From PWInsider
On how close he was to signing with TNA:
He was all ready to sign with TNA for a one year contract and called Vince McMahon up and left a message informing Vince of his desire to sign with TNA. After going outside for about an hour and playing with his kid, he came back to about four messages left on his machine from Vince. They had a good conversation and Mick stated that Vince is “extremely persuasive, so much so that he said if you were to look up the word “persuasive” in the dictionary, there’d be a picture of the conversation Vince had with Mick. Mick stated that he truly believed that Vince was at his best when there was competition, and the he believed that there should be another option. But apparently, Vince convinced him that he might regret the decision to move to TNA. Mick also said that the WWE would do “a lot of things” for him and that they didn’t necessarily offer him more money, but the WWE made it so that he decided not to sign with TNA.

Does anyone else get the feeling that while Mick went inside to check his messages, a mysterious van pulled up and kidnapped his kids or something?

Truth be told is this is what I pictured
Mick: Oh Hey Vince, I'm going to sign TNA
Vince: Don't do that
Mick: Why not? Do you have a better offer
Vince: No Mick, but if you do sign with them... I'm going to kill your children
Mick: Haha, your such a kidder
Vince: Mick, I'm serious, I will kill your children. Look outside
*Foley looks outside and sees Triple H holding a gun to one of Mick's kids*
Mick: Yes sir, I won't go :(
Vince: I know.

I'm intrigued somewhat by this...
"Mick also said that the WWE would do “a lot of things” for him and that they didn’t necessarily offer him more money, but the WWE made it so that he decided not to sign with TNA."

Mick: "I want to go to TNA."
Vince: "That's great, but just remember that we own the copyrights of every single character you've ever gone by, so if you go to TNA, you will be legally barred from using "Mankind," "Cactus Jack," "Dude Love," or "Mick Foley," or any similar name resulting from modified spellings or related references.
Mick: "But... but... my legal name is Mick Foley!"
Vince: "Nope, WE own that name now. Muahahahahahahahahaa!!! So you gonna go to TNA?"
Mick: "Nah, I'll stay. Wouldn't want my wife to get sued when she calls out my name in bed." :naughty:

I'm assuming, for starters, it's easier to plug his book on the media circuit since he's still associated with WWE.

Mick: Vince, nooooooo
Vince: What was it Mick" Mmmmmm, Beefy" SAY IT FOR ME BITCH!
Mick: Yes Master......
Linda: Vince, what have I told you about engaging in S&M with the employees.
Vince: Tell you first....
Linda: That's right bitch.

According the Powerslam magazine (the only wrestling publication Lance Storm reads)...
Mick Foley was spotted on a flight from NYC to Burbank, California by a PS associate in early August. Asked about the prupose of his trip, Foley explained that he had meetings scheduled with TV and moive folks. Although we do not know the outcome of said meetings, we do know that millionaire Mick was not dressed to impressed. On the flight; he was wearing pants which were held up a piece of rope. It seems Foley is too stingy to buy a belt
Foley's been a busy boy (perhaps too busy even to pop down to GAP)

Pure evil.
He probably had one of his snipers shoot one of his kids in the leg, to prove he meant business.

And pimping out his books.
yea, that's exactly one of the reasons he said. Just better deals like that. He also mentioned he would like to do a deal where he would help Taker against the Ortons for one match or something.
This story first broke a couple weeks ago on the BTR radio show. The guys interviewing him were real surprised as nobody knew until he mentioned it. It's still up on the site if you care to DL it.

I think that realistically, Foley wouldn't wrestle on Smackdown. I think Foley and Carlito would be a good feud.
