View Full Version : I may be done with wrestling for a while...

Friday Night Smackdown did not replay at the listed time, and I heard UPN's (This affiliate) running sox games on Friday nights for a while. To top that off, Raw was so lackluster that I not only can't see myself buying the PPV, but I can't see myself watching another Raw anytime soon. Velocity and Heat are on til the switch to USA, but That's kinda limited. TNA is coming on Spike, so I'll watch taht when the switch happens, but there's not much worth a fuck on the TV right now. Even worse, I actually WANT to watch Smackdown. There's been enough good on that I'd like to continue watching.

So barring downloads, I don't see much wrestling in my future for a while.

I totally agree about Raw. Right now i'm on a Raw tear. I wanna rip into the show everytime someone posts about it because its so horrible.

That sucks because Smackdown is the best show right now by far.

You probably wont miss much, and figure in a few weeks, you wont have watched and you'll know HHH is champ without having actually having to witness the visual crime that is

Hmm...KK...do you have another UPN affiliate that your cable system picks up. Or would they consider replaying SmackDown on a Saturday like Cleveland's UPN station does? I would imagine that they would do something like that, athough you did say that FNS didn't rreplay at the time listed (wtf with the false advertising?).

Though, yeah, RAW sucks ass right now.

Well, I probably WILL miss some good Smackdown Matches. Unless UPN isn't airing baseball or actually replays (My guide says Saturday at 8). I mean, there are invariably gonna be shit matches (Anything involving LOD or MNM), but I've got to say, I've enjoyed a lot of it.

And Raw? Well, It'll be on, but I don't think Shelton and Michaels and company can save my interest right now. Maybe a few weeks without'll help.

I think Eddie vs. Batista is gonna be good. That alone makes me wanna catch the show.

I'm in Vermont. UPN38 is the only affiliate on my cable. And while they're saying Saturday, I don't know what my odds are, if I got an ep of CSI when I went to record FNS last Sunday.

They're not even making an effort, sadly. I'd consider it ironic justice, except the WWE doesn't suffer so much as the fans do.

Eddie vs anyone=Gold.

Eddie is one of the few people who could make Masters watchable.

Right, when I had cable I got UPN9 (NY) and UPN15 (Philly) but when I switched to DirecTv I only got to keep NY stations, which sux because I always get stuff played on 9 over SD! and SD isnormally available on 15. But I no longer have 15 available. :(

I know how you feel. Last Monday was the first time in a long time that I missed some of Raw. I was finishing up studying organic at around 10...so after that I went downstairs to put on Spike (in no hurry), and I found Masters vs Flair in what could've been one of the slowest shittiest matches of all time. I just flipped to Raw here and there after that and watched MNF instead.

However, I can't wait for the TNA debut on Spike. Not that I'm a huge TNA fan or anything, but I guess all the hype makes me at least want to watch the premiere show.

I still long for the days of the Monday Night wars where wrestling was just so exciting. It was like, I entered this fun fantasy land when I'd watch it. All the shit around the world didn't matter the second 8 pm hit on Monday Nights...for the next 3 hours I knew that I'd have a great time watching entertaining TV that wouldn't be found anywhere else. No point in looking at the past though, mind as well focus on the future and hope TNA gets its act together.

well seeing some replies in this thread is exactly how I feel right now. This past Raw (which I saw in full on Tuesday) made me more excited for TNA's debut. I'd gladly watch TNA then watch whatever that was Monday Night. I switched it off at like 9:10 and changed back a few times just to see what was going on.

But it got me thinking maybe there just putting trash on right now because they are just waiting for the switch to USA. They're just putting this filler stuff on right now just so they have a program to show. That's how I feel they are thinking right now.

No, I actuallt won't watch a product I don't like. You piss and moan, then watch it (Or if you don't, you put forward a piss poor case, since you not onlydefended those who did, but defended your own watching habits).

Sorry, we're not in the same ballpark. I want to watch what I believe is an overall good product, and will stop watching a bad product instead of tuning in hoping and praying to see one or two good matches. You gave an analogy that involved IIRC, Eddie and Rey being the only reason you watched Smackdown, which I think is retarded. Hence I said that I WOULD NOT watch Raw, even though I could watch it for Michaels and Shelton.

I'm saddened that you don't even see the difference

I think that's what they're thinking, and I think it's a bad idea. It certainly won't get me watching a night of champions.

I had a long response which I just lost when my browser spazzed out, but basically Raw doesn't feel like Raw. Raw feels like a 2 hr Heat, and the PPV feels like Raw for cash. The card's a joke, and the only matches I'd really pay to see are Edge/Hardy and Cena/Angle. Except we've seen them on Raw already.

That's where you've got me completely wrong, but you are too stubborn to change your mind about me, so you will continue to think that. I watch it, then either praise or criticise it as I've said many times before. There are bound to be parts i like/dislike, because there are different storylines involved all at one time. What I complain about is the writing, i still get entertained by it sometimes, and yes sometimes i watch it when nothing else is on so i can atleast form an opinion on it.

I havent watched wrestling in the past couple of weeks, i didn't watch smackdown last friday like i said I wouldn't, because i wasn't missing anything.I don't just watch smackdown for eddie/rey, if that were the case then i would've watched the cage match, but that wasn't enough to turn over in the end, even though I said I would've watched it, but the only reason I said that was because i had read the reuslts and they didn't seem to good, its not that fun either after you've read the reuslts.(i'll try and keep away from them in future, but its hard not to be curious)

I think you have a complete misunderstanding of my attitude towards WWE, i only complain because the standard of writing has been so poor, and storylines keep being forgot about and not well thought through,
i may want to see people like kurt angle more than others, but overall I want to be able to watch the whole show.Wrestlers like Kurt are just worth mentioning more than others.

That is exactly the reply I expected from you, because it shows exactly what I said in my message, you're obviously too stubborn to change you're opinion about me, it's funny though that you think you know me so well. The internet can be decieving, you know.

I'll admit however that I do moan about things i don't like about the company, probably more so than others do and that's probably why you have such a strong opinion about me.I don't know. But it's not like I just watched it for the sake of it all the time, when I first got into watching WWE, I was really into it, and to see the writing fall so much from what it was a few years ago aswell as the quality of matches, that's what saddens me. There are things I like about WWE, but usually the things we hate about the WWE get more discussion.

My interest is also dying, and this is bad news for you too, loyal TPWWer.

Because Chavo doesnt watch wrestling as much anymore, he doesnt have much to post about. And when this happens, Chavo doesn't visit TPWW as much. I haven't been online for 7 days and the Chavo World Order has already died and been buried (or cremated, I've always wanted to be cremated). You guys need me.

No, it shows you're trying to put forth two truths:

1. What you say/how you act

2. What you say you mean when you say these things.

You have tried to "explain" this before, and then then you go back to the same actions as before. IT's like an alcoholic saying he's all better between drinks. If you want to change my mind, you'll have to do more than lip service. Try changing your actions before you start crying "stubborn" at me.
