I think McGrath was the drummer on that EP, and from what I remember he did 1 live show with them and then left the band, at which point Alex Rodriguez left Open Hand (a then basically defunct band) to join Saosin. Ask mitchanthropic because I might be wrong.

Yeah, Pat McGrath played drums on the Translating the Name EP as a favour to the band, since he was their friend or something. I think he was always only supposed to be a ring-in until they found a permanent drummer. :$
