Remember back in the peak of The Attitude Era, you couldn't wait to watch the next show? Plus you only had to wait 2 days because the rosters were united and there was basically 8 shows to buildup an angle.
Now it's every week, which is kinda slow and I feel there's not enough time to properly build a feud.
Now I understand that the rosters are so huge and my theory would be impossible.

I feel that the WWE is heading back to those days again(that's the feeling i got form homecoming). I've got a theory though: The WWE are making all these cuts to the roster because they're planning to join the rosters sometime in the future.Doubt it will be for another year atleast though as they would have the PPV schedule planned out. However, that leaves more time to cut some more wrestlers from the roster.

the rosters have been split for a long time if you think about it. 3 years seems like a long time, but not on paper
I liked the idea of one Undisputed Champ who was able to be on BOTH shows. Right before Big Nose got the WHC

That one champ on two shows idea sucked, because it would confuse the storylines too much.
naitch you still remember but god i wish i could forget lol

Yeah, I was addicted to wrestling back then.
The brand split presented Vince with another unexpected side effect: instead of WWF or WCW, people were becoming loyal to a show. Don't like how things are going on Smackdown? Just catch RAW, every week, and vice versa. People don't HAVE to watch the next show anymore because its and entirely different set of angles and characters, and I think thats a big part of the ratings change we've seen over the last couple of years.

The rosters are too small to have two brands, but two big for one. They've gotten themselves into a lousy situation in this. I'm sick of this brand split shit.

YEAH! Let's go back to the days when Austin, Rock, and HHH dominated both wrestling shows, and we got to watch them for four hours per week instead of just a measly two! One half-hour H promo per week isn't enough, dammit!

The ratings speak for themselves.

It was hardly unexpected, the WWE made that happen themselves.Remember Booker T's comment when he got traded to smackdown?Something like 'i don't want to be in the minor leagues'...now for the writers to treat their own show in such a way is retarded.

It's been said before, but bring back WCW in-place of Smackdown. It's doing very little as the inferior brand, and having even just the slightest essence of WCW would be enough to re-attract the attention of WCW who's interest in wrestling had faded since the buy-out.
Vince needs to differentiate Smackdown from Raw. Smackdown needs its own Unique Selling Point dammit! Otherwise, it is just a poor man's RAW. It needs a raison d'etre

I like the idea of a Smackdown show though. not the wrestlers who are on it right now. the only ones that are worth it on smackdown are batista, orton, undertaker, and booker t, however they dont have enough good competition.

I hate to say this, you anti-Kennedy person you, but you're right. I make it a point to watch Raw, and I catch SmackDown here and there. I'm loyal to Monday Night Raw.
Don't misunderstand, I like some of the SmackDown wrestlers... Okay, most of them, but I just like the Raw storylines better. Now I'll admit it, there's something that SmackDown has that Raw doesn't have.

You were close, Paul. It was more like
Blah blah blah I hate Austin and am glad that I don't have to put up with him even once a week anymore.

The problem is that no matter what you call it - Smackdown!, WCW, ECW, WWWF, or whatever - Vince still owns it and will run it the way that he wants with the people he wants both in front of and behind the cameras. Unless there are FUNDAMENTAL changes in that philosophy, the "Blue" brand will be exactly as it is now.

This is a good thing. Cept the Triple H bit. But Austin and the Rock were fucking awesome.

Insightful! Perhaps a promotion for Heyman from OVW to run the show would be required for this to be a sucessful transformation. It's a tall order, but something has to be done.
