View Full Version : I think I might know where WWE is going with all of this wacky s**t that's going on.

Hello all, I just watched the Raw Homecoming today, I got a friend to record it for me. I thought the show as a whole was pretty good, not the best but above what raw HAS been lately. There was one thing, though, that actually pissed me off enough that I flipped my tv the bird lol. The Ladder Match. My god, could they have screwed that match up any more? Not only did Matt come off as a complete bitch, but he also got physically held back by Lita at the end. A woman he has at least 100 pounds on! He must've put Texas Pete in Johnny Ace's jock or something, 'cause the last time I've seen a wrestler get buried like this was the Undertaker at Survivor Series 2003. Sure, you can argue that Matt went over at SS, but that was 1 time. As opposed to Edge's 3 or 4 wins he has in the feud. Hardy was made to look REALLY LUCKY in that match too.
I really don't like seeing a talented wrestler like him treated like this. He's getting made to look like a complete tool by Edge, who I'm genuinely getting sick of seeing every week. I was at my girlfriend's monday before last, & I started talking along with him during his promo on the ladder. "Heh, Heh, Heh, You know what you are, Matt, YOU'RE A LOSER! I'M A WINNER!" She asked me how I did that, & I said, "Oh, that's what he says every week." WWE can give Edge all of the TV time & all of the opportunities they want, but the guy's just not going to do anything. He's gonna do his chuckle he bogart'ed from Val Venis & his Angry Face, Lita's gonna point in random directions & do the "L" thing on her forehead, & people aren't gonna care. It's the sad truth, folks.
Well, I guess I should get to the point of this topic. Let's take a look at wrestlers who've dropped off the radar recently:
Matt Hardy: Storyline wise, Loses his spot on Raw after being made to look like a total punk. In reality, unknown.
Chris Jericho: Storyline wise, is "fired" by Eric Bischoff. In reality, wanted some time off for other things.
Kane: Storyline wise, suffers a mental breakdown after being betrayed by Lita. In reality, shooting a movie(?)
Now, another thing I noticed on Raw were the seeds of one-upsmanship were starting to become visible. Vince & Eric were trying to outdo one another the whole broadcast, & tons of Smackdown wrestlers flooded the ring during the WWE Title match. The best I can figure, all of those guys up there ^ have legitimate reasons to hold a grudge against the Raw brand. If they're going with this where I think they are, they're going to jump ship to Smackdown, & we're going to have an all-new Inter-Brand "War" on our hands. Bischoff's Raw, with HHH, Cena, The Young Guys & an army of crappy divas, and Vince's Smackdown, with the above guys + Batista, Eddie & others. I only hope that WWE has the same ideas that I do, because I don't know if I (or a lot of other people) are going to be watching every monday if things keep going the way they are. I'm done ranting, I'm out.

Why would Vince care enough about SD to support them in a fued?

A marriage of convenience. Vince wants to mess up Bischoff, so he goes to the brand that opposes him.

I'd rather see him fire bischoff from Raw, then Bischoff goes to SD and him and Long fight for control of SD. Then he goes head to head with Vince.

Or not.

Meh, that would work, but Bischoff's already made it clear that he really doesn't like smackdown or its wrestlers. It would just make him seem like he's going back on his principles.

Random thoughts:
Sleazy turns Raw into another WCW and goes to war with SD!
Vince sides with Long and helps SD! turn the tide.
Will this lead to a rejoined roster or just another messy ass brand extention?

WAAA WAAA WAAAAAAAAA.
It was a good match with a great storyline and psychology which made it very intense to watch. The finish was a bit anticlimatic, as it didn't involve Hardy perhaps falling through half a dozen tables (yawn, done before) but it was certainly dramatic. I could imagine that one of the new 'Hollywood' writers thought of that ending; very symbolic - Hardy unable to prevent Edge from ruining his life and career, being screwed by his ex and literally watching his life falling apart while he is helpless to do anything.
We all knew Hardy was going to lose (those who didn't shouldn't be allowed to watch wrestling ever again) as it was fairly obvious the WWE are intent on pushing Edge to the moon, so this was a good way to get Edge over with a win whilst not ending his feud with Hardy.

I knew that Edge was going to win. I mean, WWE was still promoting upcoming matches with him before the match even happened. I was just saying they could've done it in a way that put both participants over. Matt could've flipped out, or gotten on the mic a'la Bret Hart vs Sid, but he didn't. He got owned by Lita & walked out with his tail between his legs.

What if McMahon fires Bischoff off RAW and as punishment sends him to be the GM on Smackdown... the show that he hates more than anything. Then everybody hates him and beats him up on a daily basis.

 I love that idea... Bischoff can be comedy gold if given the chance to be.

