I bought Mania 7 & 8 the other day and finished watching 7 yesterday. I mostly skipped though parts of it, but watched the main guys wrestle. Although I'm not a fan of Warrior, I watched his match against Savage.

Warrior was face and Savage was heel and their match was a loser leaves WWF match. Anyway, Savage ended up losing and had to leave. At the time Sensational Sherry, or Queen Sherry at the time, was Savage's manager and then at the end of the match turned on him.

Sherry was kicking Savage about and the crowd were booing like crazy when all of a sudden MISS ELIZEBETH came running from the crowd, threw Sheery from the ring and her and Savage reunited. The crowd were in tears over this. The emotion from it all obviously got too much for some people. I've capped some reactions, most are extemely ROFL. I wish today's wrestling still had this ability to make people in attendance cry, and not because of the poor show they are watching.

Heenan laughed at this ginger:

It's quite sad watching these old ppvs. I counted a total of 8 people who have died from this one ppv alone. To think it was only 14 years ago is quite shocking.

One of my favorite matches ever. I remember wtaching that live and it actually made my mom tear up a little. And she hated wrestling. It's too bad these kinds of love storylines are gone from wrestling these days because they would garner interest from the women 30-50 demographic. I remember a lof of women tuned in for the whole Angle/Steph/Test thing and when they ended that, there went that demographic.

I remember a lof of women tuned in for the whole <s>Angle</s> HHH/Steph/Test thing and when they ended that, there went that demographic.

Angle didn't get involved until the middle of the Mcmahon-Helmsley era. And then it was Angle/Steph/HHH.

And we all know how THAT angle ended...

no, I know what I typed. The Angle/HHH/Steph thing was what really hooked them because everyone wanted to see her go with Angle. But it never happened.

I would just like to point out, the kid in the last picture was dressed in a copy of one of Savage's costumes, whilst waving a Warrior soft toy around.

You can see Rob Harvey marking out for Warrior in Summerslam 92 :shifty:

I can see why you'd want to get 50 year old chicks into wrestling.

seriously though, I think wm 4 was better. I was a HUGE macho-mark my brother liked hogan. wm 4 was the best night I can remember on ppv. 4 matches all aginst guys who outmuscled/outweighed etc. the ending was almost ruined by hogan just being there.

That's nothing.

You should see how many die of boredom from the current PPV's. :shifty:

LOL. Funny pictures.

Yeah, on the Taker DVD, I watched Taker/Bret from Summerslam 97 with Shawn as ref. Owen and Pillman came down to distract Taker and it was kind of depressing seeing the two of them side by side and knowing they're no longer with us.

yeah, i watched the Royal rumble from 2000 and I couldn't believe how many have passed away since then! I think that at one time, half of the guys in the ring were dead...e.g, Crash Holly, Bossman, Davey Boy :nono:

Meh, Savage and Liz had been together for five, six, or seven years, and Savage was someone that was pretty high on the card, and that people actually cared about even before he turned on Liz.
