gotta put these guys down by three touchdowns. Biggest drive of the game right here.

off to bed *tips hat to RP*

Played a good game, Dungy went right at the Pats Weaknesses.

Pats Offense played good, Pats Defense got killed.

See you in Indy in the playoffs!

There's no way the Colts can beat the Bengals, Steelers, Chargers, Jaguars, and Seahawks over a 6 week span.

I probably agree. Just throwing it out there tho.

I'm the most worried about Bengals and Jags.

The scheduel was set up to be very easy in the beginning , but like Supreme said. Thats probably the toughest remaining schedule in the league.

LOL a field goal was all they needed, instead Peyton rolled out and sidearmed a heaving, running prayer that landed right in Harrison's chest. When I saw the throw, I said "interception." When I saw the catch, I said "Peyton Manning is good. :("

I didn't see the whole game, though. Tell me, folks... how absolutely TORN were the big two up there? TOM BRADY PEYTON MANNING TOM BRADY PEYTON PEYTON PEYTON BRADY MANNING BRADY BRADY BRADY PEYTON BRADY belicheck BRADY PEYTON PEYTON freeney PEYTON.

I'm working on getting tickets. Maybe i can meet up with you irl and kick you in the nuts just for the sake of telling people on here that i kicked you in the nuts.

Nah you'd have to stick your finger in his butt, then he would dominate you for a good 45 minutes before the cops came; thus living up to your respective usernames.

I dont know what you mean for the last paragraph, but that throw was really nice. It was Manning's night no doubt. He was just about flawless if he hadnt thrown that stupid INT.

I watched about five minutes of it. The part where Belichek was challenging the touchdown or something in the 4th. I also saw Freeney go too quick for himself even and he fell down without being touched.

Yeah, if it wasn't for mistakes, we'd all be flawless.

Randall Gay was the starting safety. The same Randall Gay that was an undrafted free agent cornerback coming out of college last year. Its tough for a secondary for like that to play the probably the best passing team in the NFL. I want to say if they meet in the playoffs things will be different but that's only if the secondary somehow gets patched up. I don't know how that is going to happen either. Harrison is out for the year and so isn't Tyrone Poole. Hopefully they still somehow cut Duane Starks: "I'm not a phsyical corner"

The defense really blew this game but it was good to see the Patriots move the ball on offense. If it wasn't for that Dillon fumble at the end of the first half I don't think the game would have been so one sided. Patriots where on their way to scoring most likely. That is a 14 point swing right there.

I think Poole would have been torched also. He's not that good of a corner. About as good as Duane Starks.

Jesus Shuttlesworth

Starks is the worst cornerback I've seen on the Patriots in a long time. Poole isn't the greatest corner of all time or anything but he could help. Pretty much they have no depth at position in the defensive secondary. They have 4 defensivebacks out for the year. Harrison is not coming back though and that is going to hurt them big time.

Anyone see Clinton Portis's socks this week though? Gotta be a fine haha

Speaking of point swings, how about last year to this year? Troy Brown was at CB last year and yall did a fine job. You pressured Manning into mistakes and whatnot. He was heaving them downfield this year. It's like the Colts had been gameplanning since the offseason for this game. Yet the Pats were like, meh. Wah wah, no Rodnay, and only half of Bruschi ( ). Cry about it. It's still Belicheck. I want to believe he let the Colts have this one to make the playoff win all the more gratifying. But maybe we have to face reality... Bill Belicheck is HUMAN.

Nevermind didn't realize the Pats schedule is way light in the 2nd half

Yah people talk about how easy the Colts schedule is in the first half and whine about when the Patriots have Miami (x2) Jets (x2) and New Orleans.

Miami in Florida won't be a walkover. Even if it is Gus Frerotte.

I think Poole would have been torched also. He's not that good of a corner. About as good as Duane Starks.

It depends on which Poole you get. When the Pats signed him, I hated the move, I had images of him spinning like a top against people, yet when he got to NE his game completely changed, and he improved and played physical, that being said he's still just like 5'2 or something. But the Pats would have been in much better shape with him then Starks.

You pressured Manning into mistakes and whatnot. He was heaving them downfield this year.

Yeah, a lot of that was not having Harrison who used to blitz a lot and Seymore.

It's like the Colts had been gameplanning since the offseason for this game.

It's like how the Red Sox would build a team to face the Yankees. The Colts feel the key to the superbowl is having home field for the playoffs, the last place they wanted to be in New England in January. The weather and field is always a factor, especially on a dome team. Although, I did hear reported by more then one source (Peter King being one) that the original season opener game was supposed to be Indy @ New England and either Dungy, Polin or both went to the NFL and said they didn't want that.

Yet the Pats were like, meh. Wah wah, no Rodnay, and only half of Bruschi ( ). Cry about it.

Nah, the Pats have never cried about injuries, and typically win with injuries, although as Schottinhimer said a few weeks ago "eventually injuries catch up with you". Bruschi, Johnson (retire), Harrison, Seymore all key injuries. But still doesn't change, this is the NFL people get hurt and you still need to win. Dillon is playing at like 50% because they have no one else, Faulk is done for the year, Pass is hurt, they brought in a new FB last week and brought back Mike Cloud... But Dilllon's the man, he'll play hurt, and a few weeks ago they wouldn't let him play hurt he was pissed.

But maybe we have to face reality... Bill Belicheck is HUMAN.

The reality is, everyone is human, Belicheck, Brady, etc... although, if you look at the game, the Offense had a pretty good game. It was clearly the defense and more importantly the defensive secondary that lost this game.

Yah people talk about how easy the Colts schedule is in the first half and whine about when the Patriots have Miami (x2) Jets (x2) and New Orleans.

People we're talking about strength of schedule based on last years results. Last year, the Jets were 10-6 won a wild card.

Based on last year results, the Patriots had the 2nd hardest schedule in the history of the NFL, (the Phins had the hardest because they play the Pats x2 and the Pats play the Phins x2). The pats also had the toughest "6 games" in the history of the nfl.

Schedules (who you play) are made up I think 5yrs in advance, the only thing undecided until the year before is the dates of games.

So yeah, I got a kick out of people around here who thought that it was a conspiracy to help the Colts. That's crap!

(put that in bold so you didn't think I agreed with the whole schedule complaints crap).

Actually Ellias or one of the sports stats groups did it, and the Pats had the toughest 6 game stretch in NFL history and one of the toughest full season schedules in history, but those studies don't take into account the current team, it's history, the Jets ain't last year Jets, etc..

The Colts six game stretch is brutal. I'd be happy with 3 out of 5 games as wins honestly.

being humble, the Jags will spread you out again and give you a run.

Pittsburg D is good, but their offense can't keep up with you, especially in Indy.

16-0 wouldn't shock me, the Colts have a great team, plain and simple.

if the Colts make it 10-0, then you'll start seeing the old Dolphins at the games, and then if the Colts lose a game they start celebrating.