Hmmmmmm, possibly. Just as long as they don't get rid of Bischoff, because Bischoff is gold.

It should have been like that but the WWE dropped the ball with this angle and the 'Diablo Angel' gimmick Hardy had for a few Raw when he first came back (i.e. "see you at Ring of Honor.... wooooo!") but this storyline has been diluted so much by clueless writers that it now would have seemed daft for Hardy to do something as radical as that. I suppose the Hollywood actors were trying to go for the sympathy perspective for Hardy... which I must say isn't exactly great face material, but they did it and its done.
Perhaps we'll be treated to a sharper, bitter and scorned Hardy when he debuts this Sunday or next Friday.

I really don't see that happening. As for whining about Lita being able to hold Matt Hardy back, you have to factor in that the fucker was tied up in the ropes. Sure, Lita's a 100 lb. woman, but you act like Matt Hardy's the fucking Big Show.

Matt DID NOT look like a bitch one time during this feud, except maybe right in the beginning where he was getting killed by Snitsky. The feud worked and played out perfectly pertaining to the direction they wanted to take it. Hardy suffered sever injuries to the head early on and could barely defend himself, but he had the courage to come out and fight for his pride. People jumped all over that and he got over. He was over already, but he stayed over. Edge's wins were mostly through Lita's help or he cheated or something. I think Snitsky even helped him once.
Matt Hardy got the HUGE win at Summerslam. That should of been the culmination of the feud, but since they needed an excuse to
1) Get Edge some heat back because he's suppossed to getting a push towards the Title
2) Seperate the two because Matt really doesn't want ti be around Edge at all out of storyline
they had to do the match on Raw. I felt the match was awesome and the finish was very well done. Matt lost no heat and a "hard luck break," which has been key to Matt's loses, is what got him at the end. And no matter how many pounds Matt had on Lita, he was already tied in the ropes and she wrapped herself like a snake around him. Nothing he could do but watch Edge climb the ladder. And I loved how Matt stopped trying to put up a fight to get out of the ropes like 5 seconds before Edge grabbed it. Matt just sat there and watched.
I thought this whole feud was booked great. Hardy can't cut a promo and that's why I think they went the way they did with him. But it still worked.

Perhaps not last night, but his squealing at the start of the feud ('Edge you took away my dream of one day having children...' are you kidding?) and losing the first match (the shoot fight) because he was "knocked out" made him look like a whining wuss.

to you or to the millions of wrestling fans? I never look at things from a "well it looked like that to me" perspective. I watch the audience and I listen to non-internet fan reactions. If it made him look like a wuss to the mass audience, they would of turned on him quicker then Backlund lost the Title in 94. I agree that one promo was terrible and that's why I said they went to the sympathy card using pyschological techiques instead of words. The knockout just gave people a reason to cheer Hardy even more against Edge because here's this guy that has lost everything the past two months and he gathers his composure, comes back to fight the guy who has made his life miserable and on the first night, he gets knocked out. And they (Edge and Lita) laugh at him.
If that was a movie, I would most certainly feel sympathy for the guy who got knocked out because here's a guy who just suffered even more bad luck by getting a blow to the head and a serious injury.
Through this whole thing Matt Hardy reminded me of Rudy. If you never saw the movie, I recommend it. But Rudy was a football player who just kept getting knocked down and knocked down and knocked down and knocked down. He fell so many times that by the end you couldn't help but shed a tear when he finally gets his moment in the son, only if it were for a brief 4 minutes. Tell me that wasn't Matt Hardy?

I dont think this is over yet. Everyone seems to think that this is over with Edge and Matt but with all this SD vs. Raw crap going on are you sure?
I could see Hardy and Edge clashing yet again in this brand storyline they look to have set. And possibly on last rematch at Mania. If there is a Raw invasion of the SD PPV then Edge can take one last shot at Hardy. Hardy boils a little over the coming months then at the Royal Rumble they eliminate eachother (or Edge takes his shot there and Hardy costs him the win) and we go to Mania with a final Edge vs, Hardy match.

Yeah, I don't see it as being over either, regardless of how they do it. Now with the brand split, everyone assumes that in a case like this, the loser will go to the opposing brand.

Well him going to SD makes the most sense. And the main reason I say it isnt over (Apart from how simple the booking is to keep it going) is that in an interview a while ago Hardy called it a 7 part story. I dont think we have seen 7 parts yet.

Honesty time.
With the small boom that was being produced with Matt Hardys sitiuation, WWE could have easily rushed him directly into being a main event wrestler. Hes a man that the fans WERE very firmly behind due to all of the emotion. I consider it a lost oppurtunity for the WWE.
