IWGP Heavyweight Title!!!

Which begs the question, why did Vince drop the no compete clause and it looks like the wwe website reported about Lesner when he never actually singed, weird

Here another pic:

http://up.nm78.com/data/up022125.jpg

Think about it, he could sign for TNA!!!!!!!!

*edit*

I just read a rumour that because when Vince and Brock were in talks earlier this year about a return, cos Vince offered less money it made the no compete clause invalid aparently, which means he could be in TNA!!!! Holy Fuck!!!! How big would that be? Samoa Joe Vs Lesner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Vince wasn't offering enough money for him, what makes you think he'll go to TNA for even less money than that?

Probably just for leverage to get more money from Vince.

If Vince wasn't offering enough money for him, what makes you think he'll go to TNA for even less money than that? One of the reasons Lesnar left in the first place was because he didn't like the grueling schedule. TNA tapes two weeks worth of shows in one shot, doesn't run house shows, and has one ppv a month. If he went to TNA, he would be looking at 4-8 dates a month, and that includes appearances too probably. I think that would be much more up his alley personally. I guess we'll have to wait and see. If TNA really wants to make it, signing Lesnar would be about 10 steps forward.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Brock Lesnar sign with TNA, at least for some dates. C'mon, who wouldn't like to see Brock Lesnar kill Jeff Jarrett with "The Verdict" as he is now calling it (the WWE own the rights to the "F-5" name)?

Brock Lesnar vs. AJ Styles, Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe, Brock Lesnar vs. Christopher Daniels, Brock Lesnar vs. Roderick Strong, Brock Lesnar vs. Austin Aries, etc. If Lesnar did some appearances with TNA and ROH, he could really put on some classics that could get people talking.

No, Brock would only ally with JJ later to help him win the title for the 47th time.

Nooooo.... Poor Chono.

Also, NJPW is probably paying Brock a hell of a lot more than TNA is. JNPW isn't exactly a small fed, he could easily be making what WWE offered him. Anywho, we all know what match is coming now.

Lesnar Vs Tenzan.

Ten bucks says Lesnar taps to the Anaconda Vice.

Ironically, this show has a horribly small crowd for the Dome (38,000 maybe) and was considered one of the 4 worst Dome shows ever... Of cource, this is also because of the return of Choshu.

And finally.

Sankei Sports' main headline on the show was "Power of WWE King! Lesnar controls 3-way match." The story continues to put over Lesnar as a monster, saying that he's too violent and too strong. Antonio Inoki claimed that Lesnar displayed Shinnichi-ism and Inoki-ism. Chono admitted a complete defeat, saying he had never seen such a strong guy before in the ring. Simon Inoki gave the 10/8 Tokyo Dome show a grade of 70%, a grade of "passing." Simon said that the 1/4 Tokyo Dome show would likely feature Lesnar vs. Fujita for the IWGP title and an open invitation to "all former New Japan wrestlers" to work the show.

What the fuck? This is huge news. What the hell is going on with his non-compete clause, and why are the WWE letting this happen? Surely after a month of trademark issues with TNA they wouldn't let something this huge atcually go under their nose. I'm confused

I dunno. Did Hogan hold the IWGP title? Wait... You know, they may be claiming the WWE and WWF titles as different... Because that came from the Japanese press.

What about Hogan cause I could of sworn that Hogan was the first IWGP Champ and then went on to hold the WWF/E Title, so wouldn't that make Hogan the first man to do that or am I thinking about a different title?

Inoki actually won the WWF Title during Bob Backlund's "six-year" run, but WWF ignores the change in their histories.

So, Lesnar's the third.

Yeah, apparently Inoki & Hulk Hogan's runs are "disputed", so Brock is officially the first, but Hogan and Inoki have their arguments.

I personally think Lesnar will work in TNA at least for a while at some point. Lesnar has got to be pissed off at the WWE (if he's not working for them, I wouldn't be surprised if this is all a work), so he's going to try to do everything within his power to aid the opposition. By putting on a few matches in ROH and TNA, he could send ripples through the wrestling world.

Hogan's IWGP Title win wasn't disputed at all. Inoki's was, for some random ass reasons.

I figured as much. So to review
Brock Lesnar = IWGP and WWE
HOgan = IWGP and WWF
Inoki=IWGP and unrecognized WWF.

Does anyone have any history on the Inoki reign? I recall something like ht won the title, but he wasn't suppose to (ala, he booked himself to win in Japan against WWE's knowledge, and instead of having Bob just win it back, they didn't recognize it.)

I don't have the backstory, but Backlund actually DID win it back in a match in Japan as well. So he lost it and won it back, but it was never recognized in the US.

I'm going to get ambitious and look it up soon. I'm pretty sure though that it wasn't sanctioned by WWF, and it was basically a decision of INoki's and Backlund's or something like that.

Well some people don't recognise it. I don't know why, but some people consider Hogan's reign as non-existant.

I'd say he did win it, but maybe Hogan just got a big head so they ignore it. My Japanese wrestling history is not up to scratch, so this may be way off, but was Hogan under WWE contract at the time? Maybe what I read somewhere meant Lesnar was the first guy to officially win the IWGP and WWE Championship while working for the seperate companies?

Hogan won the IWGP league, not the IWGP title of today.

And

# November 30, 1979: Antonio Inoki defeated Bob Backlund to win the WWWF Heavyweight title, a reign not recognised by the WWF..
# December 1, 1979: Bob Backlund defeated Antonio Inoki to recapture the title, but not without contraversy..
# ~~~WWF Japan President Hisashi Shinma declared the match a "no-contest" because of interference from Tiger Jeet Singh..
# ~~~Hisashi Shinma awarded the title back to Antonio Inoki, who refused to accept the championship..