The Cincinatti game will be a shoot out. They are the one team that could win a shootout with Indianapolis. Difference will probably be turnovers and they are pretty good in that catagorie, but so are we. So then you'd have to look at defensive line play. I think we win that catagorie. Colts will win in a shootout.

Pittsburgh can beat us if they do what most teams have failed to do which is run the ball 30+ times on us. Even tho we have Corey Simon in there and are D lin is decent. We still havent been tested much. I thought San Fransico's game plan was brilliant. Ever run play they ran was a draw play. They let are definsive ends explode up field then just snuck it up the middle. They gained alot of yards on us.

I'm not getting into this now, but i question Bellicheks game planning. Honestly i thought it was pretty piss poor. They barely ran the ball on the Colts. Didnt try to go down field much. Pretty much played to the Colts strengths. The onside kick was a big WTF moment for me. Your down only 2 td's and theres 20 minutes to go. You go for a play that works 20% of the time if that . Basically he decided to give the ball to Manning on the 30 yard line instead of the Colts 20 yard line. Made no sense to me at all. The challenge on the second Harrison td was embarressing . Not benching Duane starks til the 3rd quarter was pretty stupid considering I think he was burned before the game even started. Then he gor burned on the first play of the game for a 40+ yarder.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
11-08-2005, 06:57 PM
Well I think they reluctant to bench Starks since bringing Gay up to play corner ment Matt Stone (who has seen 0 time this season) had to play safety. I totally forgot about Troy Brown too, their secondary seems to be in more trouble then it was last year and there is no talk of him playing on the other side the of the ball - but at the sametime last night was his first game back since the 1st weekend of October I believe.

Belicheck said on the Challenge, he was going to use a Time out anyway, so he figured why not challenge the play if he's going to use a time out anyway.

I love all the reports of Bill Polian shooting off his mouth... what a putz.

"The rules apply to everyone else but not the patriots".

Even worse was at the end of the game, (which I didn't understand why the pats ran a play at the end of the game, unless they were thinking of the points scored tie breaker) but aperently Polian said "break his fucking leg" refering to Flutie.

real nice, what a jackass... I like the rivalry, and unlike the Dolphins, I don't dislike the Colts or their players, but I tell ya.. Polian gives me someone to hate on the Colts.

Can't fault him 100% on that one, he was supposed to have help on that play, the Colts ran a good play, flag patterns to the same side, and the saftey bit on the TE instead of helping on the WR.

Is it a general rule for NFC East fans to be so unrealistically supportive?

Kind of like the NFC North fans always being so pragmatic... and for the most part, pessimistic. And rightly so. NFC South fans seem to be the best, except for Krispy... though it's cool that he loves the Aint's when it's obvious God doesn't...

And of course, the NFC West has no fans.

You’re response:

Just face the fact, the Pat's got DOMINATED again!!! Only this time, they weren't lucky enough to get some b.s. calls. The Pat's aren't going anywhere this year. Bet they really miss Crennel and Weiss don't they? Not that Belicheck isn't a good coach, but it's ridiculous that alot of people call him one of the greatest coaches ever. It just proves how good your assistant coaches can make you look.

This is why I said “get a clue”.

1) Dominated again? BS Calls? What are you talking about? How many times in the last 2 years have the Patriots been dominated? Please explain this one.
2) Pats aren’t going anywhere? No, with all the injuries, they probably won’t make the super bowl, they will make the playoffs and Win the east, and once in the playoffs anything is possible, all depends on who they face round 1 (or possible get a bye).
3) It’s ridiculous that a lot of people call him one of the greatest coach’s ever? Before that you say they really miss Crennell and Weis and then finish that it proves how good your assistant coaches can make you look.
a. So, 3 super bowls in 4 years, the longest winning streak in NFL history doesn’t make you one of the best coaches ever? Then what does? Lombardi, Walsh, Johnson, do you think people rank them as some of the best coaches ever because of the way they teach their players? No, it’s their wins, their division wins, playoff wins, and super bowl wins. If we’re not going to judge a coach on W-L and Championships, then how do we judge them?
b. I’m not sure if you’ve watched the offense Monday night, but they had a pretty good game. Brady didn’t have an incomplete pass in the first half, finished the game 22/33, 265yds 3TD. A banged up Dillon was 12 for 40 (3.3yd avg) his longest was 13 so if you take that out he was 11 for 27, 2.45avg. Now, keep in mind they were facing one of the best defenses in the league, so tell me how this was dominated.
c. I won’t argue, the Colts offense (specifically the passing game) threw at will on the Pats secondary, I think I’ve said that more then once.
d. As for the Assistant coaches, since the Offense is doing well, we’ll focus on Defense. Please tell me how Crennell would have helped this team? It’s not the play calls on defense, it’s the injuries/lack of players. Ted Johnson, Ted Bruschi, Seymore, Harrison, Poole, the secondary is playing horrible, had nothing to do with coaching, its lack of personnel. I don’t think Crennell had a magic wand to make people healthy.

Ok, let’s continue.

A clue huh! Did you even watch either game they played? They got completely dominated in every aspect of the game against Buffalo, sure the Pat's pulled it out, but they got whooped and you can't deny that. Then they get stomped by Indy, and mind you, both of these games were at HOME.

Uh-huh, they won 21-16, they only got out scored in 1 qtr (the 2nd) and that was 3-0. The Bills played a great game and the Pats Secondary made Holcomb look like Manning, but completely dominated? Cleary, you didn’t watch that game.

As for the Colts game, “stomped” yeah, the Defense specifically the secondary did. James did get 104yds, but it took 34 carries. The defensive secondary of the Patriots lost the game, plane and simple.

As for the games being home, yeah, the stadium holds around 60K, the field conditions for Buffalo were fine, for Indy the field was in bad shape due to rain/soccer the night before, but the weather was fine. So, home field really wasn’t an issue.

This is pretty typical for you though, you know, someone knocks your team and instead of saying "yeah they got beat, there not the same team they where, or they have problem's" you resort to throwing insults. Why don't you explain why you don't think they got dominated? Your opinion is no better than mine, or anyone else's for that matter. Grow up you whine-ass!!

If you had read before, I had already explained why the Pats got beat Monday night, I told you to get a clue, because you responded to a quote about belicheck on the challenge and Polin shooting off his mouth with something completely different that I never even addressed in that quote, and heck before I even said anything Outlaw slapped you. Yeah, when you clearly make statements that are so clueless, you’re going to be told to “get a clue”, especially when you quote something and respond to something completely different.

Just face the fact, the Pat's got DOMINATED again!!!
While I do disagree about the Pats being “dominated again” and basic stats back me up, the quote you responded to, I never said anything about them not being dominated.

Ok, that’s enough, if there’s something you don’t understand let me know and I’ll try this again for you.

