Wow, Snake hasn't aged well. I personally am not happy with the new old Solid Snake, Snake is only badass when he's middle aged, It's really the moustache that I do not like.

Otacon looks awesome though.

Snake looks alright... but looks... out of place.

Otacon looks great as you said :y:

I'm not 100% positive, but I think that that's Big Boss and not Solid Snake. The eye thing and the fact that he's old is what brings me to that conclusion. It could be an artificial eye or something. (The thing may be on the wrong eye, though.) I also notice that he has a knife in his hand while holding his gun, which is used for CQC...

Although I could be wrong and it could be a whiny old Solid Snake, which I guess is what Big Boss would look like around the time of Metal Gear Solid 1 or 2.

Yeah, I think he would look a lot better without the moustache

Well, if you remember back to MGS2, you could get a shaver. Maybe that's an option for this game as well.

But yeah, if that is Solid Snake, DAAAAAAAAAMN. :(

Desert setting. Hmmm….

Looks nice. Not fussed on the ‘tache.

Thought Kojima had handed the MGS franchise over to somebody else?

I think he has, but he's still supervising or advising if I remember rightly.

I think its a fake. Snake looks too retarded to be taken seriously there.

That was my first thought too. Also, I was reading PSM awhile back, and they made a GREAT point.

In Metal Gear Solid, Foxhound's major demand is the remains of Big Boss. Yet the governement doesn't hand them over. Hmm, the remains of a dead person in turn for preventing a nuclear attack?

Simple solution, maybe Big Boss never died.

I also remember in either EGM or Game Informer that there were promotional drawings for MGS4 in the usual MGS style. There were two that stand out in this situation. One which looks like middle aged snake and one which looks like a naked old man with an eye patch, who is more than likely Big Boss.

Big Boss will probably play a part in the game, if not playable, then at Solid Snake's side (if the one in those screens isn't Solid Snake).

personally i don't think that is solid snake because since when has he only has 1 eye?
it could be bigboss in a mirror image or sumin?
and in that picture xero limit posted snake doesn't have the patch....

I just noticed that in that picture the one who looks like Snake has a full beard and the one who looks like Big Boss only has a mustache, as in the screens.

Edit: Just thought of something. It does make sense that this is Big Boss, because Snake has never used CQC before. If they introduce Big Boss into the modern day Metal Gear Solid, he can teach Solid Snake CQC and have it implemented for the rest of the series.

Holy crap you guys. It's big boss.

Look at Snake. Then look at Otacon. Unless Otacon took some magical youth formula, the other guy has to be BB, cause Otacon hasn't aged much at all.

He's co-directing with someone who, for the life of me, I can't recall. If it helps, he pretty much directed the entire bike chase sequence at the end of Snake Eater.

As for the pics, IF, and only if this is Solid, I'll have to get used to it. It could be Big Boss, though, that's a distinct possibility. Otacon looks fucking great, though.

He did but he was overlooking the project, decided that they were fucking up his franchise and took back over.

Or unless one looks older because he's been in combat situations while the other's done less to put himself in direct danger...

Anyhow, people are overthinking this. But that's half the fun.

I hated the camera. For a jungle setting like that, the camera made things awkward. I hope they fix that issue.

I just didn't like the jungle setting at all.I prefer the MGS 1 and 2 style settings.

I was willing to give it a chance. Of course, when you have so many methods of gaining access to an area, a camera angle that HELPS would be nice.

09-26-2005, 03:22 AM
yeah. Man those cut scenes are looooong.

Ninti the Mad

The cut scenes were the only good things about MGS3 to be honest.

Drakul
09-26-2005, 03:42 AM
Usually I enjoy taking a 15 minute long break to watch cut scenes but I just didn't enjoy MGS3s cut scenes either other than pressing certain buttons to make the camera zoom in and out,you could change the cameras view point in them and you can sometimes move the camera around in them.

I thought and still think that MGS3 is the best game of the serie. The story was even better than the in the first one.
