anyone else ever see this episode? the one where fry finds his dogs fossil and is going to clone the mutt.

what a horribley sad episode lmao, didnt see that ending coming.

almost brought a tear to my eye :o

Yeah, a class episode. Up there with The Sting and Luck of the Fryrish for emotional episodes.

Mike pretty much beat me to the exact post I was going to make. If you like Jurassic Bark (and I love the episode, but the ending almost kills me every time :$), you would like The Sting and Luck of the Fryrish.

There are very sweet moments in Love and Rocket, Parasites Lost and The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings, too. :'(

Such a gutwrenching show, when it wants to be.

I love the episode, but when I'm watching the DVD set, I try to avoid it because it upsets me too much.

Yeah the ending is petty sad, they picked a great piece of music to accompany it.

First time i saw it, the ending to The Devils Hands are Idle Playthings choked me up a little.

If Fry wasnt such a dumbass, his little dogs wait of a 1000 years would be over. But instead, he goes on thinking that his dog lead a great life...what the hell kind of message is that? Ignorence is bliss?

Fox kinda screwed up the season totals, on the DVD sets at least it's on the Season 3 discs.

Season 4 actually.

Fox did screw up the seasons on DVD. To put more episodes on Season 1, Fox added four of season 2 episodes onto it. Then Season 2 added Season 3 and so forth, messing it up.

Random Futurama Fact:
Did you know that origonally it wasn't going to be his dogs fossil? Origonally it was going to be his mothers fossil but they changed it for some reason.

Would that have made it any sadder or less sadder if they did do it as his mother?

I haven't seen the episode so I don't know what happens, but they probably changed it because people bitched about cloning a human :roll:

Story works MUCH better with the dog. In fact the story changes completely with his mother.

finally got season 3 downloaded(atleast i think its season 3) and it had luck of the fryish...wasnt really a tear jerker.

jurassic bark was far more of an emotional pull

Message? It's supposed to be an ironic twist. Fry does something that's actually mature and responsible and lets his dog go, and we find out just how wrong one of the only intelligent things he does in the show is. It's funny as Hell, but it's not really selling a message, just tossing a conventional train of thought on its ear.