You say, the Pat's are deceimated with injuries, I agree, but what makes this year's team any different than last year's? As i recall last year's team had lot's of injuries, particularly in the secondary, hence why Troy Brown had to play there. With that said, i recall the Pat's winning the SuperBowl. So i have a hard time listening to someone justify injuries as an excuse as to why their team isn't doing good. They did it last year, why not this? Well i can answer that, Crennel and Weiss. Good coaches can make average player's better. Look at the Pat's offensive line for example, a bunch of no-names, but guess what good coaching has done for them. I'm not taking anything away from Belicheck, he is a hell of a coach, but doesn't it seem weird how much the team has fallen from last year?

Indianapolis moves the ball at will against the Pats

09:53 AM EST on Tuesday, November 8, 2005

BY TOM E. CURRAN
Journal Sports Writer

FOXBORO -- Just another game? No extra incentive for the Indianapolis Colts to beat their nemesis, thePatriots, last night?

Try again.

With four seconds remaining and the Patriots hurrying to the line to squeeze off one final play in a 40-21 blowout by Indy, Colts president Bill Polian said with annoyance, "They're trying to run another play. He's going to throw another pass."

And as backup quarterback Doug Flutie rolled out with pressure on his heels, Polian muttered, "Break his leg."

This was a game of dire import for the Colts and they secured it, improving to 8-0 with an unapologetic assault on the Patriots' secondary.

Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, winless in New England in seven tries, went 28-for-37 for 321 yards and three touchdowns while Indy went 12-for-17 on third down and rolled up 453 yards of offense.

"Obviously, tonight we just didn't match up very well with the Colts in any aspect of the game," Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said. "Their football team just completely outplayed us tonight. That's about it."

The Patriots' mastery over the Colts has been well documented. They'd won 14 of 16 games over Indy dating back to 1995, including the last six in a row. In each of the past two seasons, the Colts had been flying high before getting slapped back to earth and out of the playoffs.

Indy's agitation with the Patriots and Belichick -- well veiled in public comments -- was evident in the words of the hot-tempered Polian during the game.

When the Colts scored a late touchdown to go up 40-21 and lined up for a two-point conversion, the Patriots were in the midst of changing personnel. In an effort to buy time, Belichick threw his challenge flag onto the field.

"There's one set of rules for him and one for everybody else," raged Polian.

"Just kick [the extra point]," someone in the press box suggested.

"Kick it [my behind]," answered Polian.

It will no doubt please Polian and the rest of the Indy entourage to know how miffed New England was with the loss.

"I don't have much to say," said quarterback Tom Brady. "We got our butts kicked. We made too many mistakes. There's a lot of football to be played, we're 4-4."

Brady left the postgame podium without taking questions.

This was just a regular-season win, so the monkey may not be off the Colts' back entirely. But his hairy little fingers slipped last night.

The beleaguered New England defense that just didn't have the horses to keep up with Indianapolis. The Colts scored on seven of their first eight possessions.

Midway through the third quarter, the Patriots pretty much acknowledged their inability to stop the Indy offense when they tried an onsides kick after a 31-yard touchdown catch by tight end Daniel Graham that made it 28-14. It didn't work. The Colts went on to kick a field goal there after taking over at the Pats' 27.

On the next Pats drive, they went for it on fourth down at the Indy 43. That didn't work, either, and the Colts added another Mike Vanderjagt field goal to make it 34-14.

A 19-yard touchdown pass from Brady to Troy Brown with 10:15 left gave the Pats some life, but it only lasted until Indy drove 74 yards in seven plays on its next drive for a touchdown that made it 40-21.

The Colts pushed a 21-7 halftime lead to 28-7 early in the second half when Dominic Rhodes capped an 11-play drive with a 4-yard run.

The Graham touchdown catch followed, but by then, the Pats knew they were in trouble with a Colts offense bent on deconstructing the Patriots defense that had broken its hearts so many times. So what if it wasn't the same personnel? The uniforms were the same. And so was the hated venue.

The Colts got into the break ahead, 21-7. Not surprisingly, their offense was steamrolling New England's duct-taped secondary, as Manning tuned them up for 181 yards while going 16 for 21 before halftime.

The highly sought (by opposing quarterbacks) Duane Starks was the favorite target as he tried checking Colts wideout Reggie Wayne with minimal success. Wayne finished the first half with six catches for 65 yards and a touchdown. Starks started the second half on the bench.

The Colts' final score of the half was a bit debilitating for New England.

After Indy safety Jason David recovered a Corey Dillon fumble at the Colts' 17 with 2:18 left in the half, Manning went to work.

Working from the shotgun, he hit Marvin Harrison for 17 yards, Wayne for 20, Brandon Stokely for 12 to get to the Pats 24 in three plays and 28 seconds. Three plays later, on a third-and-10 from the Patriots' 10 with 14 seconds left, Manning hit Wayne in the left end zone to make it 21-7.

As for personel.

Last year, you had Ty Law 1/2 the year, You had Seymore most of the year, You had Ted Johnson, Ted Bruschi all year. Rodney Harrison all year.

The big differences on Defense was Bruschi, still is: Ted Johnson (run stopping), Seymore (run stopping and QB pressure) and Harrison. Harrison is a huge loss. Troy Brown was mostly in dime situations. They have less depth and more injuries this year. Plus on offense. Faulk is out, Pass is hurt, Dillon is playing hurt, Matt Light is out, Andruzzi is gone. Yes, the Pats have always played through injured players, but eventually it catches up.

and yes, the stats don't lie, and according to the stats, against the Bills especially there was no "domination".

Did they have better offensive stats? sure, dominating? no, if they completely dominated the Pats they would have won.

So, now I know what this is really all about, you're a die hard bills fan, and 3 rings in 4 years must kill someone who rooted for a team that went 0-4 in a row.

I know how you feel, I was a Pats fan of a team that lost 2 superbowls, destroyed in one of them (you want to talk Domination, see: Bears over Pats in the superbowl!).

All good things come to an end, injuries, players/coaches move on, a bad personel move etc... just like anyone else, enjoy it while we can.

EOE - had a few questions for you, would like if you addressed them. Especially, how you judge a "great coach" and why you don't feel Belicheck is "one of the best ever" and how his OC/DC were "more important" then the OC/DC of any other "great coach".

First of all, i think Belicheck is a good coach as stated in one of my other post's. To me a great coach is someone who can go from one team to another and make them a winner. To me, i think Bill Parcell's is one of the greatest coaches ever. He won twice with the Giant's, brought the Pat's from the gutter to the Super Bowl (although the lost), he brought the Jet's from the gutter to the playoff's for the first time in along time, and now he is doing it in Dallas. What did Belicheck do when he was Cleveland's coach? Nothing that i can remember. Sure he has won three Super Bowl's, and sure i think he is a good coach, but i think that it's obvious that the lose of Crennel and Weiss has really hurt the Pat's. I know they have had their fair share of injuries, but so does everyone else. It's the well coached team's that overcome that. The Pat's did it last year when they had Crennel and Weiss, but they aren't doing it this year. Something isn't right there. As for personel.

