My Chemical Romance. Hands down.

Seen them like 3 times live. Absolutely horrific.

They're not that bad... instrumentals and stuff are good, but the backup singing is horrible and the lead singer could use a lot of work.

Good Charlotte is pretty terrible...
Senses Fail is shit, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO shit. Lost all respect when I saw them.
Hawthorne Heights aren't great, the screaming is pretty brutal, they have off and on nights I think.

I absolutely love Senses Fail so I have a hard time believing they are THAT BAD live. They didn't seem awful on the dvd.

Hawthorne Heights (from watching the DVD) is TERRIBLE live. Even their lead singer kinda sucks live. But the screamer.....

And I'd only just lost the urge to stab you in the face.

As for me, probably god awful British band Sugarcoma. Who have hopefully now split up.

Download Senses Fail on Kimmel and Conan and you'll know what I mean. They have been really bad both times I've seen them.

Yeah I thought Hawthorne Heights were really bad on the DVD too, but they did a great show at Warped Tour this year. The screamer still sucked though.

LOL the violin guy from Yellowcard. Like it is cool/unique or whatever to have a violin guy in a pop-punk band, but I mean, he thinks he is ROCKING OUT, which is absolutely ridiculous.

Snoop Dogg was pretty horrible. He opened for 2 rock bands. The whole time he was on stage involved drinking and weed. And bitches.

NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT.

QOTSA tore shit up when I saw em at 'Looza.

Alter Bridge was pretty good when I saw em too.

That all girl band was pretty shittacular. The Donnas or whatever. Horrible. I wanted to shoot myself.

The Donnas were on an episode of Room Raiders. I'm sure the ratings went through the roof.

Maybe it was just bad timing for Alter Bridge, I couldn't really be bothered to watch them since I'd just come out of the pit and was busy re-aquanting myself with oxygen instead of dust (seeing as the brain surgeons at Clearchannel decided not to put mats down in front of the stage.)

mudvayne started threating the state of Indiana on stage, because everyone was booing there shitty performance.

Later that night on the main stage Story of the Year opened the stage and was pretty good. They yelled for everyone in the grass area to come up to the pavilion and go nuts. So basically 7000 people hopped into the pavilion and went nuts. At the time i had dropped 5 hits and was all for burning the place down. So i thought it was great. Well apparently the headlining act wasnt to fond of this performance. According to the loca radio station and Godsmack themselves on stage , who actually said they " beat those punks ass " there was a fight between Godsmack crew and some members and the whole Story of the Year band. I guess Story of the year ggot there ass kicked backstage.

When Papa Roach first came out with Last Resort, they played on Conan and it was awful. The first 5 seconds, the drummer breaks a stick. A little later the guitarist plays a few wrong chords. :|

Blink182 when I saw them touring with Green Day. Green Day was awesome though.

Taking Back Sunday still holds the title as shittiest live band ever in my book.

I've heard that SOAD is god awful live.

The Mask
09-27-2005, 08:46 AM
yeah SOAD weren't great. they're a bit weird live. like you never think about it listening to CDs and stuff but when you get to a gig and want to jump around, their crazy time changes and all the weird shit stops you from doing that. plus serj didn't seem all that into it. Same goes for soulfly. Max Cavalera just didn't seem interested which gutted me a bit because soulfly were like my favourite band at the time, i've hardly been able to listen to them since.

Luckily for me I saw Mad Capsule Markets but on the most crazy energetic gig i've ever been to 2 days before, and it was utterly superb.

I'd also agree with the Coral and QOTSA for being shit, although they're shit anyway.

I've seen some terrible bands in my time, but I think the prize goes to Hungry And The Hunted, supporting King Prawn in 2003. They were unspeakably dull.

Northern State opened up for Cake and they were horrible. Don't even inquire about them.

The Thrills also sucked when they opened up for The Pixies.

I didn't much like Sparta before Pearl Jam either. But I dealt with it.

Lots of mad people. Yes thank god that Sugarcoma have split up.

My Chemical Romance were great when I saw them live, the second time I saw them some dick spilt a drink on the PA system so they played most of the set without a PA and still sounded great and tight.

Taking Back Sunday were great the first time I saw them, Adam was mental but mediocre next time I saw them.

To be fair, I have that Conan performance dl'd and I'm pretty sure it just sounded fucked up on the first verse because his mic was screwed up, notice how he walks back and looks offstage right before it gets louder. :-\

I forgot about Bloc Party. Both times I've seen them, their sound as been awful. Either it is technical problems, or their production is just fucking shit. The vocals are always completely lost (the guy's voice isn't particularly strong to begin with) and the lead guitar is too low. The bass and drums over-power everything, and it sounds fucking rubbish.

I saw SOAD live, and they were the complete opposite of what you said. Their music was awesome, everybody jumped around like crazy, and Serj was into it big time, jumping and dancing all over the stage. I guess it only means that live, every band can suck or rule, depending on their mood.

Worst band I've seen live: Bad Acid Trip. They were supporting SOAD, and they were so bad the singer tried to resort to shock value to get a reaction, raping a doll onstage and stuff like that. One lonely guy was in the middle of the pit, moshing alone. Pretty funny though.

Bands have off-days and on-days... Taking Back Sunday on their headline UK tour in January were awesome, as were the supporting My Chemical Romance, but then MCR were pretty dire at Download and TBS were dull and confusing supporting Green Day.

System Of A Down, Cave In and Audioslave ruled when I saw each of them (both times for Audioslave).

Word. Seen them twice now and they were boring both times. I would also like to put forward The Bravery. They were late on at T and then proceeded to be slightly bottled. Cue the singer go "Wow you guys are good bottle throwers". Stupidest thing to say ever. Like 100 bottles thrown during the next song and the singer takes shelter. 0 crowd reaction till "Honest Mistake". Then start "Unconditional" as the last song and get cut off after about 10 seconds. No one cared.

i'm not saying system were shit or anything, it just wasn't as crazy as i thought it'd be. When you think of system you don't tend to think of all the quiet balladish parts and weird time signatures.

And Serj did look like he couldn't be arsed at all when i saw them.

Ya System were pretty freakin awesome when I saw them too. Actually Daran seemed most into it (probably cause he knew he'd have like 70687508674 groupies around later) but he's kinda nuts anyway so it's hard to tell. If anything though their style was better for live I found cause some songs I wouldn't have thought were that good for it came across really well and the place went nuts.

So yeah :-\ Maybe it was the depressing Manchester air Southwood :'(

He's a bit of a pretentious egomaniac. He tried to peg "Shout" as being anti authority, and some shit about it being against the mainstream or something. I wonder if he remembers that this was a big fucking POP hit?
