I need some new jams. Is there any new pop-punk bands or whatever that I have no idea who they are? I don't care if it's mainstream or indy or anything, anything that sounds similar to Blink/Starting Line/NFG, you know, all that whiney stuff. Nothing that's all like "rarrrrrr I scream and sing about my heart being engulfed by misery" type whining, more just like "woooo I am a teenager and I like girls but they don't like me" type whining. Hook it up. Actually I'll probably just pop in TOYPAJ. Fuck. Mitch hook it up

Moneen

DUNNO though. I haven't really followed any new up and coming bands lately. Someone hook me up too.

I've got a local band (well they are done now) but they are honestly one of my favorite bands of all time. I think they are your style, but when I made a thread about them it got no responses. If you want me to send you their album I can, they aren't on kazaa or anything like that though.
They are called The Commonplace. There is another band with a guy who used to be in my high school named Somerset though, and they are actually supposed to be getting national recognition. I've never heard them, but has anybody else heard of them? From what I've heard they are the same type of music, kind of like the pop-punk but not shit like Simple Plan stuff.
My screen name is cbasssssssssssss (13 s's) if you want me to send it

Check out cdbaby.com. You can browse by genre, or even by who bands sound like. The include the übertrendy styles of music, though the artist names might not be familliar. With two minute samples on multiple songs per album, it's easy to find what you want.

Pop punk/indie-jive feel-good goodness:
Piebald (Download "American Hearts", "The Benefits of Ice Cream" and "Human Taste Test" and tell me you don't love it </>)
Cartel
Say Anything
Motion City Soundtrack
Count the Stars (pure pop punk beauty)
Last Days of April (indie feel-good times)
Minus the Bear (melody driven jivey synth rock... fucking excellent)
Pinback (indie jive excellence)
Q and not U (Download "A Line in the Sand" - funkiest breakdown/clap-along ever)
Bats and Mice (soothing goodness)
Autopilot Off (older band but still pop punk goodness. Fonzy got me onto them back in like 2002)
Atom and His Package (one-man keyboard jive, ala Reggie and the Full Effect)
Architecture in Helsinki (crazy, almost child-like Australian indie stuff... think xylophones and singalongs)
Sick of Change (Rufio-esque Christian pop-punk, but don't let that phase you... another Fonzy band)
Snow Patrol (Death Cab-esque indie rock)
The Cat Empire (Australian-Greek-Cuban-ska/swing/genre defying singalong goodness)
The Kinison
Tsunami Bomb (female-fronted punk)
TurboNegro (Svedish joke rock... they make songs just to be offensive and claim ignorance because they are from Sveden :'( but they rock)
Kisschasy (Australian melodic punk... just making a dent on the national scene, actually... I saw them back in 2003 </>)
In The Grey (Australian melodic punk)
After the Fall (Australian melodic punk)
Any or all of the above.

OH, and Eskimo Joe. You would like them. They are Australian too, but I think you would enjoy their music. Download "Wake Up" and "Who Sold Her Out".
And Gyroscope, for some more Australian punk.