Last year, you had Ty Law 1/2 the year, You had Seymore most of the year, You had Ted Johnson, Ted Bruschi all year. Rodney Harrison all year.

Yes, the Pats have always played through injured players, but eventually it catches up.

See the above response. I agree the Pat's have been hurt, but well coached team's are able to insert backup's into those spot's and have them do their job. That's why i feel the loss of Weiss and Crennel is a big reason for the Pat's decline. Granted, this year they have lost some bigger names, like Seymore and Harrison, but they also have Wilfork with another year of experiance and they have that guy they signed from Chicago (name slips my mind) who was out last year. He has played pretty well this year, and they have the emotional lift from getting Bruschi back( not counting the fact that he has done pretty well and will only improve with conditioning).

and yes, the stats don't lie, and according to the stats, against the Bills especially there was no "domination".

Did they have better offensive stats? sure, dominating? no, if they completely dominated the Pats they would have won.

To me there are different types of domination. Did Buffalo do to the Pats what the Bears did to them in 85, No. But Buffalo, dominated time of possesion, which means they controlled the line of scrimmage. Buffalo beat the Pat's in every offensive category except for Holcomb threw 1 int and Brady didn't. Buffalo out-passed them, out-rushed them and caused 2 lost fumbles and 3 sacks. To me Buffalo has alot of weaknesses and room to improve. They kicked three fieldgoals and in my eyes they should have atleast scored two touchdowns instead. Do you consider it to be not dominating because the Pat's won? If Buffalo, would have won the game 16-14 what would you think then? Or if, Buffalo scored a couple more touchdown's instead of kicking field goals? To me, the score of the game doesn't alway's reflect how close the game actually was.
So, now I know what this is really all about, you're a die hard bills fan, and 3 rings in 4 years must kill someone who rooted for a team that went 0-4 in a row.

To me it actually has nothing to do with jealousy of the Pat's. To be honest, i don't hate them at all. I dislike the Dolphin's and the Jet's WAAAAYYYY more than the Pat's. I've actually rooted for the Pat's against the Panthers, Eagles and Rams. The main portion of what i've had to say, stem's from things that were said in the Bruschi topic. About how everyone, mostly Espn, was on his c*ck the whole game. To the point, where it took away from the game. I stick to my opinion's, and i respect your's. I just can't stand it when people can't do it to.

Apparently Priest Holmes might retire this week because of a something on his spine that could paralyze him. I dunno if this was posted because I have been skipping everything in this thread because it is all Colts/Patriots, but here is an article:

Priest Holmes' Career May Be Over
November 9, 2005

Insiders at Arrowhead Stadium tell NBC Action News Sports Director Jack Harry that Priest Holmes, very possibly, has played his final game in a Chiefs uniform. One highly placed source tells Harry, Holmes could announce his retirement as soon as Thursday.

The 32-year-old running back arrived back in town Tuesday night from Miami after undergoing some extensive testing on his spine. Doctors reportedly found a lump and should Holmes take a severe hit, he could become paralyzed. At his weekly press conference Tuesday, head coach Dick Vermeil indicated he didn't really know what was going on with Holmes.

Holmes has already undergone three knee surgeries. He has failed to finish two of the last 3 seasons. He suffered the head injury in the San Diego game, and has now learned of this latest problem with his spine.

Apparently he has head and neck trauma but the whole "lump on his spine" thing is bull, which is kind of a relief. He said he plans to be back next year, doctors see no reason why he can't, just in the immediate future he needs to avoid contact.

So anyway, I just finished my first season (of my new franchise) and drafted Rodrique Wright (DT) out of Texas, and Marcedes Lewis (TE) can't remember where from, but he's ungodly good.

LOL I got DJ Shockley, too; anyone remember hearing his name? He's got to be the worst QB ever. 76 accuracy. Anything over 5 yards ends up wobbling 30 yards in the opposite direction, no joke. So I'd run Lewis in the flats and roll out every play. It worked for a minute, before a goalline lob magically went straight over the middle, right into the hands of the MLB in preseason... :'( Shockley went down because of that.

I've heard other reporters discussing it. What's most interesting is he was in the press box, which is supposed to be a "cheering free zone".

So, before you felt he should be fined, now you don't think he should be?

Also, this whole "rivals columnist" thing, this isn't high school, these guys are pro's and they care about stories, not teams and if it had been made up, there would be a bunch of people coming out against it. So, far, haven't heard anyone deny it.

Again, personally, I don't really care, but does give me another reason not to like him, which is good because I like most the colts players and not having someone to dislike doesn't help a rivalry :)

I just find it funny when given the source you go from "fine him" to "Not really note worthy at all."

I dont care if he said it or not. Is it wrong? Probably. Is it the first time a general manager or owner type has cheered for his team and maybe said something tasteless? Probably not. Has alot worse things happen in the NFL that could be written about. Definetly.

Two things.

1) Your source means dick . Sure its a source, but just because he's a source doesnt mean he's right. Sure you will side with him because this source is from New England.

2) CHeering free zone? Thats the dumbest thing i've heard. I'm not sure of the circumstances, but why would Polian be sitting in there in the first place? By choice or was that the best seat New England could offer him? Reguardless its pretty niave to believe that the president of the Colts would not cheer his team after all the trouble the Colts had with the Patriots.

RP
11-11-2005, 02:21 PM
It's also easy to say it was a muttered quote and then when its denied ( which i doubt Polian even cares or has even heard about this worthless source ) the source can easly said that he misheard him.

Its just stupid to argue about or write about. Its sour grapes. Not from you, but from the writer. Whatever i dont care. Texans next week.

You wouldn't believe he'd say it on the sideline but you would believe it in the press box?

You said he should be fined, but now, you "don't care".

1) Your source means dick . Sure its a source, but just because he's a source doesnt mean he's right. Sure you will side with him because this source is from New England.

the source means dick? so, it would hold more value if it was a reporter from NY? Come'on, this are professional reporters, not your local high school paper.

As for the "cheering free zone", I have no clue why Polian was there, however if you ask any reporters the press box's at any sporting event are considered to be "fan free" zones, it's reporters trying to do their job, they're not there as fans, they're there as reporters. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it's considere a "neutral area".

Whatever, I don't think it's a huge deal, I actually said I didn't think he deserved a fine, I just find it funny that when you didn't think I had a source you said
If he did he should be fined big time.

Tice was the bottom-dollar bandaid for Red McCombs. He wanted an excuse to fire Denny... you can say that Denny and Moss were headaches, but they made MN football fun to watch. Denny with Culpepper the last three years would have at least made the playoffs. esp. with Moss. He wouldn't have had the "commitment to run," and want so desperately to play defense that when the defense buckles, the offense doesn't know what to do. COME ON.

