember my first live event at the Philadelphia Spectrum. I was 7 and my Dad and I had floor seats which were a problem for me at the time (not anymore being 6'4") and I remember watching The Rockers come out and fight Power & Glory. It might have been Summerslam 1990 but Im not totally sure on that. I remember that the Warrior was the Champion at the time.
The first WCW event I attended was at the Philadelphia Civic Center where Sting took on Vader and Ron Simmons took on Jake the Snake (in 1992) and 2 Cold Scorpio wrestled a 15 minute draw to Chris Benoit I believe. I remember the crowd chanting for 5 more minutes. I wanted to buy a WCW belt at the event but my uncle and aunt (who I was with) told me after the event. After the show, the belts were sold out and I was pissed. So I got a Sting t-shirt instead.
So thats some of my early memories. Ive been watching this shit for 15-16 years now. I usually read what people are saying instead of posting myself but I love this board.
