Havn't seen a thread about it.. a bit surprised.

This show is great. I've seen it from the start, and it's just amazing.

For those that don't know about it, it's a new show on HBO that starts off at about the time Gaius Julius Caesar takes over Rome. It's based upon the lives of two soldiers in Caesar's army, but of course it delves into other small stories too that all tie into the main story some how. It's on every Sunday night, with re-runs of the new episode several times during the week.

Loving this show and can't wait till Sunday.

No HBO either.

I did get a free DVD in the mail from HBO, it's the first episode of this series. Haven't seen it yet though.

Yeah, that's the only bad thing about it... our movie channels will likely be running out soon, so we won't have HBO any more. I'll just have to wait and either download them or buy the DVDs. Rome is seriously like movie quality stuff.. it's great.

It's on tonight. Last weeks episode, and the new one is on at 7PM and 8 PM CST.

Sex and the City is now on regular channels, so I can imagine a long time from now, Rome -might- be put onto the normal channels, except it will be highly edited and not as good. Lots of nudity/sex and violence.

HBO loves their titties

After seeing such shows as Rome, The Sopranos, and Carnivale, I can no longer watch drama shows on regular TV. They just seem so unintelligent in comparison.

They're replaying all of the episodes this week. 3 a night. Seeing them reminds me what a bitch Atia is. Can't wait till she gets her come-uppance.

Pretty big twist on last night's episode. Kinda sad really. :(

BTW, someone else has to be as interested in this show as I am.. it can't just be people who watch it every once in a while.

This show is the goods damn it.

I saw the title "Rome" and came assuming the thread was about the ESPN guy, Jim Rome. How wrong I was. :-\

Next week is the season finale, so I imagine after that people on torrents will have them all in like one big download. I know I'm gonna get em (and probably again after the actual DVD is released)

I love this show.

It's tripe.

Your reasoning behind this opinion?

The acting is mostly diabolical and the dialogue is fairly embarassing at times. Also, the dramatic English accents are extremely grating, especially when they're all supposedly playing Italians.

It looks good, though. Visually, I mean. The fights are alright too.

I'd have to disagree with the acting comment.. the acting is great I think. You just have to keep in mind that with some of the actors, they're playing actors. The rich folk for instance.. it was all a big act back then.

I personally wouldn't watch it if they all spoke italian and it was subtitled. I'd get annoyed with having to read instead of actually paying attention to what was going on.

Ciaran Hinds is alright as Caesar, but the rest of it is wooden as a forest full of wooden trees.

It's just a period drama with high production values.

Honestly, the sex and fighting doesn't even make up for the rest of it.

Catching up on this finally. It keeps getting better. I love all the political machinations and alliances.

A little less cock would be nice though.
