Well let me start by saying, I'm rooting for Roy Jones JR. I've always been a fan of the guy and even though he's lost his last 2 fights. I still love the guy. Losing happens to the best of them when they get older and fight newer, more athletic talent.

One month ago i would have said Tarver no doubt. Jones is older, he hasnt fought in a while, but tonight as i think about it. I think Roy Jones is on a mission. The guy has obviously dissapeared and gotten him self in the best shape he can possibly be in. He's let Tarver do all the talking up until today. When he stepped up and basically said he was gunna kill Tarver , in more choice words. Ever since Tarver did the " no excuses routine" and knocked Jones out, he's been cocky as shit and even lost a match. Theres no doubt he is talented probably the top fighter in his division, but the talent and fame seems to have gone to his head. Now he talks trash when he can and cant stop talking about his knockout victory against Jones. I think the guy is in for a rude awakening. Today he said he was gunna beat Jones so bad that he's gunna throw in the towel for the sake of his family. Even went as far as saying he " brings the families together" . Kinda getting personal even mentioning family.

This could be Roy Jones Jr's last fight. He could go out with a huge bang. This fight is gunna be nuts. I can feel it. This is gunna be a major fight in the history of fights. I'm rooting hard for Jones.

I heard Jones Jr. already lost? Was somebody being an idiot or is that right?

I don't really follow boxing, but I'm interested to see the outcome of this one.

Can't see Tarver losing. RJJ is past his prime and, in my opinion, is one of the most overrated fighters of all time.

I dont think his talent is overated. I think his competition has been overrated. Probably not even overrated. Just plain shit.

No way Jones at one time was the best fighter in the world pound for pound. He had great quickness and knockout power

He was good. But good was about it. Steve Collins, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank and Joe Calzaghe were all knocking on his door and he never answered. All except Eubank would have gone to the States and RJJ three off the biggest pay days of his career to fight the other three (and the Calzaghe offer is still bigger than any purse he has fought for today). I'll give him his due for beating James Toney and Bernard Hopkins but they offered rematches and they never got them either. In my opinion, he looked great winning but he didn't fight the absolute best in his division (and nobody can argue Eubank, Benn, Collins and Calzaghe didn't rank at the divisions top of the list).

And his heavyweight title win was a total joke against a total joke champion in John Ruiz.

Tarver wins by UD. From what I hear Roy did very little after the 5th round except a splurge in the 12th:nono:

Yeah, he's getting on up there in age. Still a pretty good fighter though. What I'm looking forward to is coming up on October 8th.