But then, Tice is the lowest possible skill level you can put at head coach. He knows enough to keep the team from falling apart on a superficial level, but while he's trying to make the Vikings look like a real, competitive team, they're falling apart from the inside because the players know they're better than they are playing. They are trying to buy into Tice's philosophy, but are realizing that it doesn't work. So Winfield calls Tice out, gets his way, SURPRISE, defense plays its best all year.
Tice is a horrible coach, but McCombs gutted the front office from top to bottom. An offensive line coach is our head coach. An offensive line coach is our offensive coordinator. He eliminated the security director position (which would have prevented love boat), and many others to save money... he was hoping that he could move the Vikings, but Tags wasn't too keen on the idea.

Tice should still be O-Line coach. He needs to go back to what he knows: Killing fat black men.

Oh and you saw Brady at dinner.... WITH HIS D-LINEMAN!!?!?!?!?

Where was the O-Line? :( You should have shouted "WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FIGURATIVE METAPHORS!?!?!?"

Who do you want for the next coach then Bean? Martz? Weis? Bill Walsh?

Anyone, tbh. I say, if we can get Pete Carroll, then by all means.

Shit, I'd take Ty Willingham. He knows the system, he's been here. He's a stand-up guy, not a whiner. Weis is locked in long-term. Walsh, even if you were serious, would take a couple years like Gibbs in Washington and we have the talent to win now, but in two years we'll probably be capped to death.

I think Martz is the best offensive mind in the league, but a bottom-five coach. I bet that if Martz ran the ball more, Warner would still be a Pro Bowler, instead of a washed-up rattled, frail old man with turf burns on his ass.

I'd like Billick, too. He's a hardheaded egomaniac, and with a QB better than Boller at the helm... assuming Pep can hurry back... I think Billick will dominate. Especially if he works on the offensive side.

And at this moment, I would seriously consider Denny Green. I think they're allowing him to rebuild in AZ, which is cool, but we've seen where it's gotten all the previous AZ coaches...

I want someone with experience, basically. Someone who knows the meaning of the word "gameplan." And someone who doesn't make excuses and/or whine, cry, or ask his players if they want to fight him.

It was said that Tice would bring the franchise back to respectability. He has failed in that, hardcore. The team is even worse now than under Green, and it is not even in the least bit competitive.

At least when Green made his players whiney prima donnas, they still produced and stayed out of prison. Because he kept them happy.

I knew what you meant, but I figured if you read about the "press box" you would have read the rest of the post and know what we were talking about.

If you had, you'd see where a reporter in the press box said something to him and he responded, hence putting him in the Press box, not near by.

Why was he there? Dunno, I would assume with Gillete being one of the newer stadiums they'd have a box for the visiting team.

I found this at ESPN.com

PHILADELPHIA -- The Rev. Jesse Jackson called the Philadelphia Eagles' punishment of Terrell Owens "much too severe."

Jackson said in a statement released Friday that Owens could have been more professional when he publicly complained about his contract, his team and the Eagles' organization.

But Jackson said Owens' suspension without pay for four games and deactivation for the rest of the season is "much too severe for the charge" and hurts the athlete's NFL career at its height.

The civil rights activist said the level of punishment could have been warranted if Owens had been caught shaving points, selling drugs, carrying a gun or fighting fans without sufficient restraint.

"This does not warrant a one-year ban from the game," Jackson said, adding that the Eagles should release Owens to the open market or free agency if they no longer want to associate with him.

Ralph Nader, a consumer activist and former presidential candidate, has already called for the suspension to be rescinded.

Owens was suspended last week after he said in an interview that the Eagles showed "a lack of class" for not publicly recognizing his 100th career touchdown catch, and that the team would be better off with Green Bay's Brett Favre as quarterback. He has since apologized.

Doesn't really mention Nader's part in it, which is what I was interested in.

Somehow I think we're talking about different things.

A press box at most stadiums is "seperate" hence being the "press box", what would it be combined with and how would the Press having their own area create "more work".

Like, a year or two ago there was a guy who made his milestone at an away game; it was not announced, but there was a standing ovation. I think something similar went on with Cris Carter's 100th... I mean, there are so many milestones... ever see those milestone stats? "This is the 13th home game against AFC East teams in a row that this team has won by a margin of 3-5 points." There are always about 20 milestones, with a handful of ones that a player could consider to be "major."

But then, there is no "I" in team, but there is a "Terrell."

Yeah, Jackson of course is making thie a race issue because Reid is White, but he's not Jessie wont acknowledge that it was black players that told the white coach they couldn't deal with the black player anymore.

Nader is arguing a consumer rights issue, that the fans who payed for tickets expected to see him, fans who spend money on the eagles did it to support a team with him.

That doesn't work for me, because what about injuries or trades?

The NFLPA is arguing they have to put him back on the team or cut him. The Eagles wont cut him this year, they don't want a contender picking him up (even though the Eagles are pretty much out of it.) I don't see the NFLPA winning this, because the same happened to Keyshaun Johnson and in both cases the player is being paid to stay away. What would the NFLPA prefer, they let him suit up and sit on the bench by himself all game?

Nader has a point. It's easy for a fatass never-suited-up coach to bench an elite athlete, as Jackson said, in the prime of his career. But that's a year removed from the record books, a year doing the thing you love taken away from you. He's being a bitch, ok. CUT HIM. It's been done before.

The Keyshawn thing may have been a precedent, but it was a wrong one. Why? Because there was no precedent. But think about the precedents from the past: Leather helmets, no illegal hits, players were paid like 10k a year to play... it was horrible to be a player; but the NFLPA has fixed that and they should fix this too. Maybe the trading deadline should be extended.

Why can't they place TO on waivers? Remember when Deion came out of retirement to play for the Raiders, but was still on waivers, so the Chargers signed him when they were the worst team in the league?

Let the worst team around sign him. Afraid that he'll go to a contender? You have a point, a contender the Eagles are not. And secondly, the 49ers weren't worried that he would go to a contender, either. It's part of the goddamned game.

The Eagles treat their players horribly. People go and stay there because it's a winning club. Maybe now that they just don't have what it takes to compete, players will start looking elsewhere.

"We don't care what you do on the field, you're being paid 10 mil per year to keep your mouth shut and behave like a prince. Other than that, you can be Todd Pinkston, as long as you don't say mean things."

:?:

I tell you this much: If people in sports felt the same way people in the Music industry felt, then TO would be the hottest commodity. Controversy sells albums. It also tunes people in to see TO get a 70 yard catch that includes destroying a safety, finished off with him raising up, taking his shirt off and spinning it around just like a helicopta.

Marvin Harrison might be the best, soundest WR in the league... but do people want to watch him run, catch, score, or do they want to watch something interesting?

And someone might argue, "but that will just turn the NFL into the XFL."

