Giambi got voted the "come back" player of the year?

How about the "off roids and on HGH" player of the year.

Can't wait till next season when Sosa has put back 20-30# of muscle and gets the award.

Giambi to a lesser extent has been the equivlent of Ortiz, as far as clutch play. He may be the reason they are in the playoffs. Mid season he was carrying the Yankee's. Ofcourse theres always gunna be a question of whether or not he's doing it cleanly, but i have to believe that baseball has tested him regulary since the beginning of the season. I also dont think Giambi is stupid enough to get caught after admitting ( kinda admitting ) that he used steroids.

1) Yeah, comeback, and what is he coming back from? Roid use, he brought himself down, doesn't deserve crap.

and no, Baseball has not "tested him regualry", he's in the same "testing" program as everyone else, the same program that doesn't test for HGH.

Not saying he is or isn't back on something, more my point is he doesn't deserve it because he brought himself down, and was only "up" before due to roids.

Giambi is sketchy, but it's good to see Griffey again.

I dunno, pretty obvious he was going to get it...

That doesn't make it right. Giambi should not be rewarded for coming back from taking too much steroids. If Bonds wins this award next year 90% of this board will call for his head.

The real comeback player of the year is Mark Ellis, missed all of last year due to shoulder injury in a collision with Bobby Crosby in spring training, came back this year had a career year .320 11 HR as well as playing gold glove 2B

it's a stupid award. We all know how fans vote. Just look at the All-Star game.

Technically, he is coming back from some sort of a virus, but its implied that it was steroids. He never specified why he was sorry, and he was never "caught" by the MLB. JUST SAYING.

and he testified to a grand jury that he took steroids.

Ok Blue Jays fan, you may have won 2 championships in the 90's, but let me ask you something, did you have one of the greatest performances in post season history? I don't think so.

These fielding percentage stats will clearly show who the better team was this year:
Bill Mueller .972
Shea Hillenbrand .954

And another thing to consider, Vernon Wells hit 28 homers in 620 at bats this season, but Manny Ramirez has 425 career homeruns, so HA

Don't respond because a. you don't understand stats and b. the Red Sox won the World Series in 2005

You have clearly overlooked the strike season of '94. The Jays may have 'only' won two consecutive championships, but they were defending champions for 3 seasons. 3 SEASONS!

I bid you good day.

I knew he was going to win it. This just proves that most fans really don't care about steriods.

I think its kind of funny how people can constantly shit on the Sox, but then if somebody else brings up another posters favorite team it's not a lot becuase "they weren't talking about them"

Nobody was even talking about the Red Sox in this post til the Miz brought them up either. Sort of ironic since he is constantly the one who is saying "Why are you even bringing *insert team here* What does that have to do with anything?"

Supreme is right though, this should award should just be all about Griffey. Fuck Giambi

Yeah, word. I was just saying it was obvious he was going to win it. Guy had like 4 homeruns and was getting shitted on by people and then he hit like 20 in a span of two weeks. Pretty impressive.

Guy's obviously a cheating bastard, Griffey on the other hand.