If this is the case, how come we are taking things AWAY from what the NFL used to be? We're not BECOMING anything by staying the same. Neon Deion, the Ickey Shuffle... the 85 Bears... I dunno, they didn't get as much controversy as Terrell Owens and Nicolette Sheriden, did they?

They gave up some backup nobody for one good run with the arguably best WR in the game. They made the superbowl and couldn't do it, even though he played an inspired, amazing game. They mistreated him, and NOBODY DENIES that the Eagles are organization-first and shit on players. But it wasn't his fault that they lost the superbowl. "He wasn't the one throwing up in the huddle."

Anyway, what's in it for them? Salary cap. Roster spot. What's in it for them if they keep him on the roster and don't play them? Honestly? Some sort of symbolic victory? We get it, Reid don't take no shit from nobody. Great. So cut him.

But on to the final point... how many places will fire you but make you stay there, sitting in the lobby? :?: If you misbehave, you're fired. That's your analogy. You get fired. You don't get benched. And if you're in an important enough position, like head of FEMA(sp), or some federal/state job, where you're on administrative leave, paid while on vacation? Remember my point: Terrell Owens is somewhere around 31 years old. Most WRs don't even last that long. If it isn't unconstitutional, it should be. When you do what they're doing, you're not helping anyone. OWENS won't change. He's not a rookie. You can't teach him a lesson. It's too late for that. All you can do is worry about YOUR TEAM. And keeping him on the roster does NOTHING good for you. All you're doing is making an example of him, and destroying his livelihood. Yes, he has money, but so many other players are making more money than him, and aren't being put in Time Out. That's bullshit. It is NOT PHILADELPHIA'S PLACE TO PUNISH HIM LIKE THIS.

:shifty:

Sorry, didn't mean to "yell." But hopefully you see my point. I hate Philly. I hate Owens. I just can understand why this is so wrong on so many levels. He's a bad boy. Let the NFL handle it.

If you pin the other team back and hold them "just enough," score a lot, turn the ball over, don't run the clock out... force them into 3-and-longs, etc, the yards can mount up. Then you usually have a good 100 or so yards in the final 10 minutes as the losing team tries to mount the comeback.

I don't recall what happened in their game... against............ was it the Fins?

Anyway... yeah lots of passing yards happens a lot, especially if you have shitty field position. Vs the Lions, Brad Johnson had like 150 yards passing and 2 TDs.

The Phins had some, just coldn't do anything with them.

Like the big pass to McMichael who made it down field slipped, got up and just as his knee got off the ground before he had been touched Colvin came from behined and punched the ball out.

Hobbs looked a little better then starks.

I did like The Phins throwing to the left corner of the endzone where their WR's couldn't see in the sun.

If you see the highlights check out Samuels hit on Rickey Williams!

also, 2 more injuries, Koppen went off with help, holding his arm, and Wilson went off late with help, holding his hand.

I admit, the wilson one was a little strange, he got up slow, held his hand, and then went down on the field, the trainers came out and then walked him off.

What seemed strange to me, it was late in the game, it seemed to be a hand injury, and by him lieing down, it cost the Pats their last time out.

As much as I hate both, I would be a hypocrite if I said no.

Though, with the salary cap hell they're in, unless Owens signs for scraps, I don't see it happening. And if they DO sign him, then so be it... with Driver, Franks, Green, Walker and Fergusen coming back next year, Chatman and whatnot... 1) They don't need him, the one thing they have is a good QB/WR combo, 2) He'd get pissed that Favre likes to spread it around, and if he didn't, everone else would get pissed. Then he'd NEVER throw it to Owens... because he's a big tough guy... but then Owens would cause a huge scene and try to fight KGB.

Bean, I hear ya points.

As for the cap, I don't think at this point in the season the cap would change, also doesn't he have another year? so the salary bonus would accelerate and hit right away, which could put them over.

He caused this, not the Eagles, I keep hearing how the Eagles treat their players like crap... what exactly have they done to TO?

If TO, didn't trash his team mates and the organization, none of this would be happening. Plain and simple, TO did this to TO and now he has to live with it.

There's talk that Jerry Jones may try and "force" TO on Parcells.

The Eagles spent money, traded (picks? players? I don't remember what the deal was) and expected him in return to conduct himself aproriately. Honestly, the Vikes probably could learn a thing or two from the Eagles.

Also, keep in mind, we're talking about 5games. the 4 games is a suspension for conduct detrimental to the team, the team has that right, it's in the PA Agreement and it's in every contract.

Salary bonus? We talking roster or signing? Roster bonus goes up-front, and salary might accelerate, but it would only be for one year; they could deal with that. You gotta take in sooner or later, tbh. You signed him, you have to pay him.

And nobody in the NFL besides Eagles fans ever thought Owens would behave. They knew that all it would take is one -- ONE single incident to make Owens implode. You want to say that Owens should know better? How about an entire organization of educated professionals, whose job it is to know whom to sign and whom to let go? I am willing to put this on the Eagles solely for that reason. Owens is paid to produce, which he does. That production comes with a price, as they knew. And now people are acting like this was out of left field. That's BS.

They traded, like, Brandon Whiting for him. LOL Brandon Whiting. Come on. For Owens.

Owens should be suspended. And that's it. That's the extent of what they can do to him, AS STATED ON THE CBA, 4 games is the Max. Owens is fighting it. I just read that Keyshawn had no problems being deactivated, otherwise he'd have fought it. So Owens is going to get on the field or released this year. Because what is happening is against the CBA. I repeat, 4 games is the max. And that is for a reason. He cannot be deactivated for any legitimate reason. They need to take action. They cannot lie about it.

And as per the Vikings, the Vikings shipped out who they considered to be a bad seed. They thought his behavior was too extreme and was hurting the team -- but that's absolute bullshit. Everyone said that Owens' behavior was never bad enough to hurt his team, but it has turned out that the Eagles TRADED FOR the biggest headache the NFL has seen in years. The Vikings should learn from this? Bullshit. The Vikings should just learn from Parcells and Belicheck. You just get rid of them. You don't try to babysit them. If you try to bottle up something like this, it will explode in your face. You cut it loose. You cut ties, you move on.

And you do not cut loose all players you deem to be problems. That's what the SAINTS did. Now we see how that's panning out for them.

Salary bonus? We talking roster or signing? Roster bonus goes up-front, and salary might accelerate, but it would only be for one year; they could deal with that. You gotta take in sooner or later, tbh. You signed him, you have to pay him.

Refering to the Signing Bonus. If you sign a 3yr deal with a 6mil Bonus (upfront money) it's applied to the cap over 3yrs (2mil/yr) if you cut the player say after year #1, then you take a 4mil hit year #2, instead of 2mil/2mil.

That production comes with a price, as they knew. And now people are acting like this was out of left field. That's BS.

No one thought he would be this bad. He did his on field stuff, and took some shots at Garcia and wanted out of SF becuase they weren't building a win now team, they were getting ready to rebuild.

That being said, doesn't excuse his behavior.

They traded, like, Brandon Whiting for him. LOL Brandon Whiting. Come on. For Owens.

Just looked it up, Whiting and a 5th round pick. The original deal with the Ravens was for a 2nd round pick.

You're missing something here, he was on SUSPENDED for 4 games, he's being DE-ACTIVATED for the rest of the season, he still gets paid. I've yet to hear anyone prove how this violates the CBA, keep in mind the NFLPA has the worst CBA in pro sports (ok, hockey might now be close).

So bean, what if they put him on the roster and bench him. All game, he sits on the bench? would you consider that the same thing?

It's a beautiful thing.

No one thought he would be this bad. He did his on field stuff, and took some shots at Garcia and wanted out of SF becuase they weren't building a win now team, they were getting ready to rebuild.

That being said, doesn't excuse his behavior.

Oh, many people thought he would be this bad... and many people KNEW he would be this bad... anyone who didn't see this coming, had their heads up their asses, to be honest.

Though also, to be fair, Owens said something... nothing was done about it, so he got worse. Like a child who wants attention. And there were many different ways the Eagles could have handled this. They chose to ignore him. He kept getting worse and worse, and what'd they do? Sent him home from training camp? Come on. His behavior is fully excuseable, because he's a pain in the ass and everyone saw it coming. Was it right? No. But it's definitely excuseable.

Just looked it up, Whiting and a 5th round pick. The original deal with the Ravens was for a 2nd round pick.
And what did the Eagles get for AJ Feeley? I don't think they have the right to whine about losing a draft pick and a third-stringer.

Question: CBA allows how many games suspended without pay? 4? Okay. So... how many games is he allowed with pay to be benched? If they're legally allowed to deactivate him indefinitely... what's to stop them from deactivating him for the duration of his contract? If there are no rules forbidding it, then by all means, they can do it for the next... three years?

He can sit on the bench for the next three years, because he's a pain in the ass. Hmm.... well by all means, let's take even more power away from the players.

Should be a game of the year candidate for sure. It'll prolly come down to which team's ballhawks make the bigger play on D. I am creaming myself already for this game.

I know he was referencing that. I'm saying this Colts team is leaps and bounds better then that Cheifs team. Its stupid even referencing it. I like Chad Johnson alot. This isnt the team to be predicting any victories against. I think you know that. Indy will run the ball all day on the run defense. Edge will rack up around 150 yards and 2 td's. I think Indy wins 31-21.

Anyone see that hit Reggie Wayne took against the Texans? My man got up and caught 8 more balls against those bitches. Reggie Wayne if for real. I said it last year. I'll say it this year. I'll keep saying it. He's got Chad Johnson ability. Just not as good as Chad at this point.

Dont worry. Indy still has to go to New England again next year so you'll have a shot at redemption. Hopefully you are healthy so there wont be any excuses.

And when i say excuses i mean excuses. They are pretty legit excuses. Sucks you guys couldnt be healthy when we layed that ass whoopin.

Still if Indy beats the Bengals and the Steelers back to back. It wont matter what they did against the Pats.

I guess what i'm trying to say while smoking on this spliff is...

The Colts didnt prove much by beating a beatin team ( Patriots ), but they will prove more by beating the Bengals and Steelers, then they would have proven against a healthy Patriots team.

I'm telling you right now we are gunna crush the Bengals. I'm not trying to pump my chest. I seriously think its gunna be brutal. I think Indy is gunna run the ball non stop until the Bengals bring a couple of linebackers up to stop the run. Then they will be hit up top repeatedly. Bengals are already horrible at stopping the run so i guarantee they wont drop 8 back and if they do. Its gunna ball controll clock controll all night long.

Indy has the 4th ranked defense and the 2nd ranked offense. I look for the Colts to keep the ball close to 40 minutes in this game. With the Colts defense playing fresh every time they come on the field. They might give up a big play TD. Then might give up a drive, but they wont give up much and they will be off the field for 35-40 minutes of the game. The Bengals cant let the Colts run the ball smash mouth and put up 7-10 minute drives with points. They would be letting the fastest and hardest hitting defense in the league sit on the side line and gather steam.

The best chance the Bengals have of winning this game is to win it in a shootout. One of those " Hope they have the ball last " games. I dont think the Colts defense will let that happen tho. Ranked 4th after 9 games means something. Its not just a fluke.

I see Indianapolis winning this game 31 -10.

Maybe it's the drug that's killing your brain cells.

But let me get this straight, beating the the Steelers and Bengals would prove more then beating a healthy Pats team?

You gotta explain that one to me.

Take away all the Pats injuries, Bruschi, Seymore, Dillon, Harrison, basiclly you face the full superbowl roster... and that would mean less then the Bengals and Steelers?

Actually the 2 that left (that I can think of off hand) Law & Andruzzi both had 3 rings. Law wanted too much money and wasn't healthy, Andruzzi I would have liked to see stay, after he signed with Cleveland his brother ripped the Patriots in the paper becuase they "didn't make an effort to re-sign him".

I just don't see why any team scouting them wouldn't just pass all day. The Secondary is horrible, the LB's aren't fast enough to cover, and because they keep dropping people back and seymore being out they haven't been able to get to the QB.

The offense even with the injuries has looked pretty good, but you can't win in the NFL without Defense (look at the Pats first superbowl).

But yeah, lol, players leaving in free agency... that's nuts... they figured "2 rings is good enough for me. CYA."If you were to compare last season to this season then Troy Brown would be on the IR right now tho lol

Troy really wasn't THAT far down the depth chart last year, they just had no depth at CB to begin with. They actually kinda had depth at corner going into this season but losing a safey forced a corner to move to safety. Then the corner that moved to safety was put on IR. The injury bug is much worse then last year, plus the 2 leaders of the defense have barely been there. Harrison is done for the year and I highly doubt Bruschi will be able to make the plays he made last year.

Still tho, injuries happen and it is part of the game. I would say Indy deserved the Superbowl if they could have actually beat a healthy Patriots team but they just got lucky this year. I still don't think they will win it all though.

I don't see how beating the Steelers means more then beating the PAST Patriots teams though? Especially since the Patriots beat the Steelers this year with Chad "I am offically the worst player in the NFL with Duane Starks on the IR" Brown starting at middle linebacker.

Beating the Bengals and Steelers back to back is a much bigger accomplishment. Its pretty simple.

11-19-2005, 03:55 AM
And if we are gunna use injuries as an excuse. Fine by me. Last year our secondary was decimated with injuries. Strickland, Doss, Sanders and Harper were all injured repeatedly. The only reason Jason David is starting this year is because he had to come in last year as a late round pick starting at corner.

When Edge went down with his knee injury. Hell thats 2 years of excuses right there.

Injuries wasnt a factor when you guys were beating the Colts left and right , but all of a sudden you lose and now all we hear about is your injuries. Whatever.

Wasnt hearing anything about injuries when Tom Brady was getting GOAT recognition earlier this year. Oh but now you lose a few games and lose to your biggest rival and now we cry about injuries.

Fuck that. Injuries happen. I wasnt crying when Edge tore his knee up and played a whole season at about 60%. Stop crying about injuries. Its weak.

I hope your healthy in the playoffs ( If you make the playoffs ) So we can put another firm ass whippin on you.

Oh btw . What did Injuries have anything to do with Tom Brady and that number 7 ranked offense not being able to keep your team in the game. Was it because out defense is alot better /gasp. We were the better team reguardless of whether or not Harrison was on the field or not. So please move on. Stop crying about injuries. I dont see Jets fans crying about Pennington being gone. I dont see the Eagles fans on the board crying about how shitty they're season has gone with losing there top reciever and there QB. So please just stfu about your injuries.

Listen . There is no doubt that the Patriots were battered before they played us, but VEL is attacking me for saying that the Bengals and Steelers games would be bigger wins. I think the question will be . Will 85 make it out alive? :p

Bob Sanders. Remember that name. He'll put a hit on #85 before this game is over. I still think Johnson will make it to the endzone tho.

And as long as we are pointing out things. The Bengals have only beatin one team with a winning record. It was the Bears.

Yeah but when you put into perspective putting 30 something points up IN Chicago that's a pretty big result, considering their defence is like what, #2 overall? Maybe #1 now.

Number 1, but consider the offense also.

RP - take a chill pill, I'm not attacking you.

You said, beating the Steelers and bengals would mean more then if the Pats had been 100% healthy and you beat them, I asked you to clarify and you took a mini-hissy fit. Not as good as the other one you had but still amusing.

So, plain and simple, you made a statement that made no sense, I asked you to explain it and you took a mini-fit, I then asked again and you ignored, I asked a 3rd time and you kinda of explained what you meant

Listen . There is no doubt that the Patriots were battered before they played us, but VEL is attacking me for saying that the Bengals and Steelers games would be bigger wins. Which they would be considering how much better those teams are. I never said the Pats weren’t beat up. Never once did I say that. It would have been a much better game and alot closer, but this Colts team is a much better team then the past teams. A more complete team.

The only part that confuses me is your originally statement was a "healthy patriots team" yet in this you say the Steelers and Bengals are "much better" then the pats but then mention the pats are "beat up".

So, maybe I don't understand, are you saying that the CURRENT Bengels and Steelers (who the Pats beat, in Pittsburg) are MUCH BETTER teams then last years superbowl champs minus Joe Andruzzi & Ted Johnson? Cause weather you realize it or not, that is what you said, I'm asking for clarification because while we disagree on a lot of things, this just seems way to far out there.

If that is exactly what you meant I'm asking why, what about those two teams, currently makes them MUCH BETTER then last years superbowl champion minus Andruzzi & Johnson.

Also, the funny thing is, you mentioned the Pats injuries affecting this year’s game long before I did; I've said all along injuries are part of the game.

I never used them as an excuse before or after the game, you’re the one who brought up the Pats injuries (by the way, they wont be “healthy” for the playoffs, although Dillon may heel and Light could be back, Koppen, Harrison, Chad Scott, Gus Scott, Poole, Starks, Gay are all done for the year, IR can’t return. 2 safety’s 4 cb, 1 OL (center). Faulk & Light were recently upgraded from “out” to doubtful so I expect to see them back by seasons end (although the way they talked about Faulk, I wouldn’t be surprised if he hits the IR soon) .

Losing one or two, even key players is part of the game, happens to every team, but this year is clearly different, the number of injuries and the depth of injuries is much worse then anything the Pats or Colts delt with the last few years. It’s not simply that Dillon is out, but so is his backup Faulk, so is the FB Pass, the 2 guys running the ball last week didn’t have jobs!

As for the Offense, I went through this with someone else, the offense did fine, it's the defense that got destroyed, and the stats show that clearly.

As for crying about injuries, I love how you make this stuff up, and as for the "you don't see Jets fans" you're right, neither team is "Crying" but ask a single Jets fan if they would have a better shot with Chad instead of Without and you no the answer.

K I just looked it up and it was actually 24-7, but still. Bengals only had 31 minutes possession, so it's not like the Chicago D would've gotten tired. Ok so Orton threw 5 picks that day so starting position was a factor, but you still have to remember that Chicago have a pretty awesome red zone defence, let alone #1 overall, so it's still a pretty big thing.

Bengals and Steelers game combined are more impressive victories in the big picture because of the caliber of both teams and the fact that we have them back to back. Then we have the Jags. I'm not saying they are better teams then a " Healthy " patriots team. We were coming off a bye, and the week before that we had a layup game and the week after that we had another layup. So yah beating a Superbowl champion is impressive, but it would mean alot more to outsiders such as media, espn ect. To beat the Bengals and then beat the Steelers back to back. Because of how good those teams are this year. No doubt if the Patriots were healthy they would be the best out of all three, but even if they were healthy. We had to win that game reguardless. It was a mental thing. It didnt matter if they were healthy or not. We needed to win that game. It meant alot if we won, but i think beating the Bengals and Steelers back to back would prove alot more about the Indianapolis Colts. Teams step up and win rivalry games all the time. It was eventually gunna happen, but when you play a couple of the best teams in the NFL back to back that you havent played in a couple of years, and beat them back to back. It proves alot more imo. Especially with this brutal schedule the Colts have. Thats what i'm saying.

Now, was that so hard?

I do disagree with you, but at least I understand now what you meant and evan though I don't share the opinion, is does make sense.

You gotta be less paranoid. :shifty:

Well, actually unless you went back and edited you did flip out, you even carried it over to another thread, even said I was attacking you... Where all I asked you for was to explain why you felt that way, and it took a while and you finally did.

So yeah, you act a little paranoid here. Everyone likes their home team, and most people disagree on stuff, but you tend to take it personal. Like, if someone says Manning isn't the best QB of all time, you seem (the way you respond) to feel it's like someone's calling your mother names or something.

That's all, chill a little more and it will be more fun for you.

So, apperently they moved the Colts v. Bengals to 4pm.

Everyone around here assumed when that happen they would carry the game. Apperently at 4pm, we get the Broncos v. Jets game.

Another reason I love my dish! :)

I would agree RP you are pretty zealous in your teams defense sometimes. That can be annoying sometimes but when your team is 9-0 you have bragging rights. More power to you though.

No question about that... (looks at last years baseball and last 2 years football threads and sees Vel's posts). :)

Cincy lost to Jacksonville and Pittsburg. Indy beat Jacksonville and beat New England who beat Pittsburg...

So, by that I'd have to go Cincy today.

Looks like the weather will be decent so that wont slow Indy down.

Should be a good game, just don't think Cincy is at Indy's level.

Heck, don't think anyone is at Indy's level this year.
